2023 proposed bills that want to restrict the LGBTQ+ community ever further

Until a majority of voters say "enough!", the race is on among state legislators to file new bills to legislate away the gender-nonconforming community.  The current leaders for 2023:

 

Missouri -- 27 anti-LGBTQ+ bills

Texas -- 15 bills

South Carolina -- 12 bills

The range of proposals filed is breathtaking.  The pace of their efforts is picking up speed.

Thankfully, I think only 1% of proposed bills actually pass.  A government functions best when it functions least.  Long live inefficiency....it is our best friend at the moment.

Is a mantra populrized by Reagan when trad legislators and civil politicking were rendered obsolete and were bought up by Corporations and their lobbyists who began writing laws themselves, which ushered in a new era of hyper-management that was by design, way too complicated for anyone to trace where the money came from or where it was going. This was not the work of legislators, but of accelerationist economists.

But even more absurd is the idea that all this was avoidable in itself, that we were willing victims, coerced by those who promised we could all live beyond our means not by taxing Plutocrats, but by borrowing from taxpayers who were not even born yet.

@stveee  Ugh, Reagan.  Even a broken clock is right twice a day.  IDK why he was so popular, but that was all before I was born.  Just one look at the 1986 gun ban was all I needed to know....just more establishment trash masquerading as being a friend to liberty. 

 

Yes, we were willing victims.  At least in the same way that folks who pay protection racket money to the Mafia are willing victims.  There were a number of points where changes could have been made, but the lack of change caused what we have today.  The Civil War.  Starting the Federal Reserve in 1913.  Starting income tax.  Getting involved in two useless world wars, and creating a standing army.  But, I digress.

 

It is basically too late to change the system.  If it can't be returned to its origin, the best we can hope for is obstruction.  Massive obstruction.  The more bills like these which clog the legislature, the less likely any of them are going to get through.  It might be fun if we could convince some people to run for the legislature merely to clog the system and act as wreckers.  Propose so much new business that everything collapses under the weight of the paperwork.

That may not turn out to be the case in Missouri this year.  Missouri is now up to 30 proposed anti-LGBTQ+ bills, of which 22 have advanced past the committee stage for debate and vote by the legislature.  Update here:
