Hello everyone.

I'm would like to known as Ashley

Even typing an intro while still being anonymous I'm finding difficult.

Thinking about recent thoughts is confusing, but looking back on the last 40 years at key points is painful now.

I started to type the events of my life but that's in the past I can't change those outcomes.

About 18 months ago I had breakdown and the day I got to see my GP I had intended to come out, but I chickened out and I was put on anti depression meds. I have spent the last 5 months winging slowly off the meds until last week when once again these feelings have resurfaced and I had another breakdown.

this last week i have been watching some of the inspiring women who have started their journey on YouTube and reading what health services are available to Kiwi's.

https://www.ccdhb.org.nz/our-services/a-to-z-of-our-services/gender-affirming-services/gender-affirming-hormone-therapy-gaht/

Now for first time not only am I admitting to myself but to others. I don't have to be envious of the women I interact with everyday.

Welcome to the Forums.  You are not alone in what you describe here.  I too was put on powerful anti-anxiety drugs WHEN I came out to my GP instead of sending me to Behavioral Health help.  It becomes easier to speak about it each time you do write or talk about it, especially someplace where you are fully accepted as you are here with us.

Hi, Ashley.  Welcome!

What an auspicious day to join the forum: International Women's Day!

I know that this stage of your journey is difficult and confusing, but even just signing up on Trans Pulse is a big step forward.  You can ask questions, vent, try out ideas, whatever you need to move forward.  I would encourage you to open up to your health care professionals.  In particular most of us find that talking to a qualified gender therapist is extremely helpful when it comes to figuring out your goals and how to achieve them.

Regards,

Kathy

Welcome dear.  Finding comfort in myself took such a long time.  Vicky is quite right.  Writing about myself here, despite my fears, has helped me immensely.  We do our best to keep this space secure.  Over time my fear has gone and i live my life openly and honestly.  I never could;ld have done that without the steps i took here.

You are not alone.

Hugs,

Charlize

Welcome, Ashley! Great advice for you above from women who have so much experience to share about their journeys. Like you, I'm just at the beginning and truly understand the emotional struggles - finding a qualified therapist to help you sort through the emotions and plan a path forward will help greatly.

Enjoy your time here among people who understand and care.

Hi Ashley! It's a difficult process to go through even just coming out because you know who really loves you and accepts you for who you are. Hugs!

Please consider joining us, even if it's just for a few minutes to see what the meetings are like. I've learned so much, had so much fun and gained confidence in myself just by being a part of this amazing group of people. It's a low key, no pressure, non-judgmental chance to just be among people who are supportive, understanding and affirming of each other.    I'm travelling out of state and still planning on dropping in for awhile.    Come see what it's like!!

Thank you, Susan!! It was such an amazing experience for me. I can't remember if I even talked about it on a Zoom meeting.   Here is the link to the post I made about it. And, again, thank you for helping to give me the courage to do it.

Good morning coffees   This probably doesn’t exactly apply to me because you wouldn’t have found a more shy and conservative person than me.  I was perhaps less shy before my sister started complaining about me doing things that were hers to do. And I would become embarrassed and that was the end of that.   upstairs unit got their typical weekend visitors in the middle of the night last night.  They woke me up.  They have little consideration for being in a condo community and the neighbors being in such close proximity.   @awkward-yet-sweet , how goes the job with your husband’s boss?  I don’t recall you saying much about it this week, but I could have missed a post along the way.  If I recall you were supposed to meet with him last Monday.   @KymmieL I hope you are feeling better.     Yes, I find it to be wrong that just because a car part says Ford or Chevrolet on the box that same part with Lincoln or Cadillac on the box cost a lot.more.  I know there are differences in the upscale brands such as the engine and drivetrain in the Caddy and of course the interior fit and finish.  But it’s the same body with things crammed in the same way under the hood.     well, time to finish my coffee, fix my hair and made my way across the street to work.    willow

I read about her this morning. What a shame! She was beautiful and it seems she had a strong support system in place and could have had a wonderful life all to have it end like this. Such a waste. I truly hope the monster that killed her gets everything he deserves.

They’re not going to stop anytime soon either. Tighten your belts folks were in for a long ride.

I am so glad you enjoy them as well. The help things “stay put” so well. It got me through some of my most dysphoric times.   Wow, I hadn’t heard this at last week’s Zoom meeting if you had mentioned it. That is a huge milestone April Marie.I have no doubt that this confidence will only grow in time. The freedom of being yourself, especially in public, is a wonderful feeling. I am truly happy for you.😘   *Big Congratulatory Hug* Susan R🌷
