I only just found out about my first appointment letter a year late. what do I do?

so I'm transitioning in the uk, and was referred to gids in 2018 and later the leeds gic when I turned 18 in 2021.

in may/june 2022, a letter was sent to my last address, that I had only just moved out of at the time.

it detailed that I was to ring up to book my first appointment, and if I didn't in four weeks, they would refer me back to the gp.

that time has long passed and now I'm panicking. do I have any options? did I really just ruin my chance to transition (at least anytime soon) because I missed a letter? what do I do if that's the case?

I would contact the people who sent you the letter NOW and explain the circumstances and get their input on what to do.   I do not know the full process with your health provider, but with mine here in the states I know they would give me a short list type of re-connection with the doctors who approved it the first time a year ago.
