Hi and hello. My name is Stephanie, and I've only just come out after 40 odd years. First started when I was 7 years old, went through school, college and even 24 years in the forces trying and being told by my ex coercive wife to " stop being stupid and pathetic". All my life I have experimented being female, and always felt "right" when dressed up. Trying to be true to myself has cost me my marriage, ( though I hasten to add that she was narcissistic) , my job, ( got stick from work colleagues). I have had 5 hospital admissions in psychiatric ward, and now I have felt is the time to " unzip and let her out". I have been referred to the regional gender dysphoria service again.( last tme my ex wife cancelled all my apointments), now dress full time, have changed my name by deed poll and have full support with my doctor, support workers. I m also starting my new career into nursing as Stephanie. I'd like to meet and talk to like minded girls that are also walking this journey from male female.

I'm sorry your path has been rough.  I share that with you.  It just took time but in the years since transition i've found peace with myself.  What a blessing to be me.  The support i found here certainly helped as well.

Welcome!

Hugs,

Charlize

Good morning Stephanie, from Central Indiana, USA.

I'm glad you found Transgender Pulse Forums, and opened up with everyone here. It still amazes me how so many of us share a similar story line. This forum isn't going to replace therapy, but it's a great life raft until you can get in to see someone in person. Everyone here is caring and helpful. I hope you find the things you need, so you can be you.

Best wishes, stay positive, and motivated,

Welcome, Stephanie. You will find a lot of support here. It's such a relief to live as our authentic selves. It took me 50 years from the time I knew I was a boy at 16.

It’s a pleasure to meet you @Stefany  and nice to have you onboard. Now that you’re able to live authentically, I’m sure that you’re beginning to enjoy the freedoms it brings. It’s amazing how living as your true self gives you a whole new outlook on life and desire to do new things despite all you had to go through to get to this point. Like you, so many things in my life changed once I lived freely as I was intended. I wish you the best in your new career and hope your journey through transition is smooth. See you around.

Warmest Regards,

Susan R🌷

Welcome Stefany! I have been admitted to the psch ward a couple of times myself. My family is in the medical field as well. 2 sisters and my Mom are nurses. My Mom works in Gastroenterology. What branch did you serve? I was in the Air Force for 11 years and had to get out because it didn't feel like a military branch anymore it felt like a corporation instead.
