Grooming, hair, and makeup

I was watching my husband today, and I noticed that he spends more time on his appearance than I might have thought.  Adjusting his hair, applying a bit of touch-up dye to cover gray, something I don't quite understand about his eyes....  Normally, we assume that guys just throw something on in the morning, but I think there are folks who spend time to dress well and look good. 

 

I had the thought that perhaps we should have a discussion about makeup, grooming, and such products for the gentleman (and androgynous ones like me).  I know we have a "beauty" section of the forum, but perhaps this should go in a "Handsomeness" section.  Are there specific hair care products that you enjoy?  If relevant, any holdovers from previous feminine life?  Cut, color, and style recommendations for those who want to change color/countour or conceal the gray? 

 

I tend not to put in much time on myself, but I've noticed that on a Sunday morning, a bit of Tresemme "extra hold" hair spray works wonders since my style is on the "fluffy" side of androgynous.  Anybody else like that stuff?  And if I can steal the recipe for my husband's home-mixed hair dye, I'll post it... 😉

I never thought about it much either. I don't exactly time myself- just a brief glance at the clock before I go into the shower and after I leave the bathroom- but I assume it takes about 10-15 minutes to ready myself for the day after I finish my shower. I usually do everything in one fell swoop: brush my teeth, put on lotion, do my hair, then put my clothes on. A lot of the products I've switched up since deciding to live my life as a man, but the one constant since before is leave-in conditioner. I usually, nowadays, use Aussie or John Frieda if Aussie is not available. It works well for my hair-type and it smells good too. 

 

I've recently gotten into using pomeade and it feels nice to apply. It really holds the style I've been trying out these days. Some time ago, I got my hair cut in the crew style and that felt good. Really made my head feel light.

 

A long time ago, I think I used to use Tresemme products. It was the conditioner and leave-in conditioner I believe. Besides Fructier, their products smell good too.

I have long hair and quite an impressive beard, if I can say it myself. I take care of both using only natural shampoos and oil to keep them hydrated and shinny, and when I go out I use wax to comb the beard. Since I have dermatitis I've never used make-up or anything, only a black pencil for the eyes a few times.
I've seen some impressive videos tho. I agree that the "beauty world" is not only for women. I put a lot of effort on choosing my clothes, my style is very original and I use a lot of jewelry.

Does anyone use sea salt spray for their hair? And have you had any success with it? I have some pomade but I think I need to get better with it--I usually use too much.
