I'm Elijah, I'm a trans male youth looking for community outside of mainstream social media. As much as I love connecting to trans people via social media such as Instagram, YT, or just reddit, I think at this point I'd prefer a less mainstream platform to connect with people on. I think forums like this one provide a great opportunity for that, and are likely hosting less hate than I know mainstream social media does. Getting away from politics and transphobia would be nice to do every once in a while, and I'm hoping I can find conversation here that achieves that.

Although I'm looking for connection to people within my community, I'm aiming to stay mainly anonymous and using a false name to do so. Being public with my identity online is not only dangerous and ill-advised in most cases, but I'm personally uncomfortable with it. I hope I'll be able to have genuine conversations with y'all, still, and I hope I'll still be able to find advice regarding my situation at the moment as well. I bring this up because I imagine in future posts it might seem as though I'm leaving out bits of necessary information for the topic at hand, but I'm likely just trying to stay anonymous.

I'm not sure how most people do their introductions, but I'll just provide the basics and then talk about myself some. (TL;DR at the bottom, I'm aware I write a lot, my apologies)

My name's Elijah, I'm a 16-year-old Californian. I use he/him pronouns and am a binary transsexual male. I'm in a lot of trans spaces full of mainly people my age and an awful lot younger still, so I hope I'll get some perspectives from older trans people here, too. I'm fond of many types of music and art, and usually sum it up with "I just enjoy making things." As far as music goes, though, I'm a massive fan of Will Wood. He's by far my favorite artist in music, and definitely up there in visual art as well. Trans activism and political activism are important to me, which is another reason I hope to connect more with those in my community- building strength in community is an important part of fighting oppression, and giving one another hope for the future is an important part of community. I generally enjoy connecting with people, but I find my mental health can get in the way of it. I identify as aromantic and asexual at the moment, and have for quite a while, but testosterone very well could change that. I spend a lot of my free time watching political and philosophical video essays, or shorter form commentary content on YouTube about similar topics. If I have the motivation to do so, I spend my time practicing vocals and piano and completing various creative projects of mine, but otherwise will just watch videos and video essays on their own or while doing other things. I don't spend much time on video games but I occasionally get more interested in them for periods of time, it largely depends on where my energy is focused at the moment. Possibly irrelevant to y'all, but very relevant to my own life, I have ADHD. Usually, that's why I'm often focused on one thing in particular with many others simply in my peripherals. If my writing appears to jump topics a bit, that may explain why as well.

TL;DR- Elijah, 16yro transsexual male, aromantic & asexual, enjoys being generally creative, is invested in political activism (especially for trans rights), has ADHD, is a big Will Wood fan, sings & plays piano.

Thanks so much for having me as a part of your community, y'all! Can't wait to connect more and I hope I'll become a regular here. Currently in the discord, and if can I figure out how then I'll have my name there as NoElijah, as well. I hope y'all have a wonderful day/night! 🩵🩷🤍🩷🩵

Welcome @NoEli6! It’s a pleasure to meet you. It’s nice to have the younger generation represented within our ranks. It’s also nice to have someone who believes transactivism and political activism is important…especially in today’s recent political climate.

If you’ve been looking around our forum you’ve probably noticed we are a very supportive non-judgemental group that strives to help others in our community any way we can. So if you have any questions, need information or would like someone to talk to about a specific issue or advice, you’ll feel right at home here.

I enjoyed reading your well written detailed introduction. You seem like a very smart well rounded individual. There are others here that are close to your age with similar interests so I hope you meet a few along the way. Enjoy the forum.

Warmest Regards,

Susan R🌷

Good morning @NoEli6aka Elijah

Welcome to Transgender Pulse Forums, I'm glad you're here, and open to a well rounded mix of people, from all walks of life, and experience. Unlike you, I was late to the transgender community.

Best wishes, stay positive, and motivated,

Welcome @NoEli6! I'm Rowan! I'm also a trans male but I'm a year older than you! I just joined the other day so I don't have a lot of insight on this forum completely, but so far everyone has welcomed me with open arms and has already been so kind! I hope you make tons of friends on here and find all the support you need!

Welcome, Elijah! I'm a trans man, in my late 60s. I came  out only a year ago. I've been here a short time, and I find it's a wonderfully affirming space.

Hi & welcome @NoEli6 . I'm 31 years older than you, but I see we have a lot in common. I'm nonbinary/transmasc, ace, creative & artistic, a vocalist, spend free time listening to philosophical/spiritual lectures & many years ago was diagnosed with overfocused ADHD. And you've come to just the right place to connect with folks if you seek more intimate, emotionally supportive social media for trans folks. Look forward to seeing you around here.

I don't know yet. I'm sure there is going to be a big crowd. I also would have to keep up with the kids and probably won't enjoy myself mostly.

I can understand that. My Keurig is used for hot water mostly and when my mom comes. I mostly use a regular coffee maker. I have had that for 5 years now. I had a Bunn but it didn't last long. I also have a French press and rarely use that. I would love to get a cappuccino maker but that is for later on. Starbucks is getting expensive. My kids favorite thing there is the cake pops. I found out that Walmart Neighborhood Market has them. Typical me getting off topic. lol

After many years in denial, I have finally acknowledged my femininity. After quite a long life, so much time has been wasted. Now I feel I am too old to enjoy the freedom I now feel. All I can contribute to those who need to embrace their true gender, be BRAVE and don,t waste time!

Well, welcome M.A. Several of my now grown kids were involved in theater in school.  And one is now a graphic designer.

Wow what a busy day today.  Clearly the summer crowd is coming into town.  Doesn’t hurt that we have a PGA event here.  It is limited to 100 players. But the spectators is where the crowd is.   i alone more than doubled my usual sales.     we keep hearing thunderstorms however they are staying just west of us for now. The storms in western Tennessee right now are supposed to be here in the morning.

Edit: Latest album is called "Drumless". My bad. The name of their tour is Drummer.

My gen z cousin & her gf were visiting the last few days. We are a very, very small contingent of queer members of our family & we stick together. She and her gf introduced me to G Flip. They recently attended a concert and said it was the best concert ever. They were playing G Flip in the car and I was impressed by the vocals, the lyrics, the influences, and the percussion (G is also a drummer). I love a nonbinary vocalist (not that we get to hear so many...yet...) because the freedom from gender performance shines forth. I could hear influences from many styles of music I loved in the 90s, but all blended together in a joyfully percussive way. G Flip is rad! I would post a link to some tracks or an album, but there are explicit lyrics which would go against community rules - you can easily search youtube yourself if you're interested; their latest album is called "Drummer". But here is a picture of G who is serving us gorgeous nonbinary vintage Axl Rose!

Welcome, @MAN8791. I relate to this so much. I'm roughly the same age as you, afab & nonbinary. For decades, I beat myself up for being a "broken" girl/woman. And I tried my darndest for many of those years to perform woman successfully. While outwardly I may have seemed "a success", inwardly the effort and dysphoria caused me so much anxiety, panic, and depression that it eventually became unsustainable. For me, the first step was letting go of identifying as "broken". Next, I allowed myself to be however I am. And very rapidly I felt better - in fact, initially I felt ecstatic. The door was open for me to really learn about self-love and therefore love itself.

Well, the counter space in the kitchenette is pretty Limited. But also cost, and usefulness. I guess she is mostly right, and it isn't really important.

Wasn't sure whether to post this in the "uplifting news" or "news" forum. This bill is pro-LGBTQ+, albeit 30 some odd years too late with 100s of thousands of lives lost throughout the AIDS crisis. The upshot is that ol' Ron has actually done some good for the community. That's really...something...although I doubt he sees it that way. And most importantly, greater access to screening and care will save many lives.   https://ncpa.org/newsroom/qam/2024/05/01/floridas-governor-signs-bill-expand-hiv-care
