Punk cowboy new to this site

Happy pride month! I'm new to this site so I'm throwin' my hat in the ring here! I'm Kevin. From southeast Texas, US, but I'm hoping to move to California soon. Despite all its faults with LGBTQA+ troubles, it's hard to hate some of the good things about my home state haha. Some of my favorite things will always be the texmex food and the weird Texas-shaped cheeses. (I'm a lover of food if you can't tell) :o]

I'd been guessing who I was since I was thirteen, and by my twenties finally accepted myself after a grueling teenagehood of attempting to be as feminine as possible. It didn't work, and I had a perpetual constipated-face full of makeup, but y'know, hindsight is 20-20 and all that. Added ba-dum-tsss sound here: I was 20 in 2020.

That year was one of the worst and best years of my life, from the pandemic, to coming out, to meeting my partner. Life never gets easier, but in some ways it's better: I'm a happily taken man who looks and feels like myself years later. I've dealt with allergic-reactions to HRT injections, had ups and downs medically, gone through top surgery; am about to receive a hysto very soon before any new laws are put into place this year (good ol Texas). Finally feeling comfortable in my own skin. It took a lot of work, medically, mentally, socially, legally, to get where I am now, and I'm real grateful for it.

As for what I'm into, I'm a digital artist, I like playing video games (specifically casual stuff like Sims), cartoons, punk and metal music, and I've dabbled a bit into front-end web development (a fancy way of saying making goofy lil websites). Tattoos and body mods are a huge love of mine too! I tattoo myself for fun on occasion. Lastly I got a fascination with McDonalds. 🍔 Can't explain that one.

That's pretty much it for me. Thanks for readin'!

Hi Kevin,

What Sims game is your favorite? Do you prefer the newer ones or the older ones? Nothing wrong with McDonalds I love the McRib! I completely understand about Texas it's how it is in Mississippi too. Once my boys are grown up and out of the house my soon to be girlfriend will be moving to Raliegh, North Carolina or Durham. It won't be anytime soon but I like to prepare in advance. The only downside is that it's expensive there but they are friendly with LGBTQ people. I haven't had much trouble here but they have mountains and cooler weather. Apart of me is hopping that Mississippi will become very friendly. It's not too bad though because there are two bars that are friendly. I'm going to try one out this weekend.

Welcome to the forums, Kevin!! There are lots of amazing people here to interact with - and many who share your love of Tex-Mex food, too.

Welcome Kevin! Glad you're here! Yes it seems life if full of both happy & sad, easy & hard, huh, kinda sounds like balance. I hope you find the wonderful advice, support & acceptance here as I have! It sounds like you have some of your own to share helping others along the trail.

Hugs!

Welcome to Transgender Pulse Forums Hamburglar.

I was a Cowboy most of my life, and always wanted to Cowgirl Up. I'm so happy for you and your partner that you have a plan for the future. The best thing this old gal can say to you is: Your future is not written, and you can be yourself, and do whatever you want to do.

Best wishes, stay positive, and motivated.

https://www.wbtw.com/news/grand-strand/horry-county/lgbtq-community-reacts-to-sc-approval-banning-gender-affirming-care-for-transgender-minors/     If not struck down by the courts this bill will hurt trans kids.  And that bit about "don't worry, you can transition when you're an adult?"  Don't believe that for a minute; come next session, adult trans health care will be targeted.   Carolyn Marie

https://www.nbcnews.com/nbc-out/out-news/judge-strikes-ny-countys-ban-female-transgender-athletes-roller-derby-rcna151806     Pretty common sense, straightforward decision.  Someone overstepped their authority - imagine that?   Carolyn Marie

PM any or several of the Moderators or Administrators if you want to have something changed due to spelling errors, or if you simply want to have an entire post deleted.  We do not allow members to edit their own posts since there are some items we restrict from being posted.  Those things are in the Community Rules and if a Staff member has removed something because of the rules we do not want it coming back.  https://www.transgenderpulse.com/community-rules/   Use the PM system to contact us and include a link to the post you want changed.

Do I ever feel? There isn't a single minute that goes by that I feel that way. I have such a strong hate for what I have that there isn't a word out there for it.

Are members allowed to edit or delete their post? I can't delete or remove my post if there are misspelled words.

I already tried that. Either too old like 60's and 70's or married. Not many people who would want to date a trans woman in dead red Mississippi. Maybe once things calm down just get a Mustang GT and just give up on it. Both are going to bring joy and pain. At least I could learn and share my love of cars with my kids when they get that old. I wouldn't even know what to do if someone said they wanted me. I would've already been thinking in my mind they are just going to ghost me so what's the point. I just don't know what to do anymore. I tried putting myself out there online and out in person. I haven't tried a bar yet although that's probably a bad idea. Maybe just to experience it again. I haven't been to one since 2013. The only problem I see is I'm not a night owl for sure. I go to bed at 8-830. My expectations were just that I wouldn't get rejected last. I have been able to handle a good bit of it but this one really hurt. I guess that's what happens when you have some hopes and expectations. It's not like I have another friend IRL to talk about this. She is my only one. I wished I didn't put myself out there.

As one who had to deal with the Porn/Adult Entertainment business as commercial, taxpaying businesses on a professional level, I can say that they are in it for money and the highest percentage of their income comes from ultra conservative areas where adequate Medical and Mental Health Profession and University Science instruction on Trans issues are banned.    It makes me wonder how much porn literature is hidden behind the 13 Bibles and Bible Study guides on some people's family bookshelves.

Do you ever feel trapped in a body that doesn't feel like yours?

There's the old thing of getting out and getting involved in things in the community and meeting people that way. Does your church have a food pantry? Does it have service opportunities you could plug into otherwise? You might run into someone that way.
    • Ashley0616
Well that didn't go well. She said she is intentionally single. When will I just stop thinking about putting myself out there. It really hurt but rejection and getting ghosted is just my second language apparently. The one person I have told all my dark secrets and didn't run off. At least we are friends. I'm happy only when I'm sleeping and that is it because things actually go my way from time to time. Just another wonderful day of me. SMDH!

In their minds, yes, unless it is clearly, consistently, forcefully articulated by those who represent trans people that we are not.  I'm not sure who that would be.
