MaybeRob, thank you for posting this. I watched the 4 corners report with flowing tears and clenched teeth, and utter frustration. The psychology / psychiatric community is refusing to admit that trans is a medical condition, and their 'treatments' are all about conversion therapy. It is no surprise that Westmeads poor performance with their gender clinic is happening in a long time conservative governed state. I hope the current government sees this report and looks into the mismanagement and prejudiced operation, with staff who are anti trans and fires them.

 

Why isn't there an inquiry into the death of Noah? Westmeads staff must accept some responsibility for this tragedy!

 

I am so frustrated because the evidence is clear that trans is NOT A MENTAL DISORDER, yet psych practitioners are driving the treatments. It is clear that the health 'care' community are still treating trans as a mental illness, and this is costing trans people their lives. I am frustrated because there are potential diagnostic medical procedures which could turn this awful situation around, but their acceptance is being blocked by the psych industry, backed by conservatives, right wing and churches.

 

Trans people do not decide to be trans because it looks attractive, or they had early trauma, or they are pushed into it by gender activists, they are born trans! We need the health care community to accept this fact, and start providing appropriate treatments. If they don't, they will be responsible for more Noah's.
