We have been asked to publicise the following Research Study, aimed at UK based Transgenders who are trying to access NHS services.

 

This research has had ethical approval from the University of Glasgow and is for UK-based TGNC individuals aged 18 and over.
This research study aims to understand the barriers to attending appointments at NHS GIC/Gender Service. The project will explore the current political climate, stigma, self-medication/sourcing, neurodivergence and interactions with healthcare professionals as potential barriers to attending NHS gender appointments. The study will also explore private appointments and if these barriers exist in this sphere too. The study aims to provide qualitative evidence to NHS services to help them improve their services and reduce barriers to accessing Gender Affirming Care as well as general healthcare for TGNC people. The research will involve a semi-structured interview (around an hour long) with TGNC adults who have failed to attend, struggle to attend, or have attended NHS or private gender service appointments.

Thanks for posting this, PJ.  I think it could eventually make a difference for U.K, trans people, given the poor service and long wait times for appointments for the few U.K. gender therapists and doctors, and lack of respect shown to many in our community in the U.K.
