Wanted Say Hello

Hello!

I joined the site at the end of last year, and would finally like to say "hi".

In my late 30s, I am coming to terms with my femininity.  I knew when I was very young I was a "girl", "feminine", whatever it is, I felt it. At the time, I felt so unsafe, so unseen, my brain kept it from me, deleting the connections over and over again throughout the years. Not this time!

A brief (and lite!) intro to who I am and how I chose my user name.

I am a big car nerd! As such, I wanted to pick a "poetic" car name. I figured 370z was to vague, and "Fairlady" to on the nose, so I chose Skyline:)

Welcome Skyline! Glad you're here! I do relate to knowing something, trying to "man up", it wasn't an atmosphere where I could love & accept myself. I love your name, many sunrise and sunsets are radiantly beautiful! I hope you find the wonderful advice, support & acceptance here as I have!

Your name choice is cool. When I was a teenager going to drive-in-theaters in the Ozark Mountains we had a favorite drive-in that really catered to us teens, and it was Skyline Drive In. They showed teen movies on Friday night after the area football games ended. While most of us had strict curfews, if we were going to the Friday night late show. We could arrive home in the early AM without explanation to our parents. They trusted the Drive-in owners to keep an eye on us.

Hello @Skyline! It’s a pleasure to have you here. Coming to terms with this part of yourself is difficult in the beginning but gets so much easier over time. Acceptance of yourself is the first step to help you understanding better who you are and helps you filter some of the misinformation and propaganda we’ve heard all our lives. It can be an exciting but can be a little frightening at times too. So if you have any questions, need advice, and/or just want to make a few like-minded friends, this is the place to start.

Welcome Skyline.  Definitely a cool name.  Having a chance to name and accept ourselves for who we are is such a great possibility.  Enjoy yourself and open up as much or as little as you wish.  You aren't alone.
