Hi, my name is MC. I'm a MtF just starting their journey. I've known for a while but I am too scared to say anything to anyone. I want to start HRT but I'm too afraid to go to a dr or planned parenthood. Can anyone help? Or at leastsomeone to talk to

Welcome to the Forums.

We CAN talk to you and relate to you from our own personal experiences about the non medical sides of Transitioning to your true self and answer your questions from that POV.  We already have a lot of places where others have been in your position.  Your state is not the easiest one to live in if you are Trans, be we have members who know it and can help with what they do know.  My first piece of help I can offer, is that you find an LGBTQ Center near you where you can meet other Trans people safely IRL.  Join in any conversation here that seems it is going in ways that help you and ask your questions, or just have some fun in the chatty topics we have here and there.

On these Forums we cannot talk about non-medical ways of obtaining hormonal medicines for Transitioning since none of us are doctors and our rules are pretty strict about discussing how to get them illegally.  Hormones and even the OTC types are too easy to abuse on your own, and can create lasting medical problems that can kill you. The site was founded by a person who did do that and was left with heart and brain injury and had to give the place up as it affected them worse.

Welcome to the forums, MC!! You will find many of us here who understand the emotions you're going through. I'm about 8 months ahead of you in the process after finally acknowledging my truth.  We've faced - and many still face -  the fear, doubt, self-hate, depression, and guilt. So, just know you are not alone and, more importantly, you can find joy and self-love. Just acknowledging your identity is a major step in the process of self-healing.

Vicky gave you wonderful advice. Finding a local center where you can meet others in the LGBTQ community will go a long way to easing your mind. Look around the forum and jump in where you feel comfortable. I can guarantee you will find wonderful, helpful, understanding people here, not judgement.

I would also recommend that you seek out a qualified gender therapist if at all possible. I work totally on-line with mine and she has, literally, been a life-saver.

Hang in there. Discovering yourself, becoming who you were meant to be can be scary...but it can also be a wonderous journey.

Welcome MC.  You certainly aren't alone.  Many, including me, had trouble opening up to anyone.  After a bit of time here i had read about how helpful a gender therapist could be.  Folks were talking about their GTs and i couldn't understand what a GT was for a bit.  W#hen i found a local therapist she helped me accept and over time, with the support of others here i found a path to living as myself.  The past 11+ years have been some of the best in my life.

Hugs,

Charlize

Welcome KC! Glad you're here! You might try looking in the TransintheSouth guide follow the link, or you can just do a web search. https://southernequality.org/resources/transinthesouth/

Often counselors host or know of a local support group. It helped me here in the Florida Panhandle. I hope you find the wonderful advice, support & acceptance here as I have!

Hugs!
