I've been wondering about this, so, sorry that I can't answer your question. Have you considered doing very little-no exercise for a while and eating more unhealthy food than you do now?

Guest Paula :)

i can say for me there has been quite a good deal of muscle loss and body fat changes in a short period of time. everything i've read has said that all the changes take around 18 months to two years, so, um, yay!

i hope this helps honey,

Mis.....

YMMV.....yep! Your mileage may vary...

It will be different for everyone...If you are muscular without working out, it must be genetic....

I'm on month 5 of HRT......OK?

I've lost muscle mass...I've been building a room on my house that requires me moving 4X8 sheets of plywood which I DID last year...(slow project)

This year after HRT I can't move the plywood at all! I need help!

I've lost muscle mass and it shows ...My upper body is smaller and my arms have become smooth and weak!

I never WAS Charles Atlas, but I was strong enough to get things done...not so anymore...

I've seen pictures on the internet of Transwomen with before and after pictures and you will be amazed at how much they changed..from a male muscular body to quite feminine!

If you want to feel better...do some searches and see for yourself...

Just remember that this does not happen overnight!

You'll change a LOT, Sweetheart!

Go have a look!

Yes

Like Dee Jay says - over a period of time you lose muscle mass and it can be deceptive. I am going to be on HRT since December 10 of last year. Taking out the trash - those large bags? Once I did it one handed, throwing it ovet the top of one of those oversize trash cans. Now it takes two arms and a lot of effort. I can see my arms are smaller in the upper part. At first I thought it was from losing 32 pounds, but now I can feel the shoulder bones more easily.

But my legs are changing. I went from knobby bird legs to really having calves and thighs. But when I pinch them they have a thick layer of fat, not muscle. So there is some new fat distributuion there. And I totally lost my beer belly - which is wonderful. And two days ago my wife told me I have started getting a cute butt - grin.

So yes - it works. Different people have a different time frame I hear. So look for these chnges to be so subtle you will hardly notice until people say something like,"your face is really rounding out!"

I know after 3 years of being on hrt and 1 year Post Orchiectomy my body has changed dramatically. My arms never developed to begin with and now they are much weaker than they ever were. My leg muscles before were very hypertrophic because of my neuromuscular disorder but now they are finally shrinking in size. My face has rounded out beautifully and my shoulders have taken a more rounded appearance and look very feminine. I'm still trying to lose weight which has been hard to do, but my fiancée just bought me a Wii with the Wii Fit board and I'm working out at least a half hour a day. Plus I'm going to cardiac rehab 3 times a week running a mile 3 times a week and cycling 4.2 miles 3 times a week so I'm starting to see effect. The one nice thing is now the muscle I'm developing is lean muscle and not T induces muscle mass. Girls it does take time but be patient and you will see you efforts come to fruition, it just doesn't happen overnight.

All right,

I was a body builder for MANY years. With well defined muscle everywhere.

I am in transition over two years. In transition, you lose lots of mass as the muscle atrophies and

melts away.It is the way your arms look that really changes over time.As they take on a females

appearance. You will never have those itty bitty woman arms so many of us find attractive.

But they will look like women's arms. But like the magic of HRT...It will take time.

Mine look like a fit woman's arms. Not tiny, but lean and non muscular.

I had a guy ask how long I had been working out.I told him,not in many years.

I have muscle memory from all the years of weight training,so itty bitty will never be mine.

Yeah my arms are now 12' inches if i don't flex guess it is not that bad, my calves on the other hand is 17''without flexing which might be a problem yo find pants hope that goes smaller as well.

Thank you all for the great responses :)

One more question the muscles at your legs. does that also lessen or would running help for that.

IE If a woman closes there legs while siting usually it is not a difficult posture but because i and guess i have more muscle on my upper legs it is really hard to keep em closed  if i sit like that for more then 2 min i get really bad cramps because it almost feels like exercising so keep them next to each other :(

Hope that made sense.

Thank you

After a year on HRT everything starts to take on female proportions and appearance.

I am an avid cyclist,so I have large legs. But like your arms will look like women's after time.

Mine look very nicely shaped(my best feature)I get compliments on them all the time.

Be Patient. HRT is magic, but a slooow working magic.By two years in transition, you have a woman's body.Be Patient.

Hello we are The lake. So called because This One has not determined a name for oneself but has in a way created an environment to try out multiple names as different people. Currently Some of us use she/her pronouns and one uses he/him. We hope to learn more about being transgender and the intricacies involved. Once again it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance and we hope to be of further help in the future.

Wholeheartedly agree.  Whether a compliment is backhand or forehand, I take it gladly.  They are offered rarely enough these days.    Carolyn Marie

Wow, a shop that actually respects a customer's truck?  That seems like a miracle!  My husband does most of his own work, because he really, REALLY hates people who mess with an interior, with grease spots or footprints.  His personal truck is old, but super clean.  And since he's the transportation manager for his company, he's pretty picky about people respecting company equipment.  "Take care of it, and it will take care of you" is the motto.  Drivers should be able to go through a DOT Level 1 inspection without worry.

Literally the word means "hatred of women" and so I don't think that's quite the right description for what you encountered.  Possibly chauvinism?  Or maybe just not wanting to bother somebody he figured wasn't interested or capable of doing the job?  Who knows.   But on the other hand...be glad you're passing

Finally found a site that gives the definition of defemination as a process of loss of feminine characteristics or continued loss of them.  Not a word I would use every day, although I can see where it would be a problem for some who value those feminine characteristics.  Yes I have seen it happen and now get the idea, and yes, not in so many words, but yes I have been up against others who do put down my femininity as being a pseudo female at the most polite and I cannot use the words hear for what it is at the worst.   Online, there is little to do about it except leave and block the people who do it and the places it happens, since it affects you much more heavily and negatively than it does the person doing it, and you need freedom from the stress.  The rules here which our "powers that be", namely the staff say we do not put up with members denying the authentic identity of other members.
