Hello from Brazil!

Hi everyone! My name is Jeison, I'm from Brazil as the title says, and I just wanted to introduce myself a little bit.

Well I have some mental problems, I'm bipolar, have depression, anxiety with panic attacks and I stutter. I have no friends at all (not even online), I can't find work and I depend on government aid, I can do a lot of things but no one gives me a chance, like translation, proofreading, etc, and no I will not ask for any donations don't worry :P

So I'm currently a male, but I always felt I was a woman, I just didn't go ahead and start the transitioning is because I still live with my family, and they are very against this sort of thing, they still kinda live in the olden days I guess. But I consider myself trans, even though I have 32 years, receding hair (which may mean I would need to use wigs), can't afford or start in hormones with doctors because of my money being so tight since I help pay the bills here, plus the not acceptance thing.

Also you can refer to me as He/Him, because I am completely male outside, so being called a She or other pronouns doesn't seem right to me.

If anyone wants to help guide me through this process I would be forever grateful

Welcome to Trans Pulse, Jeison!  I'm sure you will like being here, and that you will find some friends here, too.  There are many of us here who share many of the same issues that you have in your life.  Please don't despair; things very often do get better with time.  Keep looking for those solutions you seek.

I hope that someday you will be able to leave your house and start living on your own; it won't solve all your problems but at least you will be away from a difficult and disheartening environment.  I wish you all the best.

HUGS

Welcome to Transgender Pulse Forums Jeison,

The nice thing about forums is we are who we want to be. Posting here reflects your heart and mind, not your physical being. There are people here from all walks of life, and everyone that I've encounter has be friendly, caring, and encouraging. Speaking of encouraging... Living at home with your parents isn't always a bad thing. In some cultures the young woman of the family is required to take a husband and move out, while the young men are required to live with their elders taking care of them and the family compound.

Feel free to join in on any of the conversations and know you are worth, valued, and loved.

Hugs,

Thanks everyone for the kind words and the welcoming!

Yeah it's hard, especially with these mental problems, and my family, well, they pretty much don't like me that much, I am and always was the "black sheep" of the family so to speak because of my problems and my stuttering, and since they also have some prejudice against this and they are always pessimistic about everything in life, well, it makes almost impossible to move on with life.

But I will stop posting on this post, since I think it's just to introduce myself, so maybe I'll move to a better category to discuss this.

Thanks again everyone! :)

Accidents happen.  So do heat-of-the-moment murders, without premeditation or trans-related hate.  It will take a trial to really figure it out.     One thing we can see from this is that it is people in our circles of acquaintances, friends, and partners who are the ones who usually hurt us.  Not someone random. We have to be careful who we trust.

Friday May 17th is IDAHOBIT (International Day Against HOmophobia, BIphobia and Transphobia).   Do you acknowledge or celebrate it? Do you do anything special for it, like taking part in any organized events or activities?   I'm not an activist and I prefer to fly under the radar, but I am slowly becoming aware of important dates. I have been aware of the date of IDAHOBIT for a few weeks now, but other important 'rainbow' dates have not been etched into my brain yet.    I will wear my favorite pride t-shirt as a token acknowledgement of the day, but it probably won't be seen; cool weather here will mean that it will be hidden under a sweater.

Happiness for me comes from being cognizant of the things that make me feel good.   Sunshine.   Pandering to my inner woman.   Knowing that some people in my life really 'know' me.   Vacations, and Eggs Benedict at an alfresco cafe.   My wife and I being telepathic.   Grandchildren.   Music.   Wine!

True.  Every trans death is not a hate crime. There is so much hate expressed by some people, that we kinda get to expect it.

happiness to me is being ME. At all times, and it has yet to happen.

Hello & welcome, giz! Your post makes me remember how excited I was to join here too. I also had queer friends at the time I joined, but any of my trans friends lived a long distance away. So most local queer friends are gay & I felt uncomfortable coming out to them bc I couldn't assume they'd understand genderqueerness. So it was a thrill to join here and immediately have access to do many wonderful, genuine, kind & thoughtful friends-to-be.   Are you saying you're concerned that if you come out to your queer friends that somehow your parents will find out?     My love, I just want to affirm that that's not a weird dysphoria. It's just dysphoria. And we definitely get it. You're in good company here!     Look forward to seeing you around here & getting to know you. I shoot for androgynous appearance as well, leaning towards masculine.   Hope you're having a splendid day!

Listening to a YouTube mix for me and this song came up and I immediately fell in love again and just want to play music with like minded musicians playing OUR music and feel the joy and fulfillment even if no one else gets it. I love to fall into the music....

      What is happiness for you?

Funny.....   The day-centre transportation director told me yesterday morning that I was to receive an award, my picture on the website, etc... for having won the billiards tournament (I knew better).   Later that afternoon he returns to "shake my hand" and tell me, "thanks for participating."   I could have told him that was all I would receive earlier. I'm not well liked by management.
