Hormones and eventful week

I had my appointment with the doctor today and she switched me from patches to IM injections. My estrogen levels were too low on patches. She also prescribed spirolactone, but I have to wait a few weeks before I can start taking it. I have to wait to complete weaning myself off lithium before I can safely take it. Things feel like everything is starting to fall into place. My wife is a nurse, so she will teach me to inject myself. Now I still have to find a therapist in preparation for dealing with insurance for future gender affirming surgery. The civil service test I took went well, and am waiting for the results. It will be nice to start off as a woman at a different agency of the same municipality I have worked for 20+ years. Possibly big pay raise and a shorter commute if I get that that transfer. Plus I would still have my seniority. And to top it off, today is the 10’th anniversary of my first date with my wife.

Congratulations @Theresa on ALL of your victories!

I know chasing the numbers on HRT can be frustrating but it sounds like you have a good Dr.  I started on Spiro first (needed the blood pressure aspect of it too ... works great) and then been on Estradiol (pills) for 5 months.  I am just now finally getting to the dosage and results the Dr (and I) was looking for.

So, I am wishing you all the best in your HRT and Life journey❣️
