Johns Hopkins Study: Trans Surgery Regret Rate Less Than 1 Percent

There is an element of irony on this due to Johns Hopkins own record of treating Trans people and the fact they employed and relied on Paul McHugh, whose doctorate has been nearly trashed since it was not adequately peer reviewed. Said degree producing some of the public outcry about Trans people being universally mentally ill.  I guess the University is trying to get the mud off its reputation with this one.

Of course this outlet does use a pic of someone a little more out there than your average trans person, but whatever

I do not know Carolyn. So many Republican-led legislatures have ignored just about every supportive medical group, including the AMA, American Academy of Pediatrics, and WPATH, that it makes me cringe. Sooner or later people will wake up, but it mystifies me how some of these legislatures come up with anti-trans and anti-LGBTQ legislation when there is so much information supporting our existence.

They're not interested in the actual facts.  Most are just playing to their base, who have decided we are dangerous perverts.

I noticed that too.  Unfortunately, that adds fuel to the "dude in a dress" stereotype.

Considering that the newspaper is the Local News sheet for Sacramento CA. (State Capital Of California) the circulation reflects the city more than a little bit.  I have had to be in the city many times over the years, and the person pictured is not really an oddity for the streets.  I have been in several "drag" venues over the years, and did CD on evenings when I would be at my state agency's central office in male mode the next day, or had been that day.  I never had any problems there and met other state employees in them.  For some, Drag was "night job" and I know there were legislators there on some occasions as well.  Laid back, and we do have some good laws on the books for us.  Over the past few days, I have seen recent, full papers that reflect the same numbers.  The detransitioner mentioned in the article is currently suing a State University and is trying her case in the papers, along with the other Sports woman (Gaines) who does not really have an active law suit, but has been getting her share of attention at our expense.
