Breast Forms Realism

RoseS

Recommended Posts

I have been crossdressing for a around a year now and I now ask the more experienced crossdressers in this subreddit for advice on how to make either a breastplate, breast forms look natural (Id like to start wearing more revealing tops in which a more realistic chest area would be desired) or any other way that this can be achieved.

Go to the bottom of our page, and look at where it says "Sponsorship"  the store there has a variety of products that help your issue.

Hi Rose.  Sorry it has taken me so long to respond to this.  It was a post I missed the first time around.  Anyway, there are lots of ways to make your chest look more feminine.  Honestly, I've never worn a breast plate, but I have friends that wear them.  In my humble opinion, they aren't particularly realistic looking and you always have to find a way to hide the upper edge of the plate.

On most occasions, I wear regular breast forms without any other enhancement and most of the tops I own are vee neck or low cut.  I do have a little extra flesh in my chest these days, which is why I don't need any extra enhancement.  If I'm glamming it up, I will use makeup to enhance my cleavage, but because of the extra work required, I don't do it al the time.  I will say, however, that the makeup option, when done correctly, is really effective for enhancing cleavage.

I have also tried cleavage creators (Vicky mentioned Sponsors that offer them).  They work really well, but tend to get a little uncomfortable if worn for more than a couple of hours.

There are lots of ways to make your chest look more feminine, I'd recommend you try some of the less expensive options before investing in a chest plate.  One thing to always consider, is choosing a quality breast form with a realistic shape, and be sure to pick a size that matches your body.  Bigger isn't always better.  The last thing to remember, is to wear your forms at the correct location on your chest.  A common mistake I see, is girls who wear their forms too high, which can also make your chest look "not quite right."  I hope these recommendations are helpful.  Good luck achieving your perfect chest.

Many moons ago, I occasionally wore bras and breast forms for fetish purposes, but very rarely now (I now prefer bras that actually fit my natural flesh, and it is no longer a fetish). Certain shapes of breast forms suit certain types of bras, so it depends on what your fashion preference is. For me, I preferred retro looking wire free 'granny bras' with wide straps and three-piece cups, which give a slightly point-to-the-sky conical look. I used triangle, not teardrop shaped forms, to suit a D-cup bra. These were of a good quality, very soft, and a little bit concave at the back to cater for my natural shape. They looked completely realistic under any clothing.

I wear a bra of some form every day. If I'm in my androgynous form, it might just be an unlined very low profile bra that hugs my shape and isn't easily detected. Or, it might be a lightly padded bra that gives me just a slight projection and roundness. If someone looks closely enough they can tell I'm wearing a bra and if they give me a hug...well, there's no doubt.

In normal feminine attire, I have a variety of styles of bras that I wear with breast forms. My forms are sized for me as a B cup and I love the shape they give me. Rounded, full but not too large.

I recently upgraded my forms, both in quality and size.  They now have a better proportion with the rest of my body, though there's still no way I can show much cleavage without giving away what I've got in there!

The best part about the new forms is the shape.  They're much more natural.

I've had the same experience after investing in a good quality set of forms. They fit much better and appear more natural under my clothing. I went with a B cup so they aren't big but they just feel right. I agree, though, that it seems impossible to show any real cleavage without exposing the truth that goes along with the "box of boobs" approach to breast development.

I got breast forms from online and not from a sponsor. I just couldn't afford their prices. I spent like 30 dollars for silicone filled ones. I'm getting to the point where I don't need it as I used to. My breast are 42DD and hoping for EE but if I can get E I would be happy.

Oh my gosh, Ashley!! I'm a 42B with my breast forms. I can't imagine wearing a DD or E. You go, girl!

Thank you! I used to be 42C. I had a mammogram last month if I remember correctly and everything checked out just fine! I'm curious if they can get bigger than that. I guess the only thing will suck is that I will have to specially order bras. If only they would actually drop and look like cis women's breasts instead of tubed like.

I thought I’d add something that helped me back in the early days of my transitioning (1985). I had always felt the need to sleep with a bra with breast forms in place under my sleepwear at night. The problem I ran into each night was that even the best and most realistic breast forms always moved during my sleep. I would wake up a few times each night to re-adjust them into place. It was annoying but necessary.

I decided to go to a local medical prosthetic store that conveniently was located only a mile from my home. They made custom made prosthetics for nearly every part of the human body but also sold special bras and breast forms for mastectomy patients. It’s funny thinking about it now because I was so shy and intimidated even buying female outerwear at a department store at the time. However, I was so fed up with these roving breast forms while sleeping, I decided to make an appointment.

Needless to say, The experience was scary at first but the professionals there gave me dignity, affirmation, and discretion during my visit. I was measured and fitted with several sizes of breast forms and bras. After trying on and picking out the bras I wanted and getting my first silicone set of form, I went to the front desk and bought them. I took a risk but this solved the issue for me completely. The extra cloth pocket within each mastectomy bra holds each form firmly in place. These bras and breast forms looked and felt real when out on the town and stayed perfectly in place after coming home and sleeping peacefully throughout the night. The only thing to remember if you wear silicone forms while sleeping…they only lasted me 2 or 3 years before an edge seam would split and have to be replaced. They were expensive back then and so it’s something to take into account if you use them in this way.

Funny addendum: Since physically transitioning, I can’t stand wearing bras to bed. How many of others here feel the same? LOL

I have a pocketed mastectomy bra that is my "go to." I've found it the absolute best for staying in position - but I haven't tried sleeping in it. I think tonight might be the night!!

And, it reminded me that I need to get a few more. They are the best if, like me, you are wearing breast forms.

Your post got me thinking about the bras I have. Over the last year where I began wearing breast forms, I've tried different types and styles of bras. One of the things that bothered me about my forms was that my skin is fairly sensitive and I was always getting rashes on my chest from sweating under the forms. I put tissues under them, anything that would keep them from touching my skin. But I also found they moved around a lot.

I purchased a pocket bra several months ago that has become my "go to." It's just a plain beige bra without frills but it works.

When I read your post I decided to see if I could find something better. I found a company named Delimira that makes a wireless mastectomy sleep bra that's sold on Amazon. They offer various sizes and colors - the bras have a pretty floral design on the cups and wider straps for support. I bought my normal 42B in blue and got it yesterday. I wore it last night to sleep in - my first time sleeping with my forms - and it was very comfortable I ordered two more in different colors this morning.

@Susan R I have to thank you for sharing your experience of wearing a bra and breast forms at night before you had your BA. I've slept that way for the past two nights - with my breast forms and the mastectomy bra I found on Amazon. How wonderfully reassuring it has been to roll over and feel the pressure of my breasts against the bed, to brush against them as I move my arms under the pillow, or just to see the shape of my chest under the covers.

It has done wonders in combatting my nightly body dysmorphia. What a boost to my body image this has been.

I think I'm going to order some inexpensive breast forms to wear at night to save the wear and tear on my more expensive ones though. We'll see how they hold up to the pressure. 🙂

The experience was the same for me @April Marie. I slept much deeper and I woke up each morning feeling so much more restful sleeping with forms solidly in place. For me, wearing breast forms at night started when before I was a teenager. I had no access up to modern breast forms and certainly no way to buy mastectomy bras back then. I wore a basic bra my mom had put in a donation box and two pairs of soft cotton socks. I have some crazy memories of things I did in my youth to combat my GD but regardless, these makeshift concoctions helped me work through it all.

All My Best,

Susan R🌷

Reading your post, I need to comment I have breast forms and sometimes get a chance to wear them to bed. But wearing my lingerie they always fall out so I wear a more full coverage bra to bed so they stay where they are meant to!

My condolences to the people of WA.  A huge warning about that type of politician though, those who broadcast the Anti-Trans message rarely if ever attend to any important legislative issues to benefit their constituency.  They are mostly single trick dogs, whose trick is to empty their food bowl and whine for more food.

This stuff seems to be the major talking point for "conservatives" these days.  Just shows that they don't know what they're talking about, and don't particularly care.

Mother's Day, so I thought I'd do the right thing and cook. So, we got Chinese takeaway! 😆   Actually, we planned it days ago, just thinking that tonight we would treat ourselves. Complete with a lovely bottle of Cab Sav.

Exactly.   A plain old "Good morning" should always suffice, for example, whether the recipient expects a gender specific greeting or not.

This sort of stuff makes my blood boil. A prospective state politician has gained approval from his party's state council to run in their state election next year.   He once stated that the + part of LGBTQIA+ is where pedophiles are categorized.   For clarity, in Australia the Liberal party is our main conservative party. They have lurched further to the right over the past 10 years or so. Our main progressive, union backed party is Labor.   WA Liberal party approves Dr Thomas Brough, candidate who linked LGBTQIA+ community with paedophiles - ABC News

Happy Mother’s Day    I have to be at church earlier than normal for a mic check.  I have been going over what I am to say, both silently reading and reading it aloud.  My concern is that my voice will freeze as it sometimes does.     I felt I was honored very highly yesterday by my minister and supporter on my journey.  He and another minister are Standing together to become the next co-moderators of the Presbyterian Church (USA).  They included me to receive an advance copy of their initial submission.  I was one of only 6 people listed on the email to receive this.  Later this week it will go out to all the voting commissioners that will be in Salt Lake City for the meeting.  I have asked to be allowed to attend the meeting to support him and Rev CeeCee Armstrong, whom he is standing with.    We’ll time to get ready .   Willow

Nup. Not an option. You need to keep going and keep us all in the loop, and we need to keep seeing your beautiful smile!   Party, schmarty. I'm 61 and haven't had a birthday party since I was 30. Even that was just a crummy meal at the pub with a few friends who we have since lost contact with. Don't sweat it.

On behalf of everyone reading your entries here @Sally Stone, THANK YOU for creating such an informative thread. But there is one thing you might have neglected to say at the end, and that is, "And they all lived happily ever after!" ❤️   Reno sounds like a pretty good place to call home. I understand the attraction of living in a place that is not too big but not too small.   I look forward to reading your subsequent posts about specific aspects of your journey.

Hi and welcome. A few things...   1. You're right, you can't trust your friends w/r/t the question of passing. How would they even know if you pass or not? My sister used to do the same thing, telling me that no-one knew I was trans and that to her I just looked like a cis woman. I still don't know if she was serious or just trying to make me feel good, but I learned to not listen to her on that topic.   2. Buuuut, having said that, I thought I looked good, and I think that is all she was really trying to tell me, that she liked how I looked as a woman. Maybe this is obvious, but I feel it gets overlooked: passing and looking good are not the same thing, not even remotely. Your friends (I presume) are trying to tell you that you look good as you are.   3. Having said all that, I think non-passing transmascs have a harder time than us non-passing transfemmes. All I have to do to get gendered correctly 95% of the time is wear a dress and makeup and only a few seriously ignorant folks and diehard transphobes misgender me. For you, it's much harder to find signifiers powerful enough to send the same message.   So in short, I don't have any answers, except that you're right, it sucks, and I hope the situation improves over time. But passing isn't everything. Maybe you're right, and in a less conservative state it wouldn't happen so often, because you'd have more people like you surrounding you. I know that where I chose to live while transitioning has been a big part of making the process a positive experience. I'd hate to be in Texas atm.

Thank you, ladies.   At the time I went from euphoric (my normal state) to not euphoric in an instant, and the lingering thought was one of self-doubt, manifesting itself with the unsolved question that maybe I never really felt like I had the soul of a woman, I just thought I did. I know I'm not the only one to ever feel this way. All part of the ride on this roller coaster I guess.   Yep, and yep. Makes sense now.
