Gov. Noem is a bigot who got caught.  Her state is going to pay $300,000 for her "trans- gression."

This one is mostly about breach-of-contract.  Note who is really winning on this one - the lawyers.  The value of the original contract was $136,000.  The settlement is $300,000 due to legal costs.  Its what happens when folks sign contracts without looking, and then break contract without looking at the possible consequences.  I'm continually  that government folks manage to be ignorant of basic legal issues.

And of course, the state does not admit any liability. While there are parts of South Dakota that are beautiful, there is a darkness of the minds in that state. Of note, another loss for the Rs. How cool is that...

In a sort of related-unrelated news, Gov. Noem of South Dakota has been banned from the Oglala Sioux Nation's reservations because of her immigration stance.
