Yup, it's kinda tough being a trans ally these days, especially for former corporate allies.  Better to move on to something less controversial, and less risky to the bottom line.  🙁

I think its also that people (and employers) are tired of the whole thing.  When bathroom bills first started showing up, I think there was more shock and outrage....but neither of those things has much staying power.  Like the proverbial frog in the pot, people have gotten used to the increasing heat.

I can't think of anything more dangerous than Me walking into a Men's restroom.  In fact, men in a Men's restroom are probably more likely to commit 'sexual misconduct'. 

It's the same old stereotypes, and I think corporations have finally figured out their protests and economic clout are not working anymore, and yes, the Frog proverb as @awkward-yet-sweet said.  It will take voters and votes to make the changes.

I have had more men think I got too close to their tree house with the No Girls Allowed sign on the ladder than to any mild suspicion or pushback from women when I use those RR's. .  We don't have the baloney of the laws here in CA. and  being Trans is NOT a defense to assault and battery here.  The point is that some action defined in the sexual assault or child endangerment (etc) must have been actually done and not just "could have happened in a "Galaxy, far far away.".   To date since 1846 when the state was admitted to the union, there have been no cases where that happened. 

 

I simply think that many non-responding well wishers have just gotten tired of it all and have decided that they will handle things in their workplaces as they see fit and to the devil with the states themselves.
