Do you to anything special on St. Patrick's Day? Green beer? Green clothes? Corned beef? Bailey's?

I wear green when out in public.  Yesterday, we were out at an antiques show and, since it was St. Patrick's Day Eve, I wore my bright green coat.  I wore a green sweater for last night's Zoom meeting.

When I greet my wife, I say "Top of the mornin' to ye!"  I don't like beer, and green beer sounds exceptionally repulsive.

But I am actually Irish, so I don't have to pretend.  💚🇮🇪   I don't think I need to do anything special for the day.

An Irish heritage girl here.  My favorite meal spot after church (where purple is appropriate since it is Lent) has a special on Corned Beef, cabbage & boiled potato's today, which is a good lunch.  Music by The Chieftains and Wolfe Tones is programed for the couple hours I will be home after that before taking a load of St. Paddy's decorated cookies to my Chorus's rehearsal this evening.   Other than that, not much.

Don't have a drop of Irish blood, but I do love the music.

I'm at a coffeeshop, wearing a green dress, partly for fun, and partly so I don't get pinched.  A pint of Guinness would be nice, but I don't have any at the moment.

I don't think I could drink a green beer… yucky.

My family is multi-cultural...we're just about everything except Irish.  Greek, Russian, Mexican, Argentine, Finnish, Vietnamese, German, Native American.... My husband has a tiny bit of Irish ancestry in the far distant past, but that's about it.  😆 Being neither Catholic nor Irish, St. Patrick's Day it isn't a thing for us.  And since we're in the South, beer and other alcohol isn't served in restaurants or sold in stores on Sunday.

I forgot to wear green today but I do have some Bailey's that I'll drink.

Not really, no. A couple weeks ago I had a hankering to make Irish soda bread not realizing it was technically premature for the season lol. At least there was plenty of buttermilk in stock at the grocery. That may be the only time of year that would warrant a run on it. This soda bread is whole wheat with raisins & has the consistency of a big ol scone. 😋1165661682_PXL_20240301_2022386312.thumb.jpg.eee406589e9674d0e8426d9492aa3481.jpg1837393995_PXL_20240301_2031023933.thumb.jpg.a5897e6ec56fbe438552e81ac69efadc.jpg
