Prosthetic breasts

I slept in my ameona breast forms and one of them stuck to my skin and tore the backing. I was camping and it was well below freezing so I hadn’t wanted them to freeze. In the morning when I went to adjust it, I noticed the tear. The year is about 3/4” long How can I repair this? Would a tegaderm fix this?

Cut a piece of a plastic food bag about an inch wide and 2 inches longer than the length of the rip, and use Superglue.  The Tegaderm patch's adhesive will release after several wearings.

I’ll try this soon. Does it need to use flexible silicone superglue or is regular cyanoarcrylate superglue suitable?

@Lorelei       Back when it happened to me, all I had was the regular stuff.  It depends on which surface the rip is on.  If it is the inside against your body, the plain kind will do it but the outside against the bra is a different situation.

Thank you for the advice. I’ll do that soon.

@Lorelei I hope the repair works for you!

I often wear a mastectomy bra with my forms so they don't touch my skin directly. I found that I often sweat underneath them if they are directly against my chest and the mastectomy bras solve that problem.

I just recently found a pair of inexpensively priced sleep-rated forms that I wear at night and save my good quality forms for everyday wear. I also found some nice wireless mastectomy sleep bras made by Delimira on Amazon that are very comfortable.

I tried the superglue and it didn’t stick to the plastic bag. So I am using some chicken cutlet forms until I find a cheap replacement or go more permanently and get top surgery. I just need to get a therapist note for insurance to cover the surgery. I’ll use Tegaderm repair on the ripped on special occasions like my cousins wedding.

@MaeBe, Good luck and best wishes on the new start in the Great Northwest. I don’t know a parent that didn’t call out their kids for being drunk or high as rebellious teenagers. I just told my teens that they can’t kid a kidder, and I was a teenager early 1970s we could drink legally at 18 so I have tons of experience spotting drunk kids.    As for the poetry, I liked it.  We never have enough support bras or tee shirts in the rotation.    Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Oh my @KymmieL, I’m sorry you’re on the job hunt again. They didn’t seem to be a good fit for you anyway. You deserve to be treated fairly and not undermined by competing owners who don’t communicate well.    Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Greetings everyone,   This is my introduction, I'm old and like donuts!  Let's see, what else...   I started my transition VERY recently, 5/17, after feeling like I've been uncomfortable doing it for like 20 years.  I lived in states where LGBT rights are strained, and have recently moved to a more friendly state.  I'm short, like gardening and crafts and rain.  Still a huge mixture of nervous, scared, excited and elated to finally be in a position where I can start.  I'm kind of easily excited, have the attention span of a humming bird does that to one, and usually medicate that with video games.  Not much else about me for now.  Started exercising so I can get my weight down as part of the transformation.  Still, I joined as I have questions and wanted to be with like minded folks.   Also, love trading recipes.
