Mtf Hrt And Heart Disease

I have a strong family history of heart disease and am extremely concerned that HRT may increase my risk. I have seen some research indicating a DECREASED risk for MTF's on estrogen which would be absolutely fantastic.

I am 48 and have done everything I can possibly think of to reduce my risk my whole life. I do not have any known heart problems, am thin, in good physical shape, eat right, exercise, regimen aspirin & Omega3's, a beer a day, non smoker and had a clean nuclear treadmill a few years ago. If HRT is going to increase my risk, it would be a very disppointing show stopper for me. Does anyone have iny information on this?

The best advice I can give is to ask your doctor. I'm not aware of a transgender study but could be wrong. We have had some with heart disease here es[ecially severe cases who were taken off hormones. In any case have a doctor monitor you.

That is one thing that I fear.....

Probably irrationally, if the doctor were to find a heart problem in me and have to take me off hormones....I don't think I could bear that.

To be stuck partially transitioned...OMG...that scares me!

Like a bad transporter accident!

So, take good care of yourself and eat healthy and put down those Twinkies!
