Drinks (non-alcoholic) And Gender.

I was visiting a friend of mine recently and we went out to dinner. It was a party of five, a married couple, my friend (male), his former coworker (female), and myself.

I noticed that oddly enough, the two males had ordered Mountain Dew, the two females had ordered Pepsi, and I had a Slice.

I wonder if anyone has ever done a study on gender and drink choices.

No one ever offers Mountain Dew at restaurants over here. :(

I believe that has something to do with a law involving caffeine and soda.

I don't think anyone has done a study. Maybe, but never heard of it. It could be interesting, or it may turn up that both genders drink the same things. I would think girls would tend to drink more fruity drinks, while the guys would drink more of the other drinks like Coke. It's just an idea, and so far, it doesn't really have much back up since my mom loves Coke, and the people you went to dinner with ordered the opposite drinks.

I've always like Mountain Dew because of it's electrical orange juice type taste. Thats the best way I can describe it. It's very good but I can only drink a few glasses of it a week or the taste loses it's appeal. There is just too much sugar in it.

In general though if the drink has strawberries, cherries, or just about any berry in it I'll probably like it. Just please for the love of god don't make me drink any more cough syrup mmhhm I mean vodka. *gag*

I like diet ginger ale, will ask for a diet Coke on occasion, and cannot stand Pepsi. Anything not diet is far too sweet for me to swallow. Also, I cannot have caffeine - even from chocolate :(. It causes me some distress.

I'm like Allison, the caffiene causes me distress. I dropped the coffee and tea as soon as the doc said to but the other stuff......I used to do the chocolate pretransition though. On T however the want faded. And then there was the sugar and bloating aspect of soda..... two facets that convinced me in the end to let the carbonated drinks go all together. Still and all, to answer the question for when I did do those things , I was alllllll about Coke. Two cases a week and I was the only drinker. In the end though, once you really are "off" it you don't miss it . And I interject that for Allison, so she knows it gets easy ;)

At home I drink soda with like vanilla sometimes and I like the orange and grape sodas and cream soda but it's like never around I like the orange and vanilla ice cream floats. I also like lemonade, apple juice and vanilla soy milk. apparently I like vanilla.

Also at like restaurants I drink root beer mostly it's like I don't even look for any other drinks anymore it's so lame lol.

When I go to restaurants I always get a Coke or Pepsi... simply because they're just easier to order, a restaurant will always have one of the two. Whenever I try to order a Mountain Dew/Sprite/Root Beer they never have any.

i rarely drink soda, but when i do, usually its a coke or a Dr. Pepper. never anything diet, i cant stand that stuff. if i want a soda, i'm going for the real thing. its hard for me to appreciate coke now, because i got to try it with actual sugar, way better than the other stuff. i used to like root beer a whole lot, but hormones made me not care for it as much. oh, and anything from a glass bottle always wins. good stuff there :D
