This week just passed the only thing I could think about was jewelry. I got the idea of buying a ring (for some reason the idea of buying a girls ring only just struck me) and so on Saturday I set out in search for the perfect ring.

At most places I just let them assume it was a gift for a girl. Only at a few places did I actually let the girl realise I was buying a ring for myself. It was a lot of fun asking to get me measured up to see what my ring size was, then when they started getting out the displays of guys rings for me to look at, I would just say "um, I'm actually interested in the ladies rings " and they would say "oh I'm sorry" and smile so sweetly and show me to the displays of gorgeous diamond and stone rings, with sapphires, rubies, emeralds and all the other pretty stones they have.

Of course they have a lot of created stones, which I didn't like the thought of much, and eventually decided on, well two rings actually... One with 3 small natural rubies in a diagonal line in the centre with two bands of diamonds around it in a pair of offset semi-circles, and the other with the gold ring through the centre, and with a white gold bit coming out on one side, crossing over the top (studded with diamonds) and merging back in on the other side. Both rings look absolutely adorable and I can't wait for them to come back (in two weeks) from being re-sized.

The worst part is not having girly fingers because the rings take so long to come back from being resized. I would care if I had to pay double if I could have got them back on the day I bought them :(

Just thought I'd share. Anyone else wear pretty jewelry? My ears aren't pierced and I don't really have any other jewelry, but if I like this (and I'm sure I will) I am certain to get a necklace or two as well :D

I'm so lucky having a close friend who runs her own jewellery-making business. She makes lovely pendants etc for me (as well as helping me with my clothes shopping, hair-removal etc).

Oh yes! Jewelry! My weakness! My biggest realization was I needed to rid myself of the cheap stuff and buy quality - well... beter quality anyway. I of course love gold jewelry, who doesn't, but with gold prices what they are its extremely expensive. But I also look good in solid silver. So I go that route fairly often.

And my ears are pierced - have been for 25 years I guess - when noticed I would say my old theatrical days - played a pirate. Now? No one cares. And I have 40-50 pair of earrings, my favorite being simple hoops. I love Jody Coyote brand. And I buy too much - especially the dainty dangly type. And I have two fine bracelets I wear male or female presentation all the time. Can't help it! And an ankle bracelet, always - which outs me a bit I guess when male presenting and wearing shorts. And a gold chain with a gold cross - a gift from my wife - a dainty women's cross that also sort of outs me because I use a short chain so it shows. BEAUTIFUL.

But Jewelry? A MUST!

Play with the cheaper bangles and chains, find what you just adore wearing, then slowly replace them with higher quality duplicates! I don't have real diamonds yet! maybe after i save for SRS and stuff. Maybe I can find a man who will give me diamonds - that would be nice...

Hi Flora,

I love bracelets (especially cuff braceletes). Necklaces, simple with a line and a single stone or feather, or small medallion.

I love earrings too, but my ears are not pierced (at the moment), so I wear the clips.

I am not so much into rings myself (interferes with my guitar playing).

Hi Flora

I love jewelry, diamonds are a girls best friend, but I like braclets and earrings most of all. Ive had both ears preiced for years. So I have a weak spot for earrings,And I love braclets too. Ive been told I wear to many braclets at one time, but I say they get lonely on my wrist alone so the more the marrier for me. Finger rings I cant wear male or female I dont like them on my hands..

But enjoy them they sound beautiful..

Thats interesting, it seems as though there aren't many 'ring' 'girls' out there. I guess i've never worn a ring before either, so I sure hope I don't hate it! The ones I bought are solid 9ct gold, so average qualty I guess. I think I was drawn to the ring more than the bracelett because I wanted it to have jewels on it. I think the next things I will be looking at are necklaces. I do like the idea of clip on earrings, although so far I have not been able to find any :-(

You can actually buy clip on backs that attach to the posts of any pierced earring.

That opens up a whole lot of choices.

Love ya,

I can't get my ears pierced so I started looking at the old screw posts. The antique shops are great for these and you find some really nice pearls and other greats designs. I love the screw posts. They remind me of feminine style before piercing and have become a big part of my dress up routine

I got one of them!!

I bought two rings that day and both went off to be resized at the same time, but two weeks later, only one of them was ready, so I'm attaching a picture here ^_^

I hardly ever take it off! I wear it in the shower, to bed, to work, everywhere! A few people have mentioned it, which I sorta wish more people would say something. I know why girls like it when people mention their jewellery

Tell me what you think

I love both rings Flora.

My favourite of the two is the one with just the diamonds with the white gold through it.

I haven't really thought of buying rings before but now you have gotten me thinking.

Hey thanks! <3

I got both of these because the one with 3 small (genuine) rubies was simply too stunning to ignore, and I simply just had to have it, but the other one was almost as gorgeous but the price was unbeatable! only AU$175, less than %40 orig price. I couldn't decide so I thought "Why can't I have both?"

Actually it was a lady behind the counter who suggested I get the other one too (even though it was from a different store). She was so nice to me, and was delighted to hear I was getting it for myself.

I too wear both all the time (except to bed, last time i tried i woke up with dints in my fingers cuz i sleep with hands under my pillow). I would love to have a 3rd or even a 4th, though but I couldnt justify paying for that yet sadly :( and its hard to think of someone to ask if they could buy me one for my birthday

It makes my hands look so special now, and it feels like they have belonged there my whole life. I have had compliments from a number of girls already on how pretty they are (my rings, not my hands lol). No blokes seem to notice/care either which is good in a way lol

rachael, if you like the idea of getting a ring, go for it! It looks great and there are a lot of blokes with jewellery, however they will never have quite as nice rings. The male selection is so dull imo, girls rings just add that little extra sparkle ^_^

I might just do that Flora, maybe I can talk my wife into buying a ring for me for my birthday. :D

I think I already know the answer to that. :(

My wife has this silver Pandora charm bracelet that I simply love, but she won't let me wear it.

She's very protective of her stuff.

OMG I love jewelry, my mom pierced my right ear when I was thirteen and I had the other pierced the day I went full time, I just couldn't wait. When I went down to my grandfathers funeral I was given a choice of a big diamond men's ring of a small gold and tigers eye ring I took the smaller ring because I felt it was more fem' god my mom went off on that one. But I have so much jewelry it's unreal and couldn't describe it in short order so I won't. But I do get ton's of compliments from my choices so I'm a very happy lady on those grounds.

I don't have any jewellery at present. :(

But that is going to change.

It's strange but before my TG nature resurfaced I never wore any jewellery not even a watch. Maybe this was a part of my denial process?

Link to comment

Yeah now that you mention it I have only recently (within the last year) started wearing a watch, too. I guess that was part of my beginning also, in a way. Of course it's a sports watch, I don't think I will ever be able to pull off a ladies watch, but I also have a classy mens rolex knockoff which looks pretty good on too.

Rachael, tell her if she gets you a diamond ring, you'll get her one! Girls love diamonds so I wonder if she will pass up the opportunity just to stop you getting one ^_^

Good luck!

I completely understand the feeling. It’s much like watch a kettle come to boil. Looking back the changes were much like that boiling kettle…the less anticipation, the faster the results seem to have come or became noticeable to me. I do have to say that there was sort of an immediate placebo effect in just the fact that I knew I was finally making it real and that the process had begun. I was immediately at peace with my decision which up until that point I kept second guessing all the negative possibilities it might create. Almost 6 years in, I wouldn’t change my path in any way.   And a big congratulations for being able to make that leap toward authenticity. That is a huge milestone!   Best of luck on your journey, Susan R🌷

I'm not sure that's quite true.  If it was done by private entities?  Like most landfills here are privately owned, as are power plants.  I can't see a reason they couldn't be combined.    Right now, garbage companies in my area harvest the methane produced by the landfill to run their trucks.  The put all sorts of pipes in among the layers of the landfill to collect it.  Compressed natural gas (CNG) can be used with only minor modifications to existing engines, and many truck stops are adding CNG pumps as some fleets transition to it.    A fuel's usefulness is often measured in BTU's per gallon.  CNG has approximately the same BTUs as diesel or gasoline (138,000 or so.)  Pure ethanol and E85 have much less - like 76,000 BTUs.

Well, after a week on HRT, as many would probably have predicted, I've noticed exactly zero mental or physical changes. Patience appears to be the key here as hard as that will be after finally getting my transition moving. Guess I just need to sit back and enjoy the ride. Hope that my first blood tests after two months will show hormone levels moved acceptively.

A therapist appt is a great place to dress femme, If you want to!   It also sounds like a great safe venue to speak softer and more feminine, if that’s where you want to go.     Not sure the rules now.  But if you’re seeking HRT you might have to show them something to convince the money system that your case is medically necessary.  Obvious feminine clothes and mannerisms displayed by a human assigned male at birth (perhaps this is you?)  could be check marks towards them pushing your case through.     Please be whatever brings you love for who you are.   I have pursued this all the way through obstacles, mistakes, humiliation, and pain. And I  am so so so grateful  Hugs 😊 🌈🌈

Puzzled.  My United Healthcare Medical Advantage DOES cover gender affirming surgeries.  The HARD part is finding a surgeon that's in-network.  If the surgeon is out of network, the coverage is 40%/60% (they pay 60%).    Sadly, the surgeon I'd like to have, Dr Russell Sassani, in south Florida, is out-of-network and requires full payment prior to surgery.  I'm certain that there have been insurance issues for him and others, in the past.  Most GOOD surgeons for trans surgeries don't submit insurance, though they WILL help you with the codes, etc.  Actually, he does accept some regular insurance and original Medicare.     Anyway, I hope you were able to get your surgery or at least closer to being able to do so.

Welcome Madelyn, glad you are here and best wishes on your journey!!   I started HRT about two months ago... Had my initial appointment in December... Other than a bra underneath my clothes, I likely didn't look feminine at all ... I was nervous as heck but the doc put me at ease...   Just be yourself... do what feels comfortable for you ... The pace is up to you... Remember, you are one of a kind and have inestimable worth...    EasyE

I have been creating a space to be expressive. It's def not completed yet, I have loads of ideas still. Thinking about re-painting, maybe a light pastel purple or light pink, with a satin gloss. Honestly I'm hung on which would look best. Leave a comment if you think it would look better pink or purple. This area is a combination Man-Cave / She Shack. This is my sacred space, I think it's coming out well so far. I love this room, it inspires my creativity. Tho, I think there's not much man left in the cave lol.

Then there is how FDR is revered, and the ridiculous reluctance of the left to ever say anything negative about Biden.  It destroys their credibility.  Obsessed with Trump, they ignore how much worse Biden is.

Oh…. Now I get what the transgender agenda is.  I missed it.   I just didn't realize he was running again.   Silly me.   I'm going to quit now.  I've already been an ass
