The Bird And The Key

The bird and the key (by me)

Have you heard? There was a bird, who had the most beautiful feathers.

She had a beautiful call, she was wisest of all, this bird of golden feathers.

But this wonderful sage was kept in a rusty cage, and nobody ever saw her.

She hated the cage, it was like minimum wage, she tried and tried to get out.

But then she found a little hope, with which she could cope, until she was able to get out.

For there was a key, able to set her free, just a small ways away.

As the bird grew, she felt she knew, she could get the key, make her dreams come true.

She grew bigger, felt it was a sign, thought 'it's time to grab that key of mine'

Then she started to swing, threw the cage with her wing, grabbed the key, and started to sing.

'Patience', she sang, 'can be a horrible thang'(sic, she was kinda into rap at the time),

'But in the end, your patience can mend, the wound cut by the rusty blend of unease and yearning'

>< kinda long, but i liked it. I'd say it ties with looking as my favorite...

Hello, welcome to the poet's corner of the playground

There aren't that many here now but do look around

I've been getting kind of lonely how about you

Some others come in and posted one or two

Then it seems they just go away

I hope you have come to stay

I have been writing for it seems oh so long

But after a while things just start to go wrong

Then I post a very depressing dirge

No one wants to read about that urge

So I wait for my muse and let joy abound

And guess what there are friends all around
