Hmm..good idea.

Should I use it Edward James Lastname or James Edward Lastname. Which one do you think sounds better?

It depends entirely on your last name. What will your initials be? When I married Donna I had the option of taking her last name, which starts with an S. My initials would have been A S S. I chose to keep my maiden name.

Depending on the last name I think That James Edward will give you the nick names that you will like better.

Edward James sounds very proper but James Edward is easier to say.

How was that for no help at all?

Hey Never,

I selected Nicholas, not sure why, just came out to me. I will tell you this when your name finds you, you will know beyond a shadow of a doubt.

Well, my last name begins with an A. So no weird initial things, I hope.

JEA or EAJ

:banghead: I can't decide.

LOL..can you tell I'm not a very decisive person?

If you go with EJA people will call you Ejah (like Egypt with an a in place of the pt)

I like JEA.

Personally I wouldn't worry about the initials that much (they don't spell out anything nasty)

The thing is what would you like to be called every day?

Would it be James or Edward? Lets try this.

HI Edward

Hi James

Which one sounds better to you? :D

Personally I like James :P

LOL JEA!

That's cool! James Edward A. Sounds good to me.

But, like Brenda said, when your name finds you, it will be almost impossible to ignore.

I know how to sort this out.

At the next big party, which I believe will be on August 2nd - the First Anual Laura's Playground Offical Transgendered Pride Day or FALPOTPD just to add a bit of confusion - I will wait until we have a huge crowd and I will run into the room and shout, "Hey, James!"

If you turn around, that's your name. :)

LOL good plan!

LOL, I think we should have a big reunion thing. Where everyone comes :D

Probably wouldn't be possible, though, considering we're all from different countries :(

For a while now, I've been trying to decide on a name I can use for my male "side". There's quite a few that I like, and I'm not sure which one I like the best.

I'd post a picture to see which one suits me the most, but I haven't had my hair cut yet and I still look very feminine ¬¬

I have bright red hair (dyed) and I'm into the whole Goth/Punk thing. I'm quite a grumpy person sometimes (LOL) and I tend to get angry easily. I like anime and manga, reading and listening to music. I also love writing.

So, that's me in a nutshell, I hope that helps you understand what suits me the most.

OMG TWIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If I were to describe myself that would be it, except for the anger part and the hair, and I would say metalhead/goth, not goth/punk. Spooky. I picked Marquis because it makes me think of Marquis de Sade, the author of 120 Days of Sodom, which is in my opinion a good book, albeit a disturbing, violent, sexually explicit book.

Say, when you pick your new name you have to start an introduction form.

Maybe you can get some more cookies and cocoa from sally and Donna Jean.

I've never heard of him before, I'm going to look him up XP

WOOT! Twin! LOL I'm working on the anger part. I'm becoming more chilled out XD which I hope is a good thing (it is for everyone around me anyway).

This is not uncommon.  I started out going to the therapist in androgynous clothing: from the women's department, but plausibly masculine.  What made it easier was when I started going to a trans peer support group.  Most of the people there were presenting fully feminine, so I looked out of place in my androgynous clothing.  The peer pressure made it easier to dress in skirts.   I started out changing in a gender-neutral bathroom near the meeting room.  But I soon started wearing skirts in the car to and from the meetings.   Yes, it was nerve-wracking at first, but I soon realized that no one was looking and no one cared.    You can do this.

In my last session my therapist is starting to suggest that I need to start exploring my gender identity in a more tangible way through wearing feminine clothing at least during sessions.  I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around her seeing me actually en femme.   I love and trust her, but the thought of being visibly feminine is scaring (and thrilling) me.  Is this a common thing in gender therapy?  How do I get past the fear?  More importantly, what should I wear?

I felt the urge to date and felt just like a teenager again. I have recorded my journal titled Ashley's Life From Start to Present. I was very moody and agitated and happy. I think it was my body's way of being in shock. After about two months it got better. Remember that you aren't the only one transitioning because your wife is too. Consider yourself lucky because I lost mine because of it and so have many others. Just enjoy the ride.

I'm sorry for asking so many questions about your situation. I'm in your camp and believe you should be able to be whoever you feel you need to be. I guess it the Union Shop Stewart coming out in me. I want you to be treated fairly as well as respectably. You're human, you're a client of theirs. Especially if you're paying money to be there.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Views, terminology, and aspects of how events came to be....aren't those directly related to the news item?  If not, I'm rather confused.

Second warning, this has gotten far and apart from the NEWS item that it started out with and is becoming a flat out battleground over political leanings and terminology.

Welcome to Lefty Land.... a festive theme park full of sparkles and unicorns, a perfect place except for one evil orange dragon wearing a blond wig.    I'm always amazed at the "flexibility" of definitions.  One person's f@scist seems like a centrist to others.  One person's "moderate" looks to others like the 2nd coming of Fidel Castro.  A normal marriage a century or two ago is now a criminal offense, and relationships that used to be a criminal offense are now open, normal marriages.  Pedophiles now want to be called "minor attracted persons" and teenagers are now defined as children.  A Republican in NY or CA would be a Democrat just about anywhere else.  I'm certainly no advocate for relativism, these are just observations.    What I find interesting about this Australian candidate is the attitude that he shouldn't be allowed to run for office.  Why?  Just because his views are different, or even offensive?  Who makes that determination?  Can an election really be open and fair if it is barred to candidates who are not "politically correct?"  Here in the USA, we can openly have candidates who are f@scist or any other thing they want to be, no real restrictions aside from eligibility requirements related to age, location, citizenship, and criminal record.
