I suck so badly at introductions. xD I've been staring at an empty text box for a couple of hours now, trying to figure out what I should say, rofl. I guess formalities would be a good place to start. My name is Ryan; Zandra's a nickname I've taken on, so feel free to call me by either. ^_^ I found out about this site from another forum I frequent, but activity tends to be a bit too low for me.

Anywho, I'm 24 and an MtF. I've been open with myself for about 4 years now, and over that time I've come out to just about all my close circle of friends (and some of their parents), all of which have been very supportive. I also have a girlfriend, whom I've been with for nearly 4 years. We met at a convention where I first dressed as a female character, to kind of test the waters. She's known since Day 1 and has been with me every step of the way.

My family still doesn't know, and I'm worried about coming out to my grandparents (whom I live with). I've dropped hints by acting and dressing more "myself" around them, for a time, hoping to gauge a reaction from them, but things didn't go as well as I'd hoped. My grandma doesn't mind/care because she has "bigger issues to deal with", however.. my grandpa got to the point of not talking to me anymore because of my "dressing weird". I'm pretty sure my mom knows something and accepts it; she's even bought me some girl clothes when we've gone shopping. She's at odds with my grandparents probably for good at this point, so I have to limit my contact with her if I value having a roof over my head lol.

I'm unfortunately stuck at pre-therapy thanks to my lack of funds. My job of two years, which I was barely scraping by on, was a victim of the economy crash and went under back in December. ;_; I haven't let this stop me from expressing myself. I'm mostly full-time when I'm not at home. It's still a bit nerve wracking going out in public, though. I think I do a pretty decent job at passing. I do get looks and stares, which make me so uneasy my stomach turns, even when some of them turn out to be the good kind lol.

Hope I didn't ramble on for too long. :x That wall of text looks pretty big, actually. I guess I'll shut up now before I write another two paragraphs. xD

Welcome Welcome Welcome

I think your introduction is fine. It's hard to get a start sometimes and it gets easier as you go. I am older, seriously senior really, but I have the same needs and life as you do in a way. I am married and my wife supports me, lost my job during the economic turn-over, but just started back. Thank goodness.

But I am in therapy and have been on HRT for a while - and will transition fully, so those awkward times you have? Yes, doing that right now in public. I live full time at home and am partially out in public - I mean I dress gender appropriate but its very casual so I pass half the time I guess, look a bit strange the rest of the time.

You are in quite a situation with your living conditions, sort of a compromise. I suppose if it works don't try to fix it. Eventually you will need to get a gender trained therapist if you want to have access to options. They do cost money, so I suppose you will have to get where you can afford one.

So anyway - look around and see what interests you. There are a lot of young people you age here! And post some questions, post some opinions - we are very friendly here.

Glad to meet you - and if you are comfortable use your real name - which I see as Zandra by the way! Grin

Welcome! :)

Don't worry, we all are very friendly and the mods kick the butt of meanies (you'll never see them anyway, the mod have that in control). Anyway, your introduction is just fine, I'm happy for you having lot of supports, you're really lucky! By the way, even though if your grandparents don't approve, don't forget they live in the old fashion way, so don't worry if they are rude or anything!

Now, have fun around here, there is HEAPS of information here, from all kind. You will be happy with the infomation you are curious about in here. I don't think there is a better place to find them! ;) Oh and I am a 16 years old girl in a male body but luckily, I know how to keep happy and live life to the fullest! :D

Woot! Have fun xoxo

Good Morning Zandra,

I may be a little late welcoming you, you have already met some of our wonderful people and I just want to be sure you know just how friendly we are so I have baked a fresh Coffee Cake for this morning.

We Southern girls of my age group feel that it s just plain impolite to invite someone in without offering them so refreshments.

We usually serve hot cocoa, but I also have some coffee (since it is a coffee cake :) ) and hot water for tea.

Welcome to the family.

Love ya,

Sally

I could be described, I suppose, as a RWNJ.   A little stereotyping seems to be going on.  Don't complain about Trans stereotypes if you turn around and stereotype others.  A lot of RWNJs are actually decent people and get called that by people who pick up on one or two alleged beliefs.  I would rather single out influential individuals of whatever camp and call them to correction.   Trans folk are a small minority, even as small minorities go.  There are probably a lot more RWNJs running around than there are trans folk.

They cut a lot of trees here as well.  A lot of them toward the coast end up chipped up and sent to Europe to burn in power plants.  That bothers me, seems like a dumb idea.

Most likely.   Unfortunately this was expected.  I expect it will be the norm in any GOP controlled state that hasn't already done it.  So much effort expended against so few.  I certainly haven't seen my area being overrun by trans kids.   And yeah, I fully expect them to go after my HRT next. I think those that are railing against us are much more dangerous than some non-binary high school sophomore.

Her name is Sunny and she is so much fun. But, as you said @KymmieL, it is a challenge with a new puppy. Thankfully our 13 year old Lab is taking the addition in stride and being supremely tolerant.

It should be the league's business whether it allows trans women to play, not the park's.   (They seem to be inclusive - good on them)

Sticking my neck out here, but that's what I see the RWNJ's doing all the time! They always need someone or something to "fight". Everything is a contest to them; there's always a battle to be had, an opponent to defeat, a dragon to slay, then another, and another.    *Sigh* if only they'd put their energy into working with people instead of against them.

I think i became much more emotional overall.  Perhaps because use a topical E i haven't had the swings that some folks feel but i can laugh  and cry so much easier, sometimes over situations i would never have seen before.  Perhaps my age has something to do with it, but i am also much more peaceful and accepting of the storm life keeps presenting.   Hugs,   Charlize

I think the interpretation of the question is always going to provide a wide array of answers. Do I have a rich inner life? Yes! Why? Good question!   Circumstances often dictate how we feel within ourselves. I don't have to deal with work anymore and we've been jus' cruzin ever since. I don't have to fix anything, literal or otherwise. My wife and I live a relatively simple life and we are true partners, but deep inside, I'm not answerable to anyone except myself. So, how's that going? Well, since I came out to myself, which happened before I stopped working, I have felt an inner glow that was never apparent before. It is permanent now and it sustains me. How? Effed if I know! All I know is that even if I have down days, and there certainly have been a few, my heart, mind and soul are still smiling. I think it comes from a realization that I am finally happy just to be me.

I had to look this acronym up.  That certainly has never been part of the LGBTQ community!  Politicians simply attempt to use peoples disgust to create the hate or fear they can "fight" against to win support and power.   Hugs,   Charlize

Congrats, @April Marie on your new fur kid. As the mom to a 1 yr old fur kid. I know what you are going through. LOL.   Back to work after a good weekend. I hope that work doesn't drag my good weekend down. However, I believe it is wishful thinking. I will do the best that I can, if that is not enough. They can jump in a fing lake.   I have another week until my therapist appointment. So I hope I can make it. it seems my depression is getting worse. Can it, is there something lower that major?  Especially when dealing with work. So, I know I have to get out of there. I have put in for the parts at the local GM. Probably, be like Ford. OH, well nothing ventured nothing gained.      Hope everyone has a good day. Hugs, Kymmie

If what you mean by defemination  is that folks are doubting or refusing to believe your feminity i'm sure others here have felt that.  I know i have in the past.  It seems to be part of the continuous attempt by some to see us all quietly hiding in the closet.   I don't fit in there anymore.   Hugs,   Charlize
    • Mirrabooka
      Yay!!! 😀 What's her name?
    • Mirrabooka
Yep, I can see that too, especially if satire goes wrong.  I can totally understand why the uneducated hoi polloi think that gender identity and sexual preference (and now, pedophilia) are one and the same, and it weaponizes their bigotry. I touched on this in another thread recently when I asked the question whether the LGBTQIA+ umbrella was actually too inclusive and should be split, in an attempt to stop this sort of nonsense. I don't know the answer; while I think it is important for non-cis and non-het folk to band together, it leaves us wide open to attack.

Good morning, everyone!   Sorry I've been absent so much. I truly miss the interaction with you all.    We have a new yellow Lab female puppy in the house as of Saturday so it's a challenge to find time to be here as we get her settled into a schedule, work on housebreaking and training, etc.    So, I'll check in as I can...when I can get a few minutes as she sleeps.   She slept 6 hours last night so we're making progress and we've been attentive to her schedule so no accidents in the house as of now.   She's consistently following the Sit command already - the wonder of puppy treats.    Be safe!!
