Hello everyone.

My name is Daniel and I'm 21 years old.

Since recently I think I found out that I am androgyne, but am still needing a bit more confimation.

Currently I'm living with two other people in a flat.

I will soon move to my own flat, but I wanted at least to introduce me here before I won't have regular access to the internet anymore.

Starting Tuesday I might not visit here anymore, because of that.

I am shy and usually do not talk much.

I hope my confusion clears soon.

So, nice to meet you.

Daniel,

hm, i think i write something in german "Welcome". Right now its hard to write more i have a broken left wrist. Too stupid to ride a motorbike.

Just wait for the other and their hello and i am sure Sally will offer some of her cookies. Look around, ask as many questions as u want and everyone is friendly here.

(something like bye)

Welcome to the forums Daniel.

I am Sally and I have a plate of fresh baked cookies and some cocoa for you so sit down and get comfy while we wait for some of the others.

First thing is that there is no rush to decide on your exact postition on the gender scale so relax a little.

And the second is to be sure that you get to a computer with Internet capabilities at a library or somewhere from time to time just to sign in and say hi - we are not only terribly friendly but so supportive as well so if you are feeling down or really confused - get to a computer and give us a ahout we are here for each other and you are one of us.

Welcome to the family.

Love ya,

Sally

I'll keep that in mind, NeverSayNever.

I have already looked around here for a while and I do continue.

I know where a small Internet-Café is nearby, but I always feel uncomftable there.

It feels like I am being watched, though I think I'll try to go there when I feel I need to.

I haven't seen a library anywhere near.

Thank you for the welcome and advises.

Welcome to Laura's, Daniel. This is the perfect place to explore your feelings, pick up information and

resources, and make friends. Please explore the forums and join in the chat rooms, and

let us learn more about you so we can help and offer support.

I'm certain there are Internet Cafes in Germany, so please find the means to continue visiting with us

if you can. You'll soon find that this is one place you can't do without.

I am willing to talk more about myself, though I need some time to sort it.

I am still exploring the forums and already found much information.

I'll be checking the chat soon, I think.

In the city there are many Internet-Cafés, but I am currently living in a village and will move to another village.

But in the center of the town these villages are part of I know where an Internet-Café is there.

Though first I need to pick up my bike and look for a way how to get there from there.

I can't really help but being shy, but with time I think I am getting more confident.

Yesterday I was sitting for about 3 hours thinking how to write this introduction and was distracted 2 times from it until I then went to bed as I was tired and tried it again today.

I've been looking forward to living alone for a long time and am glad it will happen soon.

Thank you for the welcome everyone.

Thank you for the welcome Alyssa.

I tried writing about me earlier today, but I stopped as it seemed too much like a biography, wich I didn't wanted it to be.

Well, it's already Monday... actually even Tuesday as it is after Midnight here.

Well, I'll try next month, then. Thanks again everyone.

That's wonderful news!! I took our pup in for her Vet check today - perfect. She slept 7 hours last evening and is coming along really well with her house breaking and crate training.   I know you'll have some excitement with a new Boxer!!

Surgeries are drastic, and indeed should be a last resort for minors.  As indeed they are.  It is very rare for anyone under 18 to get gender-affirming surgery.  It is typically only done if the person would be suicidal without it.   Puberty blockers are a way to avoid the "drastic measure" of forcing the person to undergo the wrong puberty.  They should not be prescribed lightly, and I don't think they are.  They are a way to go slow until the person can truly make an informed decision.

My Endo keeps track of several trace chemicals in my blood system that can be affected by our slightly different hormone balance, keeping in mind we have had both hormones all our life, just in different balance.  I did have to change one diuretic I was taking that was crashing out one chemical that does affect energy levels, and it turned out that Spiro was the alternative to that one for the way it works there.  I was never on Spiro for the hormone issues per se.  Let your doctor know about the fatigue sometime today or whenever you read this.

Hmmm .  .  . if I only had a ten-word description that completely described my identity. That would be great, but one doesn't exist. "I'm a girl—and a boy. And neither—and both?" There. Now you know, right? Maybe not. —Davie

I think you should discuss it with your doctor.  I know you are 'asking around' but experience probably varies.

This one is behind a pretty heavy pay-wall, for me $50 US/per year.

I had heard the story of Nicks-Buckingham but not the rest.  Olsen was prolific.

I completely relate to this.  My partner of 5 years has made it clear she won't be going with me if I go down this path. I feel like I wasted her time with my own fear and procrastination.  I visit my elderly parents (my mother has dementia) and my first thought is there's no way I can put them through this. I think the same thing when I see my adult daughters.     Nobody is holding us hostage but us.

I do get this, really.  However this is part of the reasoning behind the blockers.  Without them there will be "irreversible" changes, only not the ones wanted. No, I don't think this should be done lightly, but I have a problem with forbidding it by law in all cases.
    • Ivy
Yeah.  I have 6 of them.  I learned a lot.

I'm kind of torn on this issue. On the one hand, I have met or seen youngsters, and there is very little doubt they are trans. It would seem cruel to deny them care toward this end. On the other hand, there are many others who may dip their toes into the waters while exploring themselves only to realize it isn't who they are. My daughter had a friend like that in high school. First he wanted to date her. Then he thought he was transfeminine for a season then realized that wasn't him.   We go slow on so many other things with kids. We don't let underaged folks drink or vote. We would question someone who locked into a career at age 12-15 (though there ARE some people who do know exactly what they want to do when they grow up very early in life). We would discourage marrying very young, etc.   I'm never crazy about government regulations on things because they tend to screw everything up. So I hate this has become such a political football where neither side listens to the other... But there is wisdom in going slow and allowing things to play out and making sure before such drastic measures as blocking puberty and having surgeries are taken...   Of course, it should be a person-by-person decision, working in concert with family, community and medical professionals, but it seems we never want to do it this way. We always seem to want to throw everyone and everything into a one-size-fits-all dynamic...
