Thanks Sara, those stories (that Iv'e watched so far) were very touching. In fact, I can only watch a little at a time cause I get so emotional.

I liked it, I just kind of wish it wasn't so Christian-oriented. I felt a little like I was being segregated because I'm an atheist. Overall the show brought up some great points and would definitely be a big help in showing other people what we're thinking/feeling, but it just really bothered me that about 50% of it had a strong Christian influence. It seemed more like the Christian transsexuals were trying to say "See?! We believe in Jesus too, therefore we're good!" while completely ignoring all of our non-Christians, which is actually the majority. If someone said "my faith helped me" and all of that, then fine, good for them, but I thought giving us the big screaming priest and such (even if he was LGBT-friendly) was just too much. There was just a major bias there towards Christianity and that's really the only thing I had a problem with.

This is pretty cool. Here is a series of webisodes that feature interviews with the cast of the first transgendered-only cast of the V-monologues.

Beatiful Daughters Part 1

Worth watching if you haven't seen this.

I have the video of the whole show on my iPod Touch.

Eth,

Maybe it was so pointedly aimed at Christians because for some reason they seem to be the most resistant to us.

Atheist never say why don't you stay like millions of years of evolution made you?

It wouldn't make any sense because we just evolved differently, but the Christian fanatics have their holy writings to condemn us.

Well I would... but that would defeat the point of evolution

I understand that to some degree, but I still felt disconnected from it because they catered to a single group within the transgender community, making it even more narrow than it has to be. When I see stuff like this, where religion (especially Christianity because it happens so often) is brought in practically inexplicably, it just makes me want to slap them and say "HEY! Not EVERY human on the planet follows your religion!", because it really does feel like they're not even acknowledging the existence of anyone outside of their little microcosm, which is exactly what we're asking cisgender people NOT to do. It feels contradictory.

Now that is an interesting perspective. I am with Eth, except the thing that bothered me most is that they were mostly all prettier and younger than me. The Christian thing was too in my face from my atheist viewpoint. But the thought that this was appropriate since the Christians are the most negative toward us (and I have experienced plenty of that myself) and so in more need of 'coaching' makes sense to me and makes me feel better about how it was done. Thanks for pointing this out.

Thanks, Sara...

I've had this book marked on my computer for some time, now.

Actually, my therapist gave it to me to watch!

My wife says.."Oh my! You could end up looking like them?".....LOL!

Well, YEP! Heading there right now...!

Oh, my god that priest was hysterical. "GOD IS INTERESTED IN THE HEART, NOT IN BODY-PARTS!" My new catchphrase. Lol. And, I haven't watched this all the way through, about halfway through part 4, but it didn't seem to be that christian oriented/influenced/biased at all. Were we watching a different documentary? There was that one lady who was religious and they mentioned it as it applied to her, but no one else said ANYTHING about religion at all. (Unless they do it all towards the end. And even then I can't see it being more than an occasional mention of god as it applies to them personally.)

Overall, very well made (so far). A bit girly for me, but quality, so it wasn't a waste of time. :P I think lots more people should watch it.

Anyone knows how to download the videos? My internet connection is too slow to actually watch it while it streams..keep getting pauses every other minute or so.

I just thought the priest was over the top, really. Just what bugged me was how, if they wanted to get a religious view on it, why was it only from the Christians? I understand why there's no "So you're Atheist, how does that effect your transition?" lol because Atheism is just that- a lack of religion. I wouldn't have anything to say on that either. It just seemed very ... biased towards Christianity in that they had several people go "It's about God" and "It's about my relationship with God" and then that big screaming priest. It felt like they were having Christian transsexuals speak for ALL transsexuals. God has nothing to do with MY transition, or everyone's, so why are we only hearing from one party? That's how I felt about it.

We have been asked to bring the following to the attention of our members. Please note that you would need to send an email to receive the actual survey link.   Seeking Interview Participants for Research Study on Digital Spaces of Transgender Belonging What is the Study About? Over the past several decades, the Internet has fundamentally changed how trans people form community spaces, explore gender identity, and practice community care. My dissertation will evaluate trans people's relationships to digital trans spaces, and I am conducting interviews as part of this research study. Who Qualifies? To qualify for this study, you must: • Be 18 years of age or older, • Identify as transgender or otherwise gender nonconforming (such as, but not limited to, nonbinary, genderqueer, genderfluid, agender, or Two-Spirit), • Have sought out online transgender resources or communities, AND • Currently live in the United States. What Does It Involve? A brief (five minute) screening survey, later followed by a virtual interview lasting approximately one hour. You will receive $75 after participating in an interview as compensation for your time. Your participation in this interview is completely voluntary. If you choose to participate, you will be asked to reflect on your history with trans online communities and resources. Data Usage and Confidentiality Policy This research study is being conducted as part of a Ph.D. dissertation, which will be published. Raw or identifiable data, including interview transcripts and recordings, will not be made publicly available. Analysis from this study may be presented publicly or included in future publications. This will head for a court case and the notable fact that the people opposing puberty blockers is that they have not revealed their source and its competence.  It will be present the evidence and let your "experts" sit on the grill above the hot coals.

Pretty typical for many nations.... corrupt police, and only great effort by the victim's family will eventually yield prosecution.  Conviction is uncertain, and sentencing even more so.

Welcome to Trans Pulse, Bobbi.  It's nice to meet you.  I remember well all the emotions you mentioned upon starting on this journey, about 15 years ago now.  It's an exciting, albeit scary time, and there will be many questions and decisions along the way.  Any way we can help, all you need to do is ask.  We'll be here for you.   HUGS   Carolyn Marie

Everyone is their own person and has their own way of operating in the world. Being “enough” isn’t for anyone to judge, outside of maybe our closest loved ones, and definitely not those that are trying to measure themselves high by cutting others down. They know I wouldn’t succeed for very long—or at all—keeping my life bifurcated as you, but I am happy you are content with where you’re at with yourself.

My kids are grown now.  I realize I don't know the half of what they did.  But my parents didn't know the half of what I did either.  It's just how it works.   You kinda know, but please spare me the details.

@MaeBe, Good luck and best wishes on the new start in the Great Northwest. I don’t know a parent that didn’t call out their kids for being drunk or high as rebellious teenagers. I just told my teens that they can’t kid a kidder, and I was a teenager early 1970s we could drink legally at 18 so I have tons of experience spotting drunk kids.    As for the poetry, I liked it.  We never have enough support bras or tee shirts in the rotation.    Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Oh my @KymmieL, I’m sorry you’re on the job hunt again. They didn’t seem to be a good fit for you anyway. You deserve to be treated fairly and not undermined by competing owners who don’t communicate well.    Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋
