Hi,

I've been looking for a site like this one, where, as my therapist says, I can talk about the real me.

I have known since I was like 3 years old that I was supposed to be born a 'boy'. I AM one! But, since I was born in the female shell, I have been forced to live life as a girl :(

I am VERY happily married to my husband for what will be 24 years, soon. And yes, he knows. I told him about my trans situation about 3 years ago. He said as long as I don't have a sex-change, its fine, jokingly. I'm bi-sexual so no leaving this guy, either way. Love him!!!!! But I prefer men 10 to 3, I'd say.

I dress in more manish ways when he is off working, and have a haircut that I'd still wear as a man.

I am 46 years old and am SO envious of the modern FTM's because they are actually changing their bodies and lives to fit who they are. Lucky, lucky.

I can just see if I did that. My family would flip out, and as I'm in Education, there goes my job.

I see young gay guys, or straight ones, who look similar to what I'd like to look like and it makes me so sad, and I feel cheated. I want to look like that!!

My gay friends are an awesome way for me to sort of live viacarioulsy through them. Don't get me wrong, I'd be friends with them even if I were the girliest girl alive. They just bring me a bit of peace.

Are there others out there in a similar situation?

I love music, men's pro tennis, writing, reading, travel, shopping, and animals.

Thanks for the therapy and without the fee, too :D

Welcome. It's nice that you're very happily married to someone, especially with the high divorce rate in our country. I hope we'll be able to help and provide decent free therapy for you.

Welcome to Laura's! You are joining a wonderful group of people who

are all here to support one another. As Sally and Donna Jean have

said, there are a lot of us here in the "slightly older" group, many with

spouses and families just like you. It does get complicated for us, but

that's why its so great to be able to talk about all of it with friends.

I'm so glad to hear that your husband is supportive and caring. That's

something to cherish. :)
