Hey, speak for yourself. LOL.   Wednesday had a follow up with my PCP. Again my T level is undetectable. Which is what this girl wants. A weird thing happened though. My Dr. gave me a prescription for a med to help me sleep. Seems to be working. Anywho, When I went to the pharmacy window to pick up my med. The pharmacist  asked who I was picking up for and my relationship. She must have correlated the name and thought I was a woman picking up meds for another person. A little weird but affirming none the less.   I go for a mammogram today. so, no sleeping in for me. I may crawl back in bed once I am done.    Well got to go coffee is calling me.    Kymmie

Hi 👋🏻  so I have been exactly where you are right now and it’s a difficult place to be emotionally and physically.    the first step is to talk to your GP remember that everything you discuss (providing you are over 18 and not under care) is completely confidential and free from judgement.    You don’t have to go into any detail with them simply say “please refer me to the Gender Identity Clinic” they can’t refuse this request.    now for the realities of the situation.    you GP is very unlikely to prescribe anything without the GIC having assessed you.    the wait is very long. I was put on the list in September and have been told 6-8 years to initial consultation.    what options are there in the meantime…   you can go private which is a significant commitment financially with many routes costing upwards of £200 per month + prescription costs and with one off registration, consultations and assessments. This route could have you on HRT within 6 months.    I’ve had HRT in the loser prescribed by a private doctor and have since come off it but am planning to go back on but not sure I can afford private and the wait for NHS will see me the wrong side of 50 before seeing them.    I wish you well however you decide to progress.

did not know that, i'm 53, just transitioned, despite wishing to have done it at 20. When i grew up in the stone age, pre Internet, you were not even aware it was a thing. So you could have the feelings, but there was no real option to transitioned for a boy in a working class London 1980's   I knew i liked men, i knew i liked being feminine, wearing female clothes, as i explored my love of men, it opened up a world for me, that culminated in relationships with transwomen, who as a boy then really did open the world for me It changed my sexual identity, while i do still like men, i suspect i am fundamentally attracted more to fellow transwomen now   Never married, but if i did, i just know she would be a transwomen, like me (maybe it's so i can borrow her dresses :)) 

yep will maybe be the hardest learning curve, something you have been doing since birth, something you don't need to think about, and now it's like a massive challenge just to use fingers , i have always had a terrible habit of biting nails, so i've never had long nails, even nails that extrude past the finger, but i do love how they look when i do them

Oh that sounds helpful. I'm glad for that.    My adorable son woke me at 6:30 to discuss bagels   I feel like I have slept for three minutes, and then eaten salt beef mustard gherkin Beigel for breakfast.    It's not my ideal start to a day to be honest...   Still..

Oh gosh, I was 68 when I started transition. 71 now and just a year into hormone therapy. As Kathy said, we all wish we'd started sooner but who we were remains part of who we are. I've had so many experiences and blessing in my life, Now I just focus forward on this new life's adventure.

Yes I do have a name I think it suits the women I am and my pronouns would definitely be her/she as this is what I really am inside. And it's a great idea to introduce myself as the women I am I've never done that before. Thank you.

Good luck!    Also, do you have a name? A lot of people find hearing their name and pronouns really affirming, and here can be a really good place to test that. Maybe, when you feel ready, you can introduce yourself
