Intro -

A mango harness costs 30$, an underworks chest binder costs $30, a mango chest binder 50-80$, underworks compression shorts - 20$, Your penis falling out of your pants at the local supermarket and flubbing around on the floor for a few seconds before coming limp - PRICELESS - and incredibly embarrassing.

For the hips -

Though it's not a mandatory thing, anyone who has fatter hips and wants them to look smaller, there's a really easy solution. go to your local mens section at walmart, and but a pair of spandex shorts. pull them up over your hips, around your belly button. This is really easy, and cheap, and fairly comfortable.

Chest binding -

No body likes layering their clothes or wearing jackets in the summer and it's really a dead giveaway that you're hiding something. An ace bandage hurts, and is hard to keep in place, so here's some of my, cheapy suggestions.

#1 - buy a spandex athletic shirt, and an ace bandage at least 6 in wide. put on the shirt 1st, and then wrap the ace bandage around once, tightly. use safety pins to secure it TO THE SHIRT, in a few areas. don't overdo it or it won't look right. you can put another spandex shirt over top, or an undershirt. If you use sleeveless spandex shirts you can wear a sleeveless shirt with it and not attract attention.

#2 - Use a "Belly Trimmer" (Like Crossroads) I just started wearing one like last night and it's Awesome! It offers good compression and is comfortable. I suggest wear a spandex or undershirt over it.

#3 - suspenders! wear suspenders with a spandex shirt, or with any compression shirt for that matter, and put the straps over the nipple area of your chest. Wear them OVER your outside shirt, you can't hide them, however, it's not obvious what you're using them for.

#4 - and if you're really in a pinch, I've heard of someone on here using a tight fish net shirt... I never tried it...

The Packer and STP specially designed briefs. (I got this idea from one of the mod FTMs in the chatroom and added to it.)

A pair of briefs with a few special functions added - A hole for the STP tube to go through, but a pouch for your packer to sit in so it doesn't fall out, a zipper for easy access, and Velcro to keep your packer in the right spot without much shifting. From what I found, my packer tended to move up in my briefs and look like I had an male function - particularly liking to do it in public! >_< this brief design allows you to be protected from most embarrassing situation such as what I just mentioned and having your penis fall out in public. PLUS you can use the stall without having your packer fall out on the floor...

You will need -

1 pair of briefs

a roll of thread

preferably a pack of several sewing needles cause it's a pain in the butt to lose them and have to go searching

scissors

velcro (preferably with a sticky backing)

a 7-9 inch long zipper, which you can get at walmart cheap.

Step 1- turn your briefs inside out, and sew shut the opening, sew it so it's right next to the side of the underwear leaving a nice comfy pouch for your packer.

Step 2 - turn them right side out, were the opening is at in the front, cut own from the very bottom corner, down the side of them, cut down to around were briefs are sewn in the crotch, you can probably leave an inch or 2 above that, depending on the length of the zipper.

Step 3 - put on your briefs, and determine were the tube of your STP will go through, and mark it on your briefs, take them off, and were it's marked cut a line up and down, about as long as your thumb nail, and a line across that about as long to form a + shape. Fold up the sides of triangular pieces of fabric and sew around the outside of the hole, that should be in almost a diamond shape. and cut off the tips of the triangles.

Step 4 - This is the hard part, attaching the zipper. Start at the top, open up the zipper. place the edge of the zipper under the piece of fabric forming the top of your pouch, and poke the needle through on the very top, and up again from the bottom, and tie it. Leave a good big of thread for the rest of the side of the zipper, but not too much or it will knot up when you go to pull it through and make a mess. continue up and down through that side of the zipper, and at the end tie it off. The key to the thread holding strongly is to keep the keep each stitch close, don't leave large gaps. for the other side, the edge goes over the end of the underwear, and this is the easy way. Start at the bottom, and poke the needle through the back, and then just take it up to the front, put it through to the back, back up to front. when you get to the area were the hold was already made, use the stitch you used for the other side. and tie off. Sew up the area under the zipper, if you cut down further than necessary for the zipper.

Step 5- (optional add on) take a square of velcro, and pull off the backing, stick it right above the hold for your STP, about 1/2 an inch to an inch, and put the needle through, then from the back of it, up to the top again, and tie a few good knots. you can stick another piece of velcro to your packer, and it will hold it in place :) If you have any question, message me. :P

Home made harness -

This is Very easy, and cheap. buy a strip of elastic, like the kind on a pair of underwear, pull it around your waste, and find the right length for you, cut it to the right size, sew the ends together, take the other piece of elastic you just cut off, and place if behind the elastic band , make sure it hangs down about 2 inches or more, sew it on. take a yarn needle, some yarn, and put it through the edge of the elastic hanging off, tie it, and then put it through the other side and tie it, leave enough yarn there to make a loop for your packer to go through.

These of course are alternatives to a jock strap, or just plain putting it in briefs.

good luck!!!!

A suggestion to avoid looking like you've got an male function in public when you're wearing a packer or STP:

Turn the thing sideways. If you're using an STP, but the receptacle end towards where your pocket will be and let the whole thing face sideways. Harder to be embarrassed that way. Added bonus: the tubing is in the crease of your hip when you sit, stand, or walk, so it's not noticeable. And even if someone feels the tubing or the receptacle (if you're dancing, for example), they'll think it's just some weird thing you have in your pocket and disregard it. Second bonus: makes the packer more likely to sit properly when you sit.

It's actually less weird than you might think. If you've ever gone to the tailor and he asks you "what side," this is actually kinda what he's talking about.

Nice, comprehensive post, Ray.

Very neat. Do you have shots of the "finished" product? I'm kinda visual and it would help me lots.

yeah me too, I would have posted them if I had any ready but I guess I have no excuse now xP

http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i39/hika...mo/Picture4.jpg This is the inside of the briefs, I'm not sure how well you can see it, but the inside opening is sewn shut, and there's a hole for the STP to go through.

http://s68.photobucket.com/albums/i39/hika...nt=Picture3.jpg I opened up the "Pouch" area, this is behind the front piece of fabric, the hole stretches that was made for the STP tube when you wear them a few times, hence why it's so big. and a square of Velcro above it to attach a packer.

http://s68.photobucket.com/albums/i39/hika...nt=Picture2.jpg This is the zipper part, it's NOT right down the middle, it just looks that way for some reason, probably because of the way I'm holding it, the zipper is right on the edge were the original opening was made in the briefs.

And I couldn't get a good pic of the harness with my webcam, so this is fairly straight forward --- http://s68.photobucket.com/albums/i39/hika...nt=untitled.jpg

Any tips for getting taller? Because that's my primary FTM issue right now when it comes to clothes and "sizing"...oh wait, there is another big size problem!

It especially bothers me when people say things like "well girls are pretty much done growing my about 16, guys can keep growing into their early 20s" (just heard that a few days ago...)

well you know what if I've tended towards a lot of male patterns of growth at earlier points in my life I'm not going to give up all hope yet...

I'm a masculine woman. It's not about masculinity though. It's about expanding what it means to be a woman.

It never rains but it pours.  We had a dry spring, but now my garden is a swamp and my yard is a pond.  Get off the gravel road, and you'd need a hovercraft.    With nothing better to do, I'm going on a short trip with my husband tomorrow.  Since he's in management he usually doesn't do this sort of work, but whenever he does I usually go along.  And he already knows not to try staying in a hotel, because I want to sleep in the bunk in the truck.  So much more cozy.    And for a couple of days, GF can actually take care of her own kids instead of leaving them to me....

I have played clarinet, but without talent.  And while I *can* sing, I think listening to it would be an acquired taste.

Hi Sally, okay I'll head on over to your post and check out your makeup techniques.

Hey all,   It's been a while, but I blogged a whole series on makeup.  It's an eight-part series where I talk about my techniques.   Here is the link to Part 1:       Hopefully the blog series is helpful.

Oh, I can relate to that one Vicky, leaving lipstick in hot weather  I've lost count how many times I had to purchase new purses.

Thanks for the replies, as an admin from my own group I understand the same rules, agreed.

I do spoken word acting, and give Trans 101 talks and other public speaking.  I wear make-up for those occasions.  Sephora is easy for me to get to, and has a foundation that does a good job for me and the sales folks there are Trans Friendly.  Their eye shadow pallets are also fun to use. Another source of my foundation is Ulta which carries Dermablend that does a consistent job of my lower face and chin.   I just use good old Revlon lipsticks because I ruin them by leaving my purse in the hot car too often.

I'm not interested in makeup, jewelry or nice clothes or girly stuff.  It's made me wonder at times.   It saves some money.  If I wore a skirt it would likely  be denim.  I thought about a woman's skirt suit but nah.   Neither of my sisters are into that stuff either.  One likes peasant chic (still a 60s flower girl)  and the other - the only time she has ever worn a dress was at her wedding.  Jeans at all other times.   Jeans and t shirt here.  Content being a girl.  Weirdo. Weirda? Never mind.

@Ladypcnj Before posting links to other group's websites, PM one of the Staff (preferably an Admin) and have them check that site out.   We have specific rules here regarding age appropriateness and would need to know that the other site is in line with those rules.  We do have members here between 13 and 18 and other sites need to be safe for that age range, legally and otherwise.  Also, we are not a dating or pick-up site, not do we allow people selling things to advertise here.  As I said clear the link with a moderator or admin before posting it.  Mod's and admins do check out posts and if we find problem links we will remove them and notify the OP of a rules violation.  Go to https://www.transgenderpulse.com/community-rules to understand where we are.

I raise my hand in the group, I have a question and a suggestion... is it allowed to share other new lgbtq+ website links here?
    • Ladypcnj
Yeah, ELF is a good brand, another brand is Revlon ColorStay last 24 hours.
