What? Catholicism Calling My Name?

I know it sounds odd, and I've been a practicing Pagan for years, but a few weeks ago I watched a Catholic mass on YouTube. Something about it seemed to strike me in such a spiritually significant way that I just had to get on the internet and research everything about it that I could, even had to make my own cassock to trade out for my old ritual robe, shoulder cape, cincture and all.

What does this mean? Well, I'm not sure. As an ordained minister, God's direction calls me to offer the Sacraments, to celebrate Mass even if it's just in my own home. My heart aches as I'm so called to the Catholic priesthood, yet because I'm a transman, I know that I cannot partake in such things. I've prayed about it much, and thought, "Perhaps this calling is to start an LGBTQ-friendly, independent Catholic ministry?" When I perform my rituals for the sabbats, strangely they coincide with the Catholic holy days. Yule, Christmas. Ostara, Easter. Samhein, All Saint's Day... etc.

I cannot believe what I am about to write, but here it goes... I love God. Jesus is my new best friend. While I consider myself still following the old Pagan ways of ritual, I believe the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit will forever have a special place in my heart, and my religious practice will keep the Trinity, the Blessed Mother, and all the saints sacred.

God is Love. When I see the discrimination in the Church, I wonder to myself, "Do they not read what Jesus taught?" That was what drew me away from Christianity as a teenager, despite what I felt in my heart about the Word being true. I realized through reading testimonies of LGBT folks that I don't need the approval of man to follow God. Perhaps by my faith, and my perseverance as an independent priest, I can help the lost LGBT folks in the world searching for a Catholic/Christian old-ways church that welcomes and affirms them.

If you wish - you can PM. I practice the Wicca Ways - I am also an active Catholic. I find the two views of GOD and GODDESS somewhat similar because of the rituals and the deep dedication to the Sacrements.

But I beleive in the CREATOR - The God/Goddes/Sprit worship we have is touching upon aspects that allow us understanding. Neither the Wicca or Catholic ways are exactly correct - not are either incorrect. What is important is to KNOW. What is important is to BELIEVE - and Jesus IS in my life - he laughs with me all the time!

It's different for we who are 'two spirits' - and we know what others only see the half of. Its a reward for the huge price we pay being unaccepted by society.

So you are not alone in this.

If you feel called to ministry than you should pursue that. If the Catholic church wont accept you into ministry as a trans, than perhaps you should seek other denominations to find what fits with what you believe and/or come to understand. I would also like to point out that not all people who go into ministry do so as a Preacher/Pastor, there are many ways to serve and share God.
