I got my transportation figured out for my first week at my new job, which by the way is AMAZING. I'm completely stealth with the company, and got hired as an A1 sound engineer, which means big money. I will soon be able to get a car and my own apartment. No more boarding house for me. :)

Congrats! Sounds like a lot of great is happening in your life. =D

Seeing a therapist every other week.

This morning I made my first appointment (July 5) with an urologist to get started with hormone therapy. :D

A very good couple of days in a row - could being off work be that much of an influence?

Sunday was my first Father's Day without my father - I wasn't sure about going to church but Lizzy and Dee Jay were going and I was off work so I decided to go - there was a brief Father's day announcement but not the main focus of the program for the day.

There are five chairs per row in the center section of this small church and we sat as usual with Dee Jay on the right aisle, Lizzy to her left and me on Lizzy's left to my left was an empty seat and then a male member of the church around my age - before the service started he turned to me and told me that he did not attend as much as he had before but he remembered seeing me at the dinner before the dedication of the new church building, we talked a bit and when the service started we stood for the first hymn (a spiritual) - he did not have a hymnal so we shared mine and as he sat back down next to me he admitted that it was a little odd to need to see the words for "Kum Ba Yah" but it was a pleasant moment.

That night I called my sister not too sure about how it would go, she was with my mother so I talked to her too - they are both handling it pretty well so that was good but they avoided calling me by name or using any pronouns toward me, they may not accept that I am trans but it does seem more like they are aware and trying not to upset me - I am viewing it as a good sign.

Yesterday we went out for some good food (Tex-Mex for lunch and Italian for dinner) and of course a little shopping I found a great pair of shoes at Big Lots - Lavender Mary Jane Crocs!

At the official Croc store they could not fit me in these and yet at one quarter of the price Big Lots had my size.

Everyone found clothing that we liked and fit - a good day overall.

Love ya,

Sally

Didn't let the post woman fool me into using the most expensive way of sending a package (nearly fell for it) and saved up a lot, also found out about a small discount for a binder.

The other day, my mom called my boxer briefs underwear instead of "funny underwear" or "sleeping shorts" when she dropped them while folding laundry.

I love that so many people have had happy news to share recently. :D

I've found myself a paper round and possibly a 20-hours-a-week job for the summer, so I should have some more savings for the rest of my university course now. To celebrate I spent money lol. Bought myself this. Sue me, I love the X-Men. :P

Just another happy day for me - I have started to play my trumpet again - I have only played a few times in the past year and this morning when I got out my old cornet and played a bit with the practice mute and since it was around 11:00Am, I took the mute out and listened as I played just a few notes - the old sound is still there - YEA!

Love ya,

Sally

Sally, glad to hear you're playing again.

Sam, that's a cool shirt.

I came out to two close friends ... my teeny tiny first step, and they were both really supportive. Both asked "Are you sure?" It's the only thing I've ever been sure of.

I still enjoy being seen as male even though that's not really a big deal. But it happened in threes on Friday. 1) I was walking across the parking lot at work and a couple of people were talking and the man said, "he's about as tall as that guy," and pointed at me. 2) Picking up the kids at school and one kid, "Mommy!" and the little girl next to him said, "I think that's your Daddy." 3) The cashier at the grocery store flirted with me while she was ringing up my order.

I love those moments, but I do feel sorry for my son that people think he's the one who's confused.

Don't think Americans would go for the "compulsory" part. We kind of like not being told what to do ... Amazingly, there is great pushback on voter ID laws. The opponents say it discourages voting, especially among the poor and minorities. That is really a smokescreen IMO for those who want to harvest ballots from as many places as possible, including folks who don't exist or don't hold citizenship...

Pretty soon I think I might be ready to talk about gender-affirming care for kids, possibly w/r/t the Cass Review and its shortcomings.

She was a beautiful young woman ...   "What we do know is that the offender was a very violent individual and should not have been on our streets.”  Whether gender related or not, the mental health and incarceration issues in our country are incredibly bad and need to be addressed.

April,   I'm glad my entries are interesting to you.  TransCentralPA is a great organization with so many caring people.  I would strongly recommend you find a way to attend the Keystone Conference.  I guarantee you'll find it an amazing experience.     Hugs,   Sally

Dear @Sally Stone.  I think you should author a memoir based on these posts (maybe you're already working towards that?).  You could decide at a later time if/when you might want to publish.   I appreciate you sharing your deep connection with your friend Willa (and I am sorry for your loss) and the benefit of having a Trans friend and mentor in our Life and Journey.  I was fortunate to have found one also in our TGP friend @Kasumi63.   As you know we share many common Life themes in our stories.  Drop me a PM if you'd like to chat about it.  Looking forward to the next 'chapter'.

Voting is compulsory here, for better or worse. Would doing the same in the US snap people out of their apathy?

I am noting you use CRT terminology.  The comment is not out of the blue.  Some of your remarks on religion suggest atheism.  So it is believable that you are a Marxist, knowingly or not.  Are you?

Congrats to your family on the new addition!

Funny you think that I would be able to get through more than two sentences with how bad my stutter gets (joking, of course)   My topic would probably be mythology, random Japan factoids in my mind, or a favorite story   (Best option would be a fave story of mine including a lot of factoids on Japanese myths-)

Congratulations @ivy. Nothing beats a family growing two feet at a time!

I read each of your entries and learn so much. Thank you, especially, for the TransCentralPA info. I have been looking fora group and activities where I could express myself safely and with support. I missed this year's conference but next year might be possible and I am going to look at their other events, too.

I have read numerous accounts of trans folk no longer being welcome among evangelicals.   I am here for help and fellowship not to rebuke anyone.  I can take a pretty high degree of insult, etc., and you haven't insulted me, to my recollection anyway :) and I usually let it go.  But I thought I would let it all out there.   I am sure I disagree with you on numerous issues.  I appreciate other people's viewpoints, including those who radically disagree with me.  Intellectual challenge is good. One thing I appreciate about @MaeBe.

      Congrats!
