Joys Of Getting Sick

Find my mind wandering

Where

I am not sure

Except it’s

Not with my physical body.

Product of taking medication

For a growing nausea

Spreading within my body.

As I try

To fight off

This year’s first bug

While keeping

My other meds

Within my body.

Added on top of

A lingering depression

Which has grip my soul

For more than two weeks.

Need to be active

But oh so hard

When it’s so easy

To surrender myself.

Caving in

To this destructive desire

Without any conscious thought

Or care

On my part.

Beyond the warmth

Of my pillow

And bed.

.

Caving in

To this destructive desire

Without any conscious thought

Or care

On my part.

I like that....

Actually I don't mind being laid up sick for a couple of days...absolved of all responsibilities...

Free to wander aimlessly in your own mind....

Well done, Therisa!

Well hope it goes away quickly, and you can return to the library to keep in touch with us. Were you able to make any of your wonderful soup recently?

Oh Therisa-snuggle down in your bed with that soft pillow and let your feline nurses cuddle you back to health!

Hope you feel better soon.

Very good poem!

Not sure, that I want Squeak as my nurse, John. He knocked over a full kettle of water, while I was away for a doctor's appointment and my weight-in for October. Got water all over my kitchen floor. Sigh. Lost 1.6 lbs, last month, but my glucose average....well, best not to talk about it. Just hope this time, it doesn't settle in my lungs and need to get anti-biotics, as a result. Thanks for the well wishes.

Cats really don't make good nurses. I agree. Except for the comfort of their warmth and purrs.

I hope you are better today.

Pamper yourself for awhile.

Sadly, John. I'm at the start of this bleeping bug. Spent most of the weekend sneezing and starting a nice dry cough. So its going to be, a long battle here. Least, with the new dose of Cymbalta, I will not have any problems sleeping. Alas poor Venus and Squeak, will have to survive without me for awhile, until I am better.

Hi Therisa!

How are you today?

I'm glad to see you are well enough to make it to the library.

Get well soon!

Trips to the library, are more a sanity chech for me. Forcing myslef, not to totally isolate myself, from the world, as is my wont to do, John. At this moment, I am running a fever and can't get warm. Sigh, anyone want a second-hand bug? Going cheap!!

Hi Therisa,

Thank you for the offer, but I seem to manage to find more than I want around here, so will have to decline.

Maybe that one particular doctor that has given you such a hard time is in the market for one. (just kidding)

Please get to feeling better soon!

Huggs,

Opal/Mary

A bit late in updating, but I've had the draft of the official diagnosis and have (as yet unconfirmed) an endo consultation next month.   Next to arrive will be the supporting documentation for my new passport application for my correct gender.  This will then be my official ID for all the other updates - bank, tax, payroll etc.   It just feels good to to be proactive again rather than waiting for other people to move at a leisurely pace.

I like ELF brand cosmetics, I can pick them up at JC Penny.    I wear makeup everyday, but mostly just very light makeup.

Hi Mae Be, whenever it comes to makeup, there are so many different bands to choose from. Picking out the right makeup comes with trial and error, until you find one that works for you and blends well with your skin tone, some makeup products can leave the skin feeling oily. It's a good idea to look at the labels on the makeup product to know what the creators put in the makeup, just in case skin allergies. Once you found the makeup brand, you can add it to your shopping list, good luck

To be fair I’m pretty lost when it comes to makeup technique. I’ve watched videos, but I have no idea what works for or would help my features. So I just bungle along, hoping I don’t look terrible.
