Cis vs TG viewing of body parts?

Something I struggle with when looking at myself and being TG, is trying to determine the difference between Cis and TG viewing of body parts and my thoughts and feelings.

So they say, Cis men love breasts, loads so. They love things such as Victoria's Secret models, the lingerie football league and such. I struggle with this. I do like seeing a lingerie model (although I roll my eyes at the lingerie football league).

I see a picture of a bra like you'd see in a catalog, of only the bra with the boobs in it. I like the picture. I like seeing the boobs in the picture and sometimes even get turned on by linergie pictures. How would a cis male/cis female think of those sorts of thing?

Now one thing that seems to point to my TGness is that I walk through a store and want to buy and wear all kinds of female clothing and there's amost no male clothing I like.

Still, I get back to the liking the boobs in the picture of the bra. Does that make me cis? What exactly does the "normal" cis males and females reaction?

Attraction is totally different from gender. A lot of people get the 2 things mixed up but which gender you feel and which gender you are attracted to are 2 totally separate things so you can be female and also be attracted to females.

Rats, at times like this I wish I could edit the orignial post to clarify what I'm asking.

Yeah, I do get that gender and sexuality are separate. I guess what I'm just wondering out loud, is how Cis-males and Cis-Females would think of such things?

Our fascination with human sexuality can vary over the years as we mature. It is certainly complicated by factors such as transsexuality. I would once see an attractive girl walk by and just melt - wanting so much to BE her. I would dress as my true self - and LONG for those curves so artfully created, I wanted them TO BE REAL! To this day the body of a woman is just so ... well... dang interesting to me. I didn't always make the distinction if I was erotically attracted to a woman because she was a woman, or if it was because I wanted all she had.

Now I am about 80% a woman in body. I have a female face, soft skin, breasts, soft and touchable parts all over. Soon I will have my surgery and be indistinguishable in body from a natal woman, unless there is DNA testing.

But women still attract me, while men do not, I mean in a physical attraction sense. That might shift a bit, but still? I want to snuggle with my woman life partner - who soon will also be indistinguishable from a natal woman in body.

So yes- breasts are GRAND! On me or anyone else.

Hi Kendra,

Human sexuality is very complex. The more open-minded we are, the more we can see this and are likely to allow the "experiencing" of these complexities. Little, if anything, is totally black or white. While we extend understanding to others, it's also important we allow ourselves the time to understand ourselves. We would do well, I think, to understand that our understanding of ourselves may change over time, as Lizzy has mentioned.

I am still sorting out the complexities in my own life. There are some things I feel very sure about, at least at this point in my life. Yet, some others still need further clarification. I understand that my understanding of myself may change at anytime. Gender is fluid.

The key is to live a life that brings you true joy! :D

EnJOY Life!

I consider myself a straight female... but the curves of the feminine physique are beautiful and mystifying even for me. It is extremely rare I find a woman arousing but it has happened once or twice, always with a woman whose got a great set of curves. I'm not really sure how much of it is envy, probably all of it but even I have to admit I find them beautiful and attractive in some form.

I don't there is a "normal cis male/female reaction". I think it's all individual with many varying factors involved.

The thing is, there IS no 'normal' in either cis or trans gender. When you say 'normal' do you mean straight? Even within that category there is no 'normal' coz what one man or woman might find attractive, another person wouldn't necessarily.

I guess at a push I would say that a lot of straight males would look at breasts and find them sexually attractive. Also a lot of lesbian women would do the same but may also (I gather from what I've heard) think 'I wish I had a body like that'. I can't tell you what the average straight woman would think to be totally honest with you. I've never been one or hear one talk about it. I always stayed away from that kind of girl talk because it makes me feel like a guy sneaking into the girls locker room if I let women talk that way in front of me.

As Lizzy said, feelings and thoughts can get confused though and sometimes it takes a work out the difference between being attracted to something or wanting to be like it. In the past I assumed that when I looked at pictures of beautiful ladies I was wanting to look like that and when I saw pictures of men I was attracted to them but I now realise it was totally the other way around - I want to look like the men and am attracted to the ladies!

...so I wouldn't use feelings about seeing pictures of women's bodies as something pivotal to how you see yourself for now. Try to allow yourself to explore both your feelings about yourself and your feelings over seeing other peoples bodies without confining it with labels or comparisons to anyone else.

I put normal in quotes, meaning what most of society would say is normal.

Hi Kendra K,

A couple of times I have had some interesting conversations with some of the women in town, these are all straight married cisfemales. The subject was male strippers and I made the comment that the male body does nothing for me and actually care not seeing a nude male body but I might enjoy watching female strippers. Each cisfemale that was in the conversation agreed to some degree. Three out of the four said they would rather watch female strippers vs male strippers and the reason for this they stated, the male body is just not as attractive as the female body stating the female body is beautiful.

As for boob looking I have been amazed at what I have noticed how people react to me. I gave up on bra's and my girls have been cage free for a long time. When in town doing my thing most guys are looking, well staring, that's the nature of cismales. But what I find interesting is the high number of cisfemales that also stare at my girls ,even when talking to them. I find many times that when talking to a cisfemale their eyes dart down to my girls then quickly back to my eyes. Some of these cisfemales know that I am trans and just maybe curious about them. For the cisfemales who do not know that I'm trans who I know are straight who look at my girls I really have no answer for that because I never asked them simply because I think it would embarress them.

I don't know how cis women think, and frankly, it's of very little importance to me. All I know is how I think.

My girlfriend, who is a more gender typical female than I am in most ways but is also attracted solely to women, seems to feel a combination of attraction and envy (?) when it comes to viewing other women's bodies. I put a question mark after envy because I'm not sure it is the right word, there does not seem to be bitterness attached to it, but there is definitely an element of "I would like that particular feature" attached to her admiration. When I look at the types of images you describe my admiration is a matter of attraction, I honestly would prefer to be less like them physically and if I start comparing those images to myself i get depressed quickly by how well I DO match up, so mostly I don't compare at all. I have plenty of straight female friends and mostly they seem to have a reaction of pure admiration that is not sexual, mixed with a certain amount of "I want that for my own appearance." Straight guys seem to admire in both sexual and aesthetic ways but obviously do not generally want female features for themselves. I agree with everyone else's assessment that there is no right or wrong here, and that any given reaction on your part does not make you any more or less of a woman. But I do see what you are trying to ask as far as where the averages lie, and this is my assessment.

@VickySGV    Good point.  There are websites full of porn and fantasies related to cross dressing, trans stories, etc., and people might easily think those are written by TG types and accurately describe TG folk.

No one has mentioned the Adult Entertainment Industry aka the Pornography Industry which for too long was the ONLY source of information about us for the general public.  I actually realized what I was from an XX Rated publication that I snuck behind a comic book at the neighborhood convenience / liquor store.  The person in the article told of her feelings up until and through GCS which I identified with completely, but then went on to the sob story of a marriage crashing when her knowing husband went to a new job and they found out she was Trans on a security check and threatened the husband with legal action unless he divorced her ---  yada yada!!   On that note she decided her  life was ruined. --    Other problems in the Porn Press are of course the "Morality" and it is there that child endangerment stories for actual mental illness types  comes in.  Also in that media they emphasize the Fetishistic Cross Dresser classification which is an actual addiction situation and is a harmful process addiction of sex that is as terrible as Drug and Alcohol Addiction can be.  The pornographic issues and sources of information are readily available in the opening pages of a Google Search while actual Trans information is about page 200 on the engine.   A recent misadventure I had that shows how acceptable I am as my True Self is that a man who claimed to be a church elder (minister??) told me how he had never come up with legitimate information   on Trans People and actual Trans Children and he went on to brag about what he did find that was morally damning by looking for the  information.  He continued to go into detail about other pornographic sources and how nasty they were. I asked him then why HE, a MINISTER kept looking at the Porn.  He replied to me that he kept up with it to warn his congregation of the true evils he had seen so he could minister to them.  Happily for me a friend of mine came along so I could  break away from the guy who was after my soul.  (He did not read me as Trans, whew!!)

Just like anything else that is new it's always the thing that people fear of. People are typically afraid of change. Even something as simple as new procedure at work or the population growing. Typically just have the mindset of it's not broken then don't fix it type of attitude. The world is progressing and they need to accept that or they will eventually be left behind. A good example after WW II women working in the workforce things didn't go well at all due to a lot of butting heads. There are still even people now that think women are only meant for housework and raising babies.

I've actually seen a lot of people who at least tolerate the LGB and not the T. There's also some of the gay/lesbian population that, unfortunately, alienate trans people away from other parts of the community.   To me, the biggest block is probably the lack of formal exposure. If people aren't taught about LGBT they will, just like any other topic, come to misunderstandings and more. Besides, how can most LGBT people figure out that they are such if they don't know it exists? I know that, personally, I didn't realize I was a guy rather than just someone who wanted to be a guy until I was introduced to trans as a concept

You're welcome. I wanted to post something new that I haven't posted yet.

That's a lot of weight congratulations. I was almost about to become a K9 handler in the Air Force back in 2006 but I found out that once you get promoted to E7 you lose your dog. You can get it at E4 as long as they need them but it is usually E5. If you don't understand military jargon, I'll help you out. I didn't want to join the Marines because I actually like to be treated better. I was Security Forces and performed security, law enforcement and everything you could think of such as convoying, fire fights, search pit just to name some. It also helped that I had family that was Air Force and I went through Air Force Junior Reserves Officer Training Corps so I knew the basics of Air Force already. That's awesome that you have goals in life. I hope you get it.

@FelixThePickleManTrust me I know the feeling. I didn't have the guts to come out that young. It wasn't well known back then. I knew I felt completely wrong. I knew for sure my parents weren't going to help me so I hid it all. It hurt a lot to live a lie. I always pretended to be the female that I was dating. I prayed and cried every night. It's not easy because bullying has always been around and the teachers didn't really care about that stuff back then.    You can make it through this. I would like to help you out just like I have with previous members. It's going to be up to you if you would like it. It's not going to happen overnight I can promise you that. For every negative thing or comment it typically needs double the number for positive things to feel better about yourself. You unfortunately are living with your parents which they are getting used to you coming out too. Sometimes coming out you're going to lose a lot of support. I lost over 40 family members but I'm happier than what I was. I still look at the mirror and still have my issues which is typical because we know our own faults and short comings. You have to value yourself. There isn't going to be an easy life. We all face many obstacles and it's harder for the ones that have something else to deal with.   We aren't in the same boat as some people are in yachts, cruise ships, and so on. There are perks and cons to each one. The best thing is to find something that you are great at and focus on that while trying to improve on the little things. Some have rituals everyday such as a new Bible verse that is related to what you are going through or a poem there are many poems for everything.

Tonight we will split a thick cut ribeye steak grilled outside, along with fresh asparagus shoots, apple sauce, and fresh cucumber salad. The steak has already been seasoned, wrapped in butcher paper resting to room temperature. The cucumber salad is blended and resting in the refrigerator.   Tomorrow's dinner will be Chicken drumsticks (skin on) that are already marinating in Zesty Italian dressing. Tomorrow I will smoke the drumsticks with apple-wood smoke, before crisping them up on the grill. We'll also have grilling beans, and garlic mashed potatoes.   The outside kitchen is now open.   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Clutching of pearls because people that don’t “align with society” party to excess is part of the problem, not a symptom of one. Cis-het folks are out there airing their sexuality, reveling in their debauchery, and displaying general anti-social behaviors all the time but aren’t reacted to in the same manner.   The most important T in this conversation is Time. As long as there is not a fascist, violent, crackdown on LGBTQ+ people, our exposure to society (at least in Western society) will continue to move it towards our acceptance.

I have three within a two block walk! You'd think I was in Seattle already! The one I have always gone to is the quintessential "local coffee shop" though; local artist's works on the wall, drinks named after customers and local geography, and it's run down just enough to feel homey. Also, I can bring my 20oz coffee mug in and get it filled for the price of a small! :D

Eczema was my excuse. *high fives!*   It's lovely when you get a nice interaction like that. Yesterday I got a "you're so sweet" from a man who I held the door for, I don't think he saw all of me until after he'd walked past so he only picked up on my outfit and body appearance. I was so paranoid that I used too male of a voice in return, but c'est la vie. I felt really nice after it though.   I tend to try to put in a lot of effort. If I wear make up, it has to be perfect, etc. I put this pressure on myself because I, too, don't have a chance in h-e-double hockey sticks at "passing".  So, I try not to make myself an "easy target".
