We always have alot of ??????? I ask them too . What I have learnt is we need to accept who we are and choose what is right for us . There are many people I have worked with who could not move some could not talk yet they were empowered to belive in themselves and to achieve in what they could do. We are all differnt and when u look at society there is not one walking human who has not got something wrong with them. Use this to ur advantage let it make u stronger . Imagine all the people u willbe able to reach out and help just by traveling ur journey making the right choices and let it strengthen so u become the woman u want to be . ((((hugs))))

I always wondered why I went through so much and through every experience I learnt something I let it strengthen me not destroy me . You to have that strength in you . Use it :)

I've heard some say that "acceptance is the answer"

Asking god why is a beginning, not an ending. At some point we make sense of things in our own way and move on. Witness the amazing act of determination by Spencer West this summer...

Spencer West, Double-Amputee, Climbs Kilimanjaro Using Only His Hands (People Mag)

Double amputee as a child and leading a most meaningful and satisfying life... Very cool.

Too much "why" leads to self pity. If I truly believe in god, and I continue to ask "why", I believe I am basically arguing with god rather than accepting gods will. If I accept who I am because I accept gods will, I can then move into: what is gods purpose for me....

Out of self pity and into action, like Spencer West...

May you find Peace. :)

Maybe a better question is why didn't he teach me how to be content with who i am. We all share your feelings at some time. I'm not putting you down. Just restating Michelle words about acceptance. There is a great prayer: God grant me the serenity to accept the things i cannot change , the courage to change the things i can and the wisdom to know the difference. For me the biggest thing i can change is how i see the world and how i accept what i've been given.

Hugs with a lot of understanding, Charlie

The one interesting story in the Bible for us Trans Folk actually involves a man born blind. In those days it was pretty terrible, and its not much of a good thing today. The Gospel Of John at Chapter 9, has the Disciples asking Jesus "Why was this man born blind, who goofed or who did something very wrong? To which, Jesus replys "Neither this man nor his parents fouled up, he was born this way so God could show off good stuff using him as an example." (Not quite what the Bible says in most versions, but close enough to how I get the message.) You go read the whole story, and you find all of the crud that the poor guy goes through "for being healed by God", and you wonder even more about things then, but the bottom line was the guy did just walk away from the place he caught the dickens from. Another case of "he did it so can I".

So, how is God going to get to show off things in my life or yours? Lets say God is responsible for things being there for us, and not quibble about it. We do have doctors and therapists, we have the medical personnel who can HELP us change, even if it causes problems for the other people. Only difference is that in the story, it was over and done in a few hours, in our case it will take a few years, and even at the rate its taking you. its going far faster than it did for me, or most of the folks who have answered you so far.

Per your stories, your mom is going at breakneck speed forward in your favor compared to what mine would have done. But then, my mom, who was a medical professional then, had no idea of what was going on with me. So in the meantime, God has been showing off by being behind new medical research, and writers who can make ordinary people understand what is going off.

In all of the years I have been asking the same question of God that you are, the answer comes back "Why shouldn't I do this to someone who I know will be able to take it? Slow down long enough (and I'll see you have the time) for Me to work on it with you, and it will get done to where both of us are happy!!" Same answer every time dang it!! But it is happening.

I believe we're the next 'test'. I believe God is testing us: all of us. It's a procession of 'different' people who have trouble being accepted or being seen as equals by 'the norm'. Think about it: first, women were the main oppressed group. This has improved a ton over the years and are now practically on par with the white male. Black people were oppressed next with all the slavery and segregation they went through. This too, has improved. Now, this brings us practically up to date with homosexuals. Their treatment has improved a little, but they are still in a bigoted stigma created by 'the norm'. Eventually this will improve and they will be viewed just as well in time. Now we go to the future. I believe we transpeople are the next group in line. All of these groups have been around for just as long, but oppression is only just changing with the last century or so.

I'm a girl with big ambitions in the world of writing: J.K. Rowling big ambitions. I don't want to be 'that author guy, but 'that author woman'. I believe if I can climb the literature ladder, I may find myself in a position to help the world accept us. I believe God made me trans for that very reason. Now, I hate being trans with all my being, but I can accept that this is my task and I'll do my best to carry it out. Maybe you can find a special purpose for yourself too.

I too believe that we are the way we are for a reason what we are trying to figure out is why but we will find it in due time. I was taught that everything exists on this planet for a reason. If something wasn't meant to exist it wouldn't be here. I believe god made me this way for a reason and I have to figure out why. If he didn't want me to be this way I wouldn't be this way. I still have a hard time accepting it but I'm here to try and find the answer to that question as well as others. So don't give up and don't let anybody else tell you that god doesn't like the way you are. So when you get older we will find out as well. The only other advice I can offer is if it makes you sad thinking about it then don't maul over it cause it will just keep making you depressed. Remember nobody is normal and everybody has things that they hide and have things about them that they don't like. Sorry for the ranting.

Danika,

I commend you for having such drive and determinatiion to reach JK Rowlings level. You and I both know that this is entirely possible. I watched her life story and she really had it ruff, to say the least. But, she never gave in and quit. She just kept pursuing her dream and in the end it all paid off.

Now, with your ambition to become a world reknown writer in the TS field, I am positive that you can and will accomplish this goal. So, what have you written so far; short stories, an autibio, or general fiction? No, I'm not being a smart butt here, but really am curious.

A writer has a certain fire within their heart and soul that burns 24/7. There are special words hidden deep within your soul that demand to be set free. The positive thing is we now have Kindle,Nook,Smashword and others that we can load our E-books onto. We do not have to depend upon the old fashioned and uppity publishing houses that look down upon unkown or unpublished authors.

So, get to writing and let that fire burn

Good luck- Mike

The name "Mississippi" comes from the Anishinabe tribe of Native Americans; the word means "Father of Waters."

frustration:  the frustration of creative instinct is a notorious evil of the machine age : the state or an instance of being frustrated. : a deep chronic sense or state of insecurity and dissatisfaction arising from unresolved problems or unfulfilled needs

That's horrible that they are blaming you for her presumption. I hate to say it but maybe they are looking for reasons.

I have no skin in the game here, apart from the signal that a re-elected Trump sends to likeminded politicians around the world, which would result in an indirect yet detrimental effect on many people here and elsewhere. So, hopefully what I write here can be used as a reference for how he, and American politics in general, is viewed from a country that is not directly involved.   It seems to me that politics is not taken seriously by enough people in America. Actually, specifically the USA (America can be anywhere from Prudhoe Bay to Panama to Patagonia). Electing a celebrity to high office just wouldn't happen here, let alone one who has overseen the bankruptcy of several of his business ventures and is embroiled in hush-money scandals. I remember during my teenage years when Reagen was elected; the main point of conjecture here was that he was just a B-grade actor. Equally laughable was Arnie as governor of California, although he turned out to be somewhat more socially progressive than most Republican politicians.    I simply cannot understand why the Dems cannot find a decent candidate. Biden has cognitive issues. Everyone expected Harris to step up by now, but no. Where's Jed Bartlet when you need him, lol! In my mind, if Martin Sheen threw his hat in the ring, he'd be elected in a heartbeat because many of you would actually believe that he was the real deal! Even though he's older than Biden!!!   Sorry if that sounds like I am trying to insult the intelligence of y'all. But y'all asked for it, by valuing celebrity over substance over the last five decades or so.    I have no doubt that Trump will win in November, even if he is in jail. His rusted-on supporters will just say, "Yep! That's our boy!!!"

Well said.    Although this so-called Project 2025 will not affect me directly in an immediate sense, it sends a signal to equivalent minded people and political parties around the world that it is okay to exclude minorities and indeed, to persecute them.   In my humble opinion, the far-right politicians know damn well that there is a very large cohort of less-than-intelligent people out there who are not capable of critical thinking and believe every skerrick of dog-whistling, fearmongering, "they're-out-there-to-get-you" rhetoric. Pander to their rural and village attitudes and you're on a winner!    Correcting them with logic and science won't work; they just double down and get louder with their petulance on full display.

Just waking up so I'm in my pajamas - blue/white madras shorts, a navy blue t-shirt and my sleep bra with sleep-rated breast forms.   Thank you @Susan R for telling us about your mastectomy bra and forms fitting experience before your BA surgery and how sleeping in the bra/forms helped with the dysphoria.    First, hearing about your courage to get fitted gave me the confidence and courage to go out in public.   And, second, finding sleep mastectomy bras and sleep-rated breast forms (I found a set on eBay for a good price) has been a tremendous boost to my feeling comfortable in my pajamas and nightgowns and tamping down my dysphoria and dysmorphia.
