There Is A Force

Within each of us never dormant there beats a heart

That keeps us alive but as for living it is just the start

There is a force that wells up from within each human the young and old

The meek and the heroic it does not matter if you are fearsome to behold

The simple fact is that there is within each a burning desire

And it is this force that always kindles and maintains the fire

You have heard tales of someone who burns so bright

That their very presence lights up the darkest night

What is it that sets them apart from me and you

While we sit and make plans to try they only do

How do we become these fearless types full of flame

While we sit doing nothing just being timid and tame

Look deep within yourself find what it is that you truly desire

Realize that it is all up to you for there is no one you can hire

You alone possess the fire that essential component to kick start the drive

Enabling the engines of life to move you from mere existence to being alive

Your lungs have always breathed in the air

You can feel all of that power so take care

The first steps are tricky and might cause you to stumble

Do not stop with just one misstep to lie there and grumble

You must press on for the stakes are far too high

Stay bound to Earth or choose to soar to the sky

That fire has burned within you and caused wonder as a child

But as adults we bank it forget it and fear that it might run wild

Rekindle that flame for it is the link to the past

To childhood and those wondrous days at last

The fire is an extension of a flame that was burning before we arrived

It has laid dormant in so many breaking out in only enough to survive

Let loose the powers of the ancient world where we dared to explore

Find new challenges and conquering one always searching for more

The mind of a child does not know of fear or how to fail

Taught by their parents to be meek to be afraid and frail

Look at your feet and remove those heavy shackles and run

Never stopping to think of what might go wrong just have fun

Living life as though still a child

Thoughts of wonder running wild

We all have within us the power to be kings

But so much better if put to simpler things

No need to fight for power or for wealth or for fame

Looking forward to each day for no two are the same
