Making The Shoulders Look Wider?

Well, I was wondering. Underworks makes shorts thingies to hide the hips, and shirts to compress the chest, and mango, and a few others make packers, and STP devices. But is there something for the shoulders? Mens shoulders are usually longer than their hips, while our bodies the hips are bigger, or about the same length as the shoulders. (It all depends)

Okay I look forward to reading everyone's responses. :)

I would like to say that sometimes we get wrapped up in what is 'normal'. My SO has helped me with this in a way that I am so very grateful. I have health issues that precludes me from the majority of options available to FTMs. Because of my extreme limits, I had to come to the realization that my physical appearance wasn't what would make or break me. I am not transexual to present myself outwardly. I am who I am because of what is inside. I had to stop my testosterone...I don't bind, pack, or otherwise, and yet, people rarely address me anything other than 'sir'.

I was at a fast food establishment one day and the cashier handed me my change and said. "thank-you, sir." When she noticed my obvious chest, she had a strange look on her face and said, "I'm sorry, ma'am?" As she stepped back, she was so confused. I simply ask her if it mattered and laughed. She laughed and said, "No sir. I guess it doesn't!"

I tell that story to say that we all have to decide what is best for us, BUT it doesn't at all change who we are. The beauty of life is seeing and appreciating the uniqueness of ourself and others. A simple car accident can leave you disfigured, but it wouldn't mean that you suddenly become ugly. I guess I just want you to see your beauty and strengths and be careful not to get caught up in every small detail. Likewise, do whatever you want because it is your life and your call!

BTW, when I saw your picture, I saw nothing but male so kudos, SIR!

I find my binder makes me keep my back straight so my shoulders are always pulled back(which there suppose to anyway) and helps make my shoulders look wider. You may not notice because you're relaxed but alot of people slump their shoulders foward. It's better on your back their not anyway - so its a good habit to get into(keeping your shoulders back).

Please, gawd, no. I have visions of the 80s in my head.

As for wider shoulders, chest press, shoulder press, etc. are tricks for it. Also, losing the extra 6pack (or 12 pack or kegger, as I have) can also create that effect. Clothing could do it but not without creating nightmare flashbacks to 80s wild hair and such. ;)

I could tell yu excatly how to do this. It supersucks gettin' there but it works like a charm.

When I was fightin' this thing a bit I did somethin' rilly stupid and started liftin' with a buddy of mine, right?

Well, this cat was all about this fitness and weight lifting thing and I managed to pick up a few things along the way.

Maybe after tellin' you this I can datadump it from my hard drive, huh? Heehee!

Anywho, you got butterfly small barbells. Don't do it fast either. Don't use a Rocky Movie as a geekafier cause you'll be wasting time.

You gotta take slow reps and let that muscle tear. Like I said, it's no fun at all...but it works.

Stand up, and when you have like a five pounder on each side, elavate 'em as high as you can then down again in a slow motion.

This is the arm motion you'd make while makin' an angel in the snow, know what I'm sayin?

Forget reps. Do this until you can't do it anymore, take a short break to get some water and go directly back to it. Trust me.

I hope that helps.

Oh gawd. I had a trainer that used to have me do that. Hurts like nuts! But ya. Does do the trick. May want to start at 2lbs. It sounds low but trust me: it HURTS! Really does work those muscles.

Standing arm lifts.

Time to do some weight lifting, thanks for the pointers amie...well if I can get off my computer for a moment. :o I work on computers, play on computers and school on computers. Worst of all I never gain weight no matter how much I eat. It's a bit hard for me to get motivated to work out sometimes.

ROFL Only someone who lived in the 80's will appreciate that. I'm 40 so I'm there with you Linus and I rolled. Although I do remember a certain "Miami Vice" jacket I owned once....but thats another story.

Excercise.

Increase the size of your deltoids to give your shoulders width.

Testosterone will broadedn then some actually, but for the rest excercise.

And the one Amie is describing is the ultimate one for the delts ;) -dumbbells do go quite a long way.

The stuff about the 80s referes to padded shoulder jackets etc I think, which I have worn before and don't look realistic at all. Shoulder and upper arm exersizes sound like the way to go...

Hrm. Wrists face up or down? >_> Or does it not matter? XD

Having tested them both out before, I would say by sensation that wrists down is your best bet.

So the guys at the gym weren't kidding when they said I had a lot of upper body strength.

Sorry, five pounds seems really light to me. But, yeah. If you're not used to this stuff, you might want to start lighter.

Or someone whos seen their parents high school photos... Dear lord, what were they thinking?

If you wear a long sleeve button up shirt over a t-shirt you will make your shoulders look broader and you'll look pretty class.

Hey man, I really appreciate what you said here. Living in Hershey so long has made my conscience terribly paranoid (fortunately I'm moving to OR soon, yay!) about my state of affairs, and although I know I shouldn't, I often get very caught up on the small details of my habits and appearance (things that aren't really part of who I am). Thanks for reminding me, it's nice to at least hear someone else besides the voices in my head tell me that, even if it's through text on the internet.

Just one tip I found works: wear suit jackets over casual shirts. It looks really cool. It looks rather hipster-ish, but awesome. It also makes your shoulders look far broader. If you have a very flat chest, horizontal stripes will help broaden the chest horizontally.

Just got a suit jacket today. And it does broaden the shoulders.

I take my hikes with wrist weights and I can see some difference fairly quickly. Swinging my arms with them on does build up shoulder muscle. I'll be swimming daily again soon and that really makes a difference.

So an update from me.   Had my endo appointment last night. Went very well and they are sending 3 months supply of estrogen (estradoil patches) and the anti-androgens whilst my Dr gets a shared care agreement sorted out. So happy, should start HRT tomorrow!! Cost for the 3 month supply is £70 total for me, so not too bad. Not told my parents about this yet, but them being in spain, not sure they need to know yet.   Can't wait to start, just got to think about where to put the patches now and wait for the changes...

Good Morning    well it’s Friday for most, pay day for some.  For me it’s pay day but not Friday.  I work the same opening shift tomorrow.  I typically have Friday on Saturday and Monday on Tuesday.     @KymmieL it does sound like your shop has an issue and you are smack in the thick of it.  The new gal or guy often is.  We have an issue with new people not getting fully trained before being turned loose on customers.  Some struggle through it and some quit because of it.  I try to get them working with customers as quickly as I can but I stay right with them observing, helping, even jumping in when things are getting backed up to keep the stress down.  Not everything comes up during training so when things do, even later after trying is done, I try to help and explain.  Our ASM feels that once she has you scanning barcodes and taking money she is done training.  Generally, refuses to train me on things that she does, and questions why I’m doing something that she normally handles when I’ve been told to do it as part of my advancement training.     She and the cashier involved both keep trying to toss the manager under the bus over a hours of work issue and shifts.  I tell her I realize her issues and I’ll work what ever she needs.  Because of that I tend to get a better more consistent schedule.   Well, time to say Happy Trails to you, until we meet again.   Hi ho Silver, away   Willow

That does get you the 'starting point' for cup size, but manufacturers, style, breast shape, etc... will effect the results.    Step one is of course finding the proper band fit, then figuring out the approximate cup size with the calculations. Of course you need to try on a few styles after that in different cup sizes close to your measured result until you get the perfect fit.    I have bras in a DD that fit just like my bras in DDD both from Torrid but different styles.    I have some DDD's that fit awesome and some that are a bit loose, but I measure a 46G. It's not wonder that 80% of women are wearing them wrong bra.

I firmly believe I drank entirely to much for about 25 years. Got drunk every day. This was my coping mechanism to keep hiding deep inside that I was a woman. I miss a lot of signs over the years. Now I drink mabye 1 or 2 beers a day don't even get a buzz anymore. totally accept myself and on regret is that I hide that part of my self which  truly makes me happy being violet 💜. I wasted a lot of time before  being self destructive and had no clue I was just hiding th real me

Hey, everyone. my life is going down the tubes. at least I think. So, today. A customer called about his car, I told him that the oil change was done. The parts to fix the check engine light are ordered. He can come and get it. For the weekend if he wants. Customer says I didn't want an oil change. it was check the engine light and check for an oil leak. Checking the work order says oil change. The boss wrote the vehicle up. checking with the customer on services wanted.   Being that I wrote down the appointment in the book. and clearly states oil leak. She is complaining because she can't read my small ish writing. It seems she read oil and assumed it as an oil change. It seems like she is blaming me.  She wound up going home because she was too upset. She is stressing about an eye problem she has, she has to get eye surgery it seems she has a tear in her eye.    I feel that I am short for this job. because of the BS they are blaming me on. Plus I am still upset about the trust issue. If either one of the bosses start their Shite tomorrow. I am walking out.

"I love you so much,"  Lois said.  They met in the driveway. "I could not live without you." "Neither could I." "What are we going to do?" "Find another counselor?" "No. I think we need to solve this ourselves." "Do you think we can?" "I don't know.  But what I know is that I don't want to go through that again.  I think we have to hope we can find a solution." "Otherwise, despair." "Yeah.   Truce?" "Okay,  truce." And they hugged.   "When we know what we want we can figure out how to get there."   That began six years of angry battles, with Odie insisted he could dress as he pleased and Lois insisting it did not please her at all.  He told her she was not going to control him and she replied that she still had rights as a wife to a husband. Neither was willing to give in, neither was willing to quit, and their heated arguments ended in hugs and more.   They went to a Crossdressers' Club, where they hoped to meet other couples with the same problems, the same conflicts, and the same answers, if anyone had any.  It took them four tries before they settled on a group that they were both willing to participate in.  This was four couples their own age, each with a cross dressing husband and a wife who was dealing with it.  They met monthly.  It was led by a 'mediator' who wanted people to express how they felt about the situation.  Odie and Lois, as newcomers, got the floor, and the meeting was finally dismissed at 1:30 in the morning - it was supposed to be over at 10 - and everyone knew how they felt about the situation.   There was silence in the car on the way home.   "We aren't the only ones dealing with this." Odie finally said.   "Who would have thought that?  You are right."   "Somebody out there has a solution." "I hope you are right."   "I hope in hope, not in despair."   "That's my Odie."

The counseling session was heated, if you could call it a counseling session.  Sometimes Lois felt he was on Odie's side, and sometimes on hers.  When he was on her side, Odie got defensive. She found herself being defensive when it seemed they were ganging up on each other.   "This is not working," Lois said angrily, and walked out.  "Never again. I want my husband back. Dr. Smith you are complicit in this."   "What?" said Odie.   The counselor looked at him.  "You will have to learn some listening skills."   "That is it? Listening skills?  You just destroyed my marriage, and you told me I need to learn listening skills?"   Dr. Smith said calmly,"I think you both need to cool off."   Odie looked at him and walked out, saying "And you call yourself a counselor."   "Wait a minute."   "No."
