Courage

After my third meeting with my therapist, I told her some very horrific things that bullies have done to me. She even had to take a moment of silence to reflect on the pure emotions that were at stake. She said that I was intensely courageous to continue to get up each day. I must wear my battle wounds with pride.

Courage

Inside someone so small was a truth so big

that they could not understand and threatened

the fabric of their entire lives up to this moment.

A tiny boy's soul radiated with the purity that
only a girl could have. Her existence was his only

comfort and he hid her to keep her safe from them.

He knew that she was always there with him, and

he kept her alive. She told him that despite his pain,

she felt his pain as well and they need each other.

Soft skin was forcibly mangled, but she was strong

in their suffering. And each night, the fragile boy cried.

She reminded him that together, they will overcome it.

New wounds ripped open over previous cuts daily,

she can feel the blood oozing down their foreheads

and purple welts on their backs. She held him close.

Dangling arms torn out of their sockets, bruised bones

blue with repeated attacks laced with fear and ignorance.

He wanted to die but she refused as she was maimed too.

After the years pass, he cannot stand to hide her anymore.

Letting her out, he finally realizes that she took on his pain too.

Smiling through broken teeth, she says... "I am the real you!"

Through the sobs, he nods and accepts this truth happily.

The severely beaten woman embraces him as she set him free.

Scars remind this beautiful lady how much courage she has.

There you have it! I hope you all like it!

Powerful

I am so sorry that you had to experience it to write about it but so happy that you are strong enough to push past it. Stay strong Lily Rose - what doesn't kill you makes you stronger!

Hugs

You have painted an emotion and vision filled portrait of what life is like to Trans Kids. This is why I always tell people to keep and honor their birth genders some where in their lives. For a long time one must fight and protect the other, but in time will receive the peace and love that is truly deserved. As Diane said, Powerful, and welcome to a fellowship of heros where you both can be loved.

Hi LilyRose,

I really enjoyed your poem.

Many of us can relate to it.

As you know, I have re-started seeing a therapist.

It also brought back very painful memories of my past and I also did a lot of crying.

I always feel better after purging my body of painful memories of my past.

Love,

Amazing poem!

It stirred great emotion in me as I felt much of the pain.

I cant help but think how strong all these things actually made us without even realizing it.

I enjoyed reading your poem even though some of it hurt.

Don't think Americans would go for the "compulsory" part. We kind of like not being told what to do ... Amazingly, there is great pushback on voter ID laws. The opponents say it discourages voting, especially among the poor and minorities. That is really a smokescreen IMO for those who want to harvest ballots from as many places as possible, including folks who don't exist or don't hold citizenship...

Pretty soon I think I might be ready to talk about gender-affirming care for kids, possibly w/r/t the Cass Review and its shortcomings.

She was a beautiful young woman ...   "What we do know is that the offender was a very violent individual and should not have been on our streets.”  Whether gender related or not, the mental health and incarceration issues in our country are incredibly bad and need to be addressed.

April,   I'm glad my entries are interesting to you.  TransCentralPA is a great organization with so many caring people.  I would strongly recommend you find a way to attend the Keystone Conference.  I guarantee you'll find it an amazing experience.     Hugs,   Sally

Dear @Sally Stone.  I think you should author a memoir based on these posts (maybe you're already working towards that?).  You could decide at a later time if/when you might want to publish.   I appreciate you sharing your deep connection with your friend Willa (and I am sorry for your loss) and the benefit of having a Trans friend and mentor in our Life and Journey.  I was fortunate to have found one also in our TGP friend @Kasumi63.   As you know we share many common Life themes in our stories.  Drop me a PM if you'd like to chat about it.  Looking forward to the next 'chapter'.

Voting is compulsory here, for better or worse. Would doing the same in the US snap people out of their apathy?

I am noting you use CRT terminology.  The comment is not out of the blue.  Some of your remarks on religion suggest atheism.  So it is believable that you are a Marxist, knowingly or not.  Are you?

Congrats to your family on the new addition!

Funny you think that I would be able to get through more than two sentences with how bad my stutter gets (joking, of course)   My topic would probably be mythology, random Japan factoids in my mind, or a favorite story   (Best option would be a fave story of mine including a lot of factoids on Japanese myths-)

Congratulations @ivy. Nothing beats a family growing two feet at a time!

I read each of your entries and learn so much. Thank you, especially, for the TransCentralPA info. I have been looking fora group and activities where I could express myself safely and with support. I missed this year's conference but next year might be possible and I am going to look at their other events, too.

I have read numerous accounts of trans folk no longer being welcome among evangelicals.   I am here for help and fellowship not to rebuke anyone.  I can take a pretty high degree of insult, etc., and you haven't insulted me, to my recollection anyway :) and I usually let it go.  But I thought I would let it all out there.   I am sure I disagree with you on numerous issues.  I appreciate other people's viewpoints, including those who radically disagree with me.  Intellectual challenge is good. One thing I appreciate about @MaeBe.
