My surgery date is set...

...the airfare tickets are purchased. Now I have to hold my breath and wait until August 3rd.

I'm cleaning, sorting and packing bit by bit to pass the time away. Prep the bed, clean the bedroom and bath. Tick, tick, tick, the time goes so slow.

I woke to this joyous email today. Arrive on the fourth, consultation on the fifth, surgery on the seventh. The surgeon wants you to get a good nights sleep. What? Fat chance for this insomniac! I will be the little girl awaiting by the GRS Christmas tree with a bucket and crate of milk and cookies, waiting for Santa Surgeon to give me my best present ever!!!

Oh look! There on the night stand, an emotion expression chart with all the little faces. Hmm, let's find me... Happy? Very! Nervous? Not really. Anxious, impatient, thrilled, excited, apprehensive, immature, who put that in there? Well yes to all of those. Calm, peaceful, tranquil, content. Yes in a strange sort of way... Geez this is harder than I thought...

I wonder what other people thought and felt dreaming and planning before their surgery? Well that might take the edge off my gitters. Oh Aug 6th may be open? WOW maybe a Bangkok AA meeting! Lunch and some shopping would be unique too. I hope others will share their thoughts? Hug. JodyAnn

Hi JodyAnn,

Bet you end up going through all the emotions you've ever had and probably some you haven't during your time out there.

Exciting times!

Hey JodyAnn, many congratulations on getting your date. It's wonderful getting that and know tha t you are on the home straight.

Believe me when I say those last couple of months whizz by, they really do. Then, all of a sudden you are waking up from surgery wondering what all the fuss was all about. A week ago I was fasting ready for my surgery and here I am about to be discharged and sent home - where did those last 2 months disappear to?

Best of luck JodyAnn.

Here is a website that allows you to find out some information about AA meetings in Bangkok. I have a dear friend in the program who recently returned from having surgery there. She had a great time if a "bit" uncomfortable afterwards.

http://www.aathailand.org/content/contact-form google is such a great resource. I even saw a GLBT meeting in Thailand. What fun!

Hugs,

Charlize

Giggle, great sober girl minds think alike! I bookmarked that page yesterday.

The only trick is to use the information, that and finding a ride. Good play Charlize! Thanks.

Hello JodyAnn, always great news when a transsexual woman gets her turn. In this case it’s yours!

I was very thankful that I had a full work schedule with many assignments leading up right up to my SRS date. Kept my mind off SRS. In retrospect maybe taking the day off prior to the surgery would have been nice.

About 60 days prior to SRS, I started recording my RLE/RLT YouTube series. Became very attentive at keeping an accurate daily log. Both helped me feel I had accomplished another daily step towards SRS.

You might also consider watching plenty of those just prior to and just after SRS YouTube videos. While it appears we all have different outcomes, there is a lot to learn from those who walked the path prior to us. Life can be very different once one undergoes SRS. I found myself very unprepared for womanhood 2.0.

If you can, try being social, VickySGV and I attended a t-girl event together. Getting out and letting my hair down was very much needed fun.

Have a good trip!

Anne

Thanks Anne,

I'm stuck in a retirement park. Semi retired. The starter died in my poor little truck today. How typical. Giggle.

I finished my folklore musical stomp box today. I'm midway on my cigar box tenor guitar and two Telecasters to finish. I can preoccupy myself.

The best diversion is longingly looking at my new dialator sex...er...I mean set. Also dreaming about all my new fashions I can wear without worrying about the bump.

What day is This? Is it August yet? Hug. JodyAnn

The name "Mississippi" comes from the Anishinabe tribe of Native Americans; the word means "Father of Waters."

Fighting a fever since yesterday. Been shivering cold. even though I keep the house at 71. Went to bed at about 8 last night slept until my wifes alarm was going off.    Ashley I think you are correct. However, they won't be graced with my presence today.   Hugs,   Kymmie

That's horrible that they are blaming you for her presumption. I hate to say it but maybe they are looking for reasons.

I have no skin in the game here, apart from the signal that a re-elected Trump sends to likeminded politicians around the world, which would result in an indirect yet detrimental effect on many people here and elsewhere. So, hopefully what I write here can be used as a reference for how he, and American politics in general, is viewed from a country that is not directly involved.   It seems to me that politics is not taken seriously by enough people in America. Actually, specifically the USA (America can be anywhere from Prudhoe Bay to Panama to Patagonia). Electing a celebrity to high office just wouldn't happen here, let alone one who has overseen the bankruptcy of several of his business ventures and is embroiled in hush-money scandals. I remember during my teenage years when Reagen was elected; the main point of conjecture here was that he was just a B-grade actor. Equally laughable was Arnie as governor of California, although he turned out to be somewhat more socially progressive than most Republican politicians.    I simply cannot understand why the Dems cannot find a decent candidate. Biden has cognitive issues. Everyone expected Harris to step up by now, but no. Where's Jed Bartlet when you need him, lol! In my mind, if Martin Sheen threw his hat in the ring, he'd be elected in a heartbeat because many of you would actually believe that he was the real deal! Even though he's older than Biden!!!   Sorry if that sounds like I am trying to insult the intelligence of y'all. But y'all asked for it, by valuing celebrity over substance over the last five decades or so.    I have no doubt that Trump will win in November, even if he is in jail. His rusted-on supporters will just say, "Yep! That's our boy!!!"

Well said.    Although this so-called Project 2025 will not affect me directly in an immediate sense, it sends a signal to equivalent minded people and political parties around the world that it is okay to exclude minorities and indeed, to persecute them.   In my humble opinion, the far-right politicians know damn well that there is a very large cohort of less-than-intelligent people out there who are not capable of critical thinking and believe every skerrick of dog-whistling, fearmongering, "they're-out-there-to-get-you" rhetoric. Pander to their rural and village attitudes and you're on a winner!    Correcting them with logic and science won't work; they just double down and get louder with their petulance on full display.

Just waking up so I'm in my pajamas - blue/white madras shorts, a navy blue t-shirt and my sleep bra with sleep-rated breast forms.   Thank you @Susan R for telling us about your mastectomy bra and forms fitting experience before your BA surgery and how sleeping in the bra/forms helped with the dysphoria.    First, hearing about your courage to get fitted gave me the confidence and courage to go out in public.   And, second, finding sleep mastectomy bras and sleep-rated breast forms (I found a set on eBay for a good price) has been a tremendous boost to my feeling comfortable in my pajamas and nightgowns and tamping down my dysphoria and dysmorphia.
