Social Media Creeps

Hello All:

So recently I have been getting alot of creepy guys that have been sending me their cheese pickup lines with friend request that I do not know who the heck these people are.  I have my Social Media set to private and friends only, and so I get friend request from these creepy guys.  I first off ignore just request cause if I dont know you or have never talked to you, then I will not friend you.  That's why when I send friend request, I always chase my request with a message on who I am and how I know the person and where we talk from or met from.  Like how I have friends from here on Facebook and when I have asked to friend them, I have chased it a message on how I know you and where we talk.

But it is starting to get too much with getting request from guys that I dont know and have never talked to or never met before and they are like doing their pickup lines like "Hello Beautiful, How about you and me some time"  These pictures of them are so gross and creepy they have been sending me on their request.  I am wondering if it's a guy's fantasy to be with a Trans woman or is it that I am passing more.  I am ready to delete my Social Media but I am using it for my 20 year high school reunion coming up and sometimes I get board as well.

But I dont know what more I can do other than setting my account to friends only, and private and just keep ignoring the creepy request that I get.

I get the odd strange request too, always from men. You are doing right by limiting your information to private but obviously something is attracting them. Look at your avitar, and think if the information you post publically can be having an effect. Another point to note is that, although your information is marked private, information shared with a friend who has not got strict privacy settings may be more publically accessible. It gets complicated! It is really like life in general. You will always have creeps down the mall. It's just that online seems private. I treat social media like I used to CB radio. When talking to someone one to one I always assumed there were 50 wiggers listening in.

Personally I ignore them while I think. I have one in limbo at the moment, and do wonder where he came from as he has no local friends at all. He will go!

I hear that.  Wonder if these people are coming in through my friends that have their profile public and they find me through my friends and then send me the request that way.  I am also wondering if the request that I get that have no information in the profile and only have a single picture if they could be just bots.

Maybe I should take down all my pictures cause how maybe my pictures are attracting these creeps.  All I can do for myself is keep doing what I do with my privacy settings set and just ignore these creepy request with the cheesy pickup lines.

The weird comments and whatnot are nothing unusual. It’s a side effect of being online. It will never stop. Creepers creep. They find you from groups you’re a part of because that’s all public. Or through friends that have public posts. All of my Beachbody posts are public. I get requests every day from guys. I get messages regularly as well. Not quite daily but almost. And a lot of them are pretty forward. It’s nothing that women don’t deal with every day. So you get the choice. You can hide from the world and not have to deal with it, or you can keep hitting delete and not worry about it.

Amy wait until it starts happening irl when you’re out and about. That’s when it gets really creepy. Just wait till some guy tells you he wants to slam you against the wall and shove his _____ hard into your _____!! Talk about forward rite?! ??? But it happens. And it’s pretty normal for women to have to deal with.

Wow.  That is scary.  I know that I have had a few cat calls in public, but I have just ignored them and kept walking away.

Do they repeat themselves? Do they reply with generic type comments? They could be bots. I’ve experienced similar type messages , and when I check to see if they are real, they never have followers, or they have other signs they are bots. Can you Report the creeps?

I get a mix of them.  Some I know they are bots cause when I check their profile, There is no information and they only have one picture.  So that there to me is a bot.  Then I do get the real guys where on their profile they are married and have kids and yet they are requesting to be friends with me and sending me cheesy pickup lines and wanting to hook up.  So I get a mix of real and bots.

Over on FB, I just report all of them as SPAM.  I do have one picture of a can of Vienna Sausages that I have been known to send back in PM's (DM"?) before I block them.  I also have one picture that I put on my site from time to time when I have been cloned that warns my real friends to look out for my doppelgangers and report the fakes.  It is a deliberately ugly evil picture of how I can look!!

Hey Amy Kristin is right. Either someone posted your pic bye mistake on some site or is up to no good. My back story is this' I use to be a working girl. Talk about creeps, Can I ask you something: do they know your transgender? Are your pics sexy in anyway? Because most of the men I was with knew off me because of a specific site..(aka ) C.L, Back P and so on. And they were very specific on what they want it aTG. So if that's the case then someone you know or known is up to no got and you should report or erase the S.M. or simply tell the friends you trust that they can reach another way. But from my experience Men who are into T.G or CD are super creepy most (80%) are married or "say their straight" and they are all super aggressive. So please be careful.  I hope this has not change anyone opinion about me but I had to do what I had to do,,not proud of but it made me stronger.  I am still a messy and hideous but a bit stronger..

The bots that are sending me these request are just ignored.  The real guys, I believe it's just them looking for Transgender Women which on one of my social media sites in my profile, I have mentioned that I am a Trans Woman.  But the real guys are like I want to fulfill my fantasy with being with a Trans woman and alot of these guys that send these messages according to their profile before I delete there request are saying they are married.

Right now, I dont know what my sexuality is, but with all these creepy and scary request.  Guys are just rude and creeps and I am kinda of finding women attractive and feeling like I am a lesbian and much rather find a girl than a guy cause of the way how guys are and how these request are just scaring me off from guys.

But I am being safe and just deleting the request and I am not even responding.

Good to hear that you are deleting and ignoring. People can be very crass when they hide behind their computer screen, and now that everyone has internet access, there are millions more creeps out there creeping. That’s why I love it in here, nice and safe.

Alex - if there is one thing about this site you can rely on its that you are accepted and treated with the respect you treat others. If the rest of the world worked on this principle we would be a lot better off!

Amy, as others have said it's just a part of being online, my male FB page gets requests from Russian women wanting to marry me or meet up for fun in my local area all the time - if I took them seriously there is an epidemic of -excited- women just hanging around the countryside all hooked into the non existent wifi, unfortunately it is just a part of our culture now - go through your pictures and make sure the settings on them are private too, sometimes FB does not include pictures the same way as posts when it updates your security settings. I ignore or delete any requests from anyone I do not know without looking at the accompanying messages.

It is only on this site and one other that I have posted pics of me as Dee, because I feel safe to and even then I have never included a full shot of my face just in case, the rest of the time I use a gif so that there isn't anything to grab unwanted attention.

I have read numerous accounts of trans folk no longer being welcome among evangelicals.   I am here for help and fellowship not to rebuke anyone.  I can take a pretty high degree of insult, etc., and you haven't insulted me, to my recollection anyway :) and I usually let it go.  But I thought I would let it all out there.   I am sure I disagree with you on numerous issues.  I appreciate other people's viewpoints, including those who radically disagree with me.  Intellectual challenge is good. One thing I appreciate about @MaeBe.

Post 8 “The Ohio Years” We moved to Pittsburgh because of the job with US Airways.  The job involved classroom instruction and simulator training, but no actual flying, so I kept looking for an actual pilot position.  A year after signing on with US Airways I got hired to fly business jets.  The company was located in Cleveland, Ohio, but I was flown commercially from my home in Pittsburgh to where my aircraft was located, making it unnecessary to live near company headquarters.    My flight scheduled consisted of eight days on duty with seven days off.  Having seven days off in a row was great but being gone from home eight days in a row was difficult.  For the first few years the flying was fun, but after a while the eight flying days in a row, were taking their toll on me.  Those days were brutal, consisting of very long hours and a lot of flying time.  Usually, I came home exhausted and need three days just to recover from the work week.  Flying for a living is glamorous until you actually do it.  Quickly, it became just a job.    After five years as a line captain, I became a flight department manager, which required we live near company headquarters.  That meant a move to Cleveland.  Working in the office meant I was home every night but as a manager, the schedule was still challenging.  I would work in the office all week and then be expected to go out and fly the line on weekends.  I referred to it as my “5 on 2 on” schedule, because it felt as though I had no time off at all.   About the same time, we moved to Cleveland, my wife and I became “empty nesters,” with one son in the military and the other away at college.  Sadly, my work schedule didn’t leave much time for Sally.  Add to the fact that while Cleveland is an awesome city, I just never felt comfortable expressing my feminine side.  Most of my outings, and believe me there weren’t enough, occurred while I was on vacation and away from home.   One of the most memorable outings occurred over a long weekend.  I had stumbled across an online notice for a spring formal being held in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, hosted by a local trans group there.  I reached out to Willa to see if she was up for an excellent adventure.  She was, so I picked her up and we drove to Harrisburg together.    The formal was held on Saturday evening and we had the absolute best time.  It turned out that organizers were a group named TransCentralPA.  Everyone was wonderful and I made a lot of new friends that evening.  We learned the spring formal was one of the group’s annual events but for the following year, instead of a spring formal, the group wanted to do a local transgender conference.  That local conference would become the Keystone Conference, and I would attend every year for the next 12.  My move to the west coast was the only reason I stopped attending annually.  I went to the first annual Keystone Conference as an attendee, but in subsequent years I served as a volunteer and as a workshop presenter; more about those in the next installment.   For my Cleveland years, the Keystone Conference would be my major outlet for feminine self-expression.  Yes, I did get out on other occasions, but they were too infrequent.  The managerial job just didn’t allow me the freedom I needed to adequately live my feminine life, and my frustration level was slowly, but steadily on the rise.  It amazed me how adversely not being able to express the feminine half of my personality was affecting my happiness.   However, a major life change was upcoming, and while it would prove to be a significant challenge in many ways, the events would ultimately benefit my female persona.  First, my mom and dad got sick.  They were in and out of the hospital and required personal care.  My wife and I did our best but living in Cleveland, we were too far from them to give them the support they both needed.  Second, I was experiencing serious job burn out.  I decided I need to find another job and I needed to be closer to my parents.    Things changed for the better when I got hired by an aviation training company as a flight simulator instructor.  I would be training business jet pilots.  The training facility was located in New Jersey, which put us much closer to my parents, and the work schedule was much better for quality of life.  Most importantly, this life change would help Sally re-emerge and once again flower.    Hugs,   Sally

I made a living talking about bulk liquids in cargo tanks transportation as a driver and mechanic. Safe loading/unloading, cleaning and inspecting, as well as emergency response scenarios.   Hazmat and fire behavior in the fire service as well as emergency vehicle operations and safe driving. "It was on fire when they called you. It will be on fire when you get there." Arrive ready to work. I could also talk about firefighter behavioral  heath and the grieving process.   The real fun thing is I can do this for people who are not Truck Drivers or Fire Fighters. Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Citizen Tax payers about Public Safety Education.   I love public speaking,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Got a new Granddaughter this morning.  Mother and child (and father) are doing fine. This makes 7 granddaughters and one grandson.  I have 2 sons and 6 daughters myself.  And then I  switched teams.  I think this stuff runs in the family. Another hard day for the patriarchy.

Like @MaeBe pointed out, Trump won't do these things personally.  I doubt that he actually gives a rat's a$$ himself.  But he is the foot in the door for the others.   I don't really see this.  Personally, I am all in favor of "traditional" families.  I raised my own kids this way and it can work fine.  But I think we need to allow for other variations as well.   One thing working against this now is how hard it is for a single breadwinner to support a family.  Many people (I know some) would prefer "traditional" if they could actually afford it.  Like I mentioned, we raised our family with this model, but we were always right at the poverty level.   I was a "conservative evangelical" for most of my life, actually.  So I do understand this.  Admittedly, I no longer consider myself one. I have family members still in this camp.  Some tolerate me, one actually rejects me.  I assure you the rejection is on her side, not mine.  But, I understand she believes what she is doing is right - 'sa pity though. I mean no insult toward anyone on this forum.  You're free to disagree with me.  Many people do.   This is a pretty complex one.  Socialism takes many forms, many of which we accept without even realizing it.  "Classism" does exist, for what it's worth.  Always has, probably always will.  But I don't feel like that is a subject for this forum.   As for the election, it's shaping up to be another one of those "hold your nose" deals.

I was thinking in particular of BLM, who years ago had a 'What We Believe' section that sounded like they were at war with the nuclear family.   I tried to find it. Nope.  Of interest https://www.politifact.com/article/2020/aug/28/ask-politifact-does-black-lives-matter-aim-destroy/   My time is limited and I will try to answer as I can.

Well, I suppose it is possible that they don't actually plan on doing what they say.  I'm not too sure I want to take that chance.  But I kinda expect to find out.  Yet, perhaps you're right and it's all just talk.  And anyway, my state GOP is giving me enough to worry about anyway. I remember a time when being "woke" just meant you were paying attention.  Now it means you are the antichrist. I just don't want the government "protecting" me from my personal "delusions."
