New to the forum and just wanted to say hi! :3

Hoping to make some friends here as I currently have nada XD Used to have bad Social anxiety so I have always avoided introductions but have been doing a lot better with it. Been living as my preferred gender since 2016 and things have been going great transition wise. My family has been very supportive and I am grateful for that, but just wish they were more accepting of my fashion style (goth) but ah well ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

For hobbies n stuff, I am really into gaming with some of my favorites being the Dark Souls series + Sekiro, Halo, Hearthstone, Paladins, any Real Time Strategy game, MMOs and much more. Currently, own an Xbox One and an Alienware laptop that has been dying lately? Also, I love anime such as Death Note, Ergo Proxy, Danganronpa, Madoka Magica and Bleach.  Besides that, I really like to draw and have been wanting to be an illustrator or concept artist. Personality wise (according to Myer Briggs) I am either an INTP or an INFP. I keep getting those 2 every time I take the test XD I have always been skeptical of the test however so I do not put that much importance in the results.

So yeah! It is nice to meet you all ^ . ^

Hi Blair, pleased to meet you - The DeathNote series was a very clever idea! I love S.A.O and Attack on Titan. I always come out as INFP in the Meyers Briggs, but you will change slightly depending on your mood and social setting so you are right to take it with a pinch of salt and only use it as a tool to understand yourself and why you react to certain things and do not let it define you. Just join in where you want to and I'm sure you will make friends here. :)

Welcome Blair.  Your picture certainly speaks of your goth style.  Glad to read of your finding support in your transition.  I was a hippie as a young person.  Funny how that style still lives a bit in my fashion and lifestyle.  While it was radical once it seems rather mainstream now.  Enjoy yourself!

Hugs,

Yeah, Death Note is awesome! S.A.O is pretty cool though. Seen the movie and the first show. Apparently, there is a 3rd season and a spin-off  o.O

I know a little bit about Attack on Titan but never got a chance to watch the show but I heard it is pretty good. Makes sense about the Myer Briggs. From the research I have done it seems that the most popular theory, is that the individual’s type is inborn and does not change. However, individuals can develop traits and habits that differ or even directly contradict the description of their type. So there is that but it is just a theory in the end. Thanks for replying! ^^

Hi @Blair!

It seems your most recent comment in this conversation, with the multiple quotes, has revealed a bug in the forum system.  I'm trying to figure out if it was a one-time glitch or if it's something I need to report to the developers.

When you see this, could you do me a favor?  Could you quote Amberlea's post above mine, as well as mine, in a reply, with some text or other after each quote?  I'd like your experimental comment here to follow the same steps as the previous one from you above.

Never a dull moment around here, that's for sure.  :P

o.O

Sure though! If it is the wide empty boxes above the text then I have seen it happen a few times after I make a post. idk why. Well, hope you find the bug!

How strange.  No bug on the follow-up.  Since this has been an issue for you before, I'll send you a PM instead of hijacking your thread. :)

Hi Blair,

I am ENTP or ENTJ depending on the day I take the test.  So, I am totally like, "Who needs a plan? Let's see what happens when we push the big red button."  I was totally ENTJ  when I first took the test, but I've def drifted to the P.  The last time I took the test was about 4 years ago, and I was barely over the line into P, but I would bet I am strong in the ENTP area now.

I am somewhat into Attack on Titan because of a gal pal of mine in Costa Rica who is a hardcore fan.  I know what most of the rest of those are, because my daughters liked those when they were younger, and I am an old time paper-and-pen roleplayer whose friends often adored anime.

I am a PC exclusive gamer.  I've always avoided consoles because the PC always sucked me in enough.  I was afraid if I ever got a console they'd find me dead, staring at the screen and have to pry the controller out of my cold dead hands, because I didn't eat or anything. LOL.  I like MMOs, Survival games, voxel builders are fun at times, and some fps games.  Right now, I am playing Space Engineers with some friends, but only because my friends are playing it.  I am not real into it.   All my gamer friends are guys.  I would totally love a gal pal to game with.

Glad you're here.  We all need connections outside our immediate families, and it is totally helpful to know people who share similar experiences.  Hope to see you around the forums.?

Heyoo ( ^ . ^)/

Never met an ENTP/ENTJ before....well as far as I know. Interesting.  So a Debater then perhaps. One of the more rare personality types too so that is awesome!

Hahah i see. Probably for the best then. I can get really addicted to gaming as well and it does not help when Xbox offers the whole game pass thing (a subscription that gives you access to over 100+ games) which I regrettably got ?  I have heard of Space Engineers before. Never played it but have seen quite a few Youtube videos on it. I own a steam account and would totally love to have a friend to hang out with. I only own Real Time Strategy games however...besides Planet Coaster. My steam name is TicTac if you want to add me. Don't use it that often though.

Glad to be here ^^

I was more of a debater when I was younger.  I've softened with age.  I was way too proud when I was younger.  I can hold my own in a debate on a topic I know something about, and love a good challenge, but I don't feel like I need to debate anymore.

My big game has been Ark Survival Evolved for a while.  I was server admin for a four-server cluster.  The group has kinda burnt out on Ark, so the servers are not doing anything right now, and I am probably going to shut down two of them next month.  The other two have been paid in advance for awhile, so they will stay up.

I will look for and add you on Steam.  We might find something to play together.

Ah, I see.

I have heard a lot about Ark survival Evolved. Always wanted to give that game a shot but never got around to playing it. A server admin? Huh, interesting.

Oh! alright though. Awesome! ^^

Your welcome to join the servers.  If someone is playing I might keep them up.  Ark is pricey, is demanding of video cards, and we are PC only servers, because you can't cross-platform in Ark.  Plus, you can use mods on PC.  So, totally fun game with lots and lots and lots to do, from taming and breeding dinos to base building, to loot hunting, to cave exploring, to just going out to see if you can kill a giganotosaurus or titanosaur, there is so much game play on dry land and in the water.  I have a Discord server for voice chat.  Would totally love to have some new folks join.  I have like 4,000 hours of game play in it or something like that.

Ark has  different maps  you can use.  You can put a different map on each server and then cluster them, so you can travel back and forth between the maps.  Two of the maps are really radically different and some are similar to the base map.  We have Ragnarok, and The Center, which are more like a pre-historic wilderness.  The other two are post cataclysmic (Extinction and Aberration), and offer different terrain and creatures.

So, looked for Tic Tac.  There are lots of Tic Tac's on Steam.  Look for me as MRC.  I have a blue wolf head on a lavender background for an avatar.

I knew about the base building but taming dinos sounds awesome o.O Decided to look it up on steam today and can see why you have so many hours in it. Looks really fun. I noticed it has a few expansions hope it is cool if I grab the free maps only...that is if I buy the game. But yeah, seems like a game I could really get into and maybe a bit toooo into ?

I sent a friend invite. Just realized I have Terra (an mmo) which is free to play so I guess there is that too if you want to give it a try sometime ^ . ^

She was a beautiful young woman ...   "What we do know is that the offender was a very violent individual and should not have been on our streets.”  Whether gender related or not, the mental health and incarceration issues in our country are incredibly bad and need to be addressed.

April,   I'm glad my entries are interesting to you.  TransCentralPA is a great organization with so many caring people.  I would strongly recommend you find a way to attend the Keystone Conference.  I guarantee you'll find it an amazing experience.     Hugs,   Sally

Dear @Sally Stone.  I think you should author a memoir based on these posts (maybe you're already working towards that?).  You could decide at a later time if/when you might want to publish.   I appreciate you sharing your deep connection with your friend Willa (and I am sorry for your loss) and the benefit of having a Trans friend and mentor in our Life and Journey.  I was fortunate to have found one also in our TGP friend @Kasumi63.   As you know we share many common Life themes in our stories.  Drop me a PM if you'd like to chat about it.  Looking forward to the next 'chapter'.

Voting is compulsory here, for better or worse. Would doing the same in the US snap people out of their apathy?

I am noting you use CRT terminology.  The comment is not out of the blue.  Some of your remarks on religion suggest atheism.  So it is believable that you are a Marxist, knowingly or not.  Are you?

Congrats to your family on the new addition!

Funny you think that I would be able to get through more than two sentences with how bad my stutter gets (joking, of course)   My topic would probably be mythology, random Japan factoids in my mind, or a favorite story   (Best option would be a fave story of mine including a lot of factoids on Japanese myths-)

I read each of your entries and learn so much. Thank you, especially, for the TransCentralPA info. I have been looking fora group and activities where I could express myself safely and with support. I missed this year's conference but next year might be possible and I am going to look at their other events, too.

I have read numerous accounts of trans folk no longer being welcome among evangelicals.   I am here for help and fellowship not to rebuke anyone.  I can take a pretty high degree of insult, etc., and you haven't insulted me, to my recollection anyway :) and I usually let it go.  But I thought I would let it all out there.   I am sure I disagree with you on numerous issues.  I appreciate other people's viewpoints, including those who radically disagree with me.  Intellectual challenge is good. One thing I appreciate about @MaeBe.

Post 8 “The Ohio Years” We moved to Pittsburgh because of the job with US Airways.  The job involved classroom instruction and simulator training, but no actual flying, so I kept looking for an actual pilot position.  A year after signing on with US Airways I got hired to fly business jets.  The company was located in Cleveland, Ohio, but I was flown commercially from my home in Pittsburgh to where my aircraft was located, making it unnecessary to live near company headquarters.    My flight scheduled consisted of eight days on duty with seven days off.  Having seven days off in a row was great but being gone from home eight days in a row was difficult.  For the first few years the flying was fun, but after a while the eight flying days in a row, were taking their toll on me.  Those days were brutal, consisting of very long hours and a lot of flying time.  Usually, I came home exhausted and need three days just to recover from the work week.  Flying for a living is glamorous until you actually do it.  Quickly, it became just a job.    After five years as a line captain, I became a flight department manager, which required we live near company headquarters.  That meant a move to Cleveland.  Working in the office meant I was home every night but as a manager, the schedule was still challenging.  I would work in the office all week and then be expected to go out and fly the line on weekends.  I referred to it as my “5 on 2 on” schedule, because it felt as though I had no time off at all.   About the same time, we moved to Cleveland, my wife and I became “empty nesters,” with one son in the military and the other away at college.  Sadly, my work schedule didn’t leave much time for Sally.  Add to the fact that while Cleveland is an awesome city, I just never felt comfortable expressing my feminine side.  Most of my outings, and believe me there weren’t enough, occurred while I was on vacation and away from home.   One of the most memorable outings occurred over a long weekend.  I had stumbled across an online notice for a spring formal being held in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, hosted by a local trans group there.  I reached out to Willa to see if she was up for an excellent adventure.  She was, so I picked her up and we drove to Harrisburg together.    The formal was held on Saturday evening and we had the absolute best time.  It turned out that organizers were a group named TransCentralPA.  Everyone was wonderful and I made a lot of new friends that evening.  We learned the spring formal was one of the group’s annual events but for the following year, instead of a spring formal, the group wanted to do a local transgender conference.  That local conference would become the Keystone Conference, and I would attend every year for the next 12.  My move to the west coast was the only reason I stopped attending annually.  I went to the first annual Keystone Conference as an attendee, but in subsequent years I served as a volunteer and as a workshop presenter; more about those in the next installment.   For my Cleveland years, the Keystone Conference would be my major outlet for feminine self-expression.  Yes, I did get out on other occasions, but they were too infrequent.  The managerial job just didn’t allow me the freedom I needed to adequately live my feminine life, and my frustration level was slowly, but steadily on the rise.  It amazed me how adversely not being able to express the feminine half of my personality was affecting my happiness.   However, a major life change was upcoming, and while it would prove to be a significant challenge in many ways, the events would ultimately benefit my female persona.  First, my mom and dad got sick.  They were in and out of the hospital and required personal care.  My wife and I did our best but living in Cleveland, we were too far from them to give them the support they both needed.  Second, I was experiencing serious job burn out.  I decided I need to find another job and I needed to be closer to my parents.    Things changed for the better when I got hired by an aviation training company as a flight simulator instructor.  I would be training business jet pilots.  The training facility was located in New Jersey, which put us much closer to my parents, and the work schedule was much better for quality of life.  Most importantly, this life change would help Sally re-emerge and once again flower.    Hugs,   Sally

I made a living talking about bulk liquids in cargo tanks transportation as a driver and mechanic. Safe loading/unloading, cleaning and inspecting, as well as emergency response scenarios.   Hazmat and fire behavior in the fire service as well as emergency vehicle operations and safe driving. "It was on fire when they called you. It will be on fire when you get there." Arrive ready to work. I could also talk about firefighter behavioral  heath and the grieving process.   The real fun thing is I can do this for people who are not Truck Drivers or Fire Fighters. Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Citizen Tax payers about Public Safety Education.   I love public speaking,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋
