Trans Women Claim They Were Forcibly Removed From Downtown L.A. Bar

I am not saying I was involved in this one, but i was across the street from this bar today at the Downtown L.A. Proud festival in Pershing Square and I recognize one of the Trans women in this.  I had to listen to this twice, but the Cis Couple were kicked out first with security escorting them and then our Trans folks were taken out.  I think the bar manager made a reasonable call on this one to have everybody leave.  I know it looks bad on the film because the women did resist a reasonable order to leave.  We do not see where the shouting directed toward the Het couple takes place but I am betting Peso's to Street Taco's that our Trans friends were not sitting by quietly.  There was enough booze flowing in the DTLA Proud festival area that I had to avoid drinks being slopped over me at a couple of places, and for me to smell like booze is not comfortable or appreciated these days.   This was not done because they were Trans, they were in a bar altercation as people with both sides at fault is what I get from this.  .

It looks like the reporting is a little one sided. No interview with the other side in the argument or the bar. I wonder if the bar are video equipped? It looks like a drink related incident which was nipped in the bud by the bar to me from what is shown.

One sided story. Its a Media thing. It makes news to portray the trans person as the one that was the victim. I would really like to know what happened before they was chucked out. Was it justified?  They never told you the reasons and what was said. All you see is people being thrown out. Wheres the interview with the straight hetro couple. My god why so many labels?

It wouldnt have made the news if they wasnt trans.

If they had not had such a heavy drinking session as Vicky highlighted then perhaps this wouldnt have happened. It was noted the amount of booze was flowing. I know women that butter wouldnt melt in there mouths. if they are sober but get a drink in them and they are like wild banshees. Me personally if i have had one to many ill just giggle a lot and smile like a chesire cat

I will grant you they was a little heavy handed.  Surely thats assault. Maybe the trans group should seek legal advise instead of protesting?

What i see in this story is alcohol.  Too often drink is involved problems aren't far behind. As an active alcoholic i got myself into trouble on several occasions.  Sobriety makes that much less likely today even though i have fully transitioned.

As expected by the bar in question. They have to be seen to be doing something so not to upset the press.  Because if they do nothing the media will have a field day. Telling us all how bad and anti everything beyond the book of genesis this bar is.

I would assume that people from the LGBT community have been to that bar and had a drink etc without incident.  We shall never know if anyone else from that comunity has been thrown out on sight. I would assume not unless they desreved it

I still refer to my original post.

We do not see the whole incident.

No mention of what caused the altercation.

Where these trans woman deservant of swift action?  Where did the gay man come from?

Pouring With Heart, the company that owns Las Perlas, said in an email that it plans to hire a security company that has received sensitivity training, the Los Angeles Times reported. The company said that it also has retained outside counsel to “review the tapes and actions from Friday night to make more specific analysis of exactly what happened and how to ensure it doesn't happen again.”

Even they do not know why. If anything the next thing you will hear is SECURITY COMPANY TAKES LA BAR TO CAUGHT FOR BREACH OF CONTRACT. However i doubt it as it was proberly a rolling contract and just like if you hire a gardener you can be rid of in short notice without a reason.

“Please know that the Department is committed to ensuring the safety of every Angeleno, as well as the right of all to live their true lives in peace, harmony, and free from anxiety or fear,” LAPD Assistant Chief Beatrice Girmala tweeted after the Friday night incident.

I assume this means Everyone and not just lgbt? I still want to know wheres the alledged couple who were part of this. Did they get attacked verbally or physically before these alledged victims were ejected? Was the action of the security justified?

I still say it was a bit brutal but it will be interesting to see if this group takes out an assult charge on the security in question. Not just an alledged call of a hate crime. Even if the other couple not mentioned bring assult charges on the ladies and gent in question. A bit of sensitivity training wouldnt go a miss. They are right on the money there.

Im no angel. I was chucked out of a pub or two when i was a teenager . But it was always justified. They never just picked on me because i was there.

Simply solution. ban alcholic drinks from all bars. Fizzy pop and milk only ?

I have been in it with a Trans friend or two with no problem, although not an enthusiastic welcome. (I do not drink alcohol but they did.) This is the first report of any ejection problems from it though.

This is exactly why I veer away from WeHo and Down town...WAY TO MUCH DRAMA!!..What I saw was some security guard play bully( as they offend do in my experience ) and should have gotten fired. I never once had a problem in any bar accept for the obvious stares and seekers and I usually ignores then. However, if a couple came up to me and began to be-little me..YEAH WE GOING TO HAVE ISSUSES.... sober or not.....OKKKKKKK

Fighting a fever since yesterday. Been shivering cold. even though I keep the house at 71. Went to bed at about 8 last night slept until my wifes alarm was going off.    Ashley I think you are correct. However, they won't be graced with my presence today.   Hugs,   Kymmie

That's horrible that they are blaming you for her presumption. I hate to say it but maybe they are looking for reasons.

I have no skin in the game here, apart from the signal that a re-elected Trump sends to likeminded politicians around the world, which would result in an indirect yet detrimental effect on many people here and elsewhere. So, hopefully what I write here can be used as a reference for how he, and American politics in general, is viewed from a country that is not directly involved.   It seems to me that politics is not taken seriously by enough people in America. Actually, specifically the USA (America can be anywhere from Prudhoe Bay to Panama to Patagonia). Electing a celebrity to high office just wouldn't happen here, let alone one who has overseen the bankruptcy of several of his business ventures and is embroiled in hush-money scandals. I remember during my teenage years when Reagen was elected; the main point of conjecture here was that he was just a B-grade actor. Equally laughable was Arnie as governor of California, although he turned out to be somewhat more socially progressive than most Republican politicians.    I simply cannot understand why the Dems cannot find a decent candidate. Biden has cognitive issues. Everyone expected Harris to step up by now, but no. Where's Jed Bartlet when you need him, lol! In my mind, if Martin Sheen threw his hat in the ring, he'd be elected in a heartbeat because many of you would actually believe that he was the real deal! Even though he's older than Biden!!!   Sorry if that sounds like I am trying to insult the intelligence of y'all. But y'all asked for it, by valuing celebrity over substance over the last five decades or so.    I have no doubt that Trump will win in November, even if he is in jail. His rusted-on supporters will just say, "Yep! That's our boy!!!"

Well said.    Although this so-called Project 2025 will not affect me directly in an immediate sense, it sends a signal to equivalent minded people and political parties around the world that it is okay to exclude minorities and indeed, to persecute them.   In my humble opinion, the far-right politicians know damn well that there is a very large cohort of less-than-intelligent people out there who are not capable of critical thinking and believe every skerrick of dog-whistling, fearmongering, "they're-out-there-to-get-you" rhetoric. Pander to their rural and village attitudes and you're on a winner!    Correcting them with logic and science won't work; they just double down and get louder with their petulance on full display.

Just waking up so I'm in my pajamas - blue/white madras shorts, a navy blue t-shirt and my sleep bra with sleep-rated breast forms.   Thank you @Susan R for telling us about your mastectomy bra and forms fitting experience before your BA surgery and how sleeping in the bra/forms helped with the dysphoria.    First, hearing about your courage to get fitted gave me the confidence and courage to go out in public.   And, second, finding sleep mastectomy bras and sleep-rated breast forms (I found a set on eBay for a good price) has been a tremendous boost to my feeling comfortable in my pajamas and nightgowns and tamping down my dysphoria and dysmorphia.

Germany has more castles than there are McDonald's in the United States. Yep, you heard that right. Germany is estimated to have 25,000 castles, and there are around 13,000 McDonald's locations in America.   In Washington state, there's a real-life law stating it's illegal to kill bigfoot and other sasquatch-like creatures.

DREAD f you’re anticipating something positive, you’re probably motivated to summon all your patience to wait for it—and sometimes for extended time periods. It may be counter-intuitive, yet in certain instances such waiting can itself be gratifying. Consider Carly Simon’s song “Anticipation,” the old Heinz ketchup ads, and—especially—recent research pointing in the opposite direction as regards awaiting something highly aversive. In this post I won’t be reviewing ketchup commercials, but I will be exploring some intriguing research on dread-infused anticipation.

So an update from me.   Had my endo appointment last night. Went very well and they are sending 3 months supply of estrogen (estradoil patches) and the anti-androgens whilst my Dr gets a shared care agreement sorted out. So happy, should start HRT tomorrow!! Cost for the 3 month supply is £70 total for me, so not too bad. Not told my parents about this yet, but them being in spain, not sure they need to know yet.   Can't wait to start, just got to think about where to put the patches now and wait for the changes...
