New Kid Pt.3

Some one hit me with the skills on how to flirt because I am terrible and I know, the new kid just laughs at my miserable attempts, I think he finds it cute that I try. Sadly I am about as smooth as sandpaper. So I tried to get revenge for him dropping his phone on me when it said "Hints" So he was dropping hints on me. So I wrote "Hints on a piece of paper and dropped it on him, for revenge. He was like "Ah, I see your true feelings." And I panicked and said "Ha, no it's just revenge from earlier." He obviously didn't believe me and just laughed. Someone please teach me how to flirt so I can compete, he is a smooth as butter! He is always trying to hold hands so I do it back, He told me to move to the back of the bus with him and I said no playfully and he said "I will kiss you right now if you don't" (Also playing) I froze up ack. I need halp haha

Flirting isn’t a skill. It’s a comfort level.  You have to have a few things to make it work.  You have you really be interested in the person. Not just smitten.  You have to be confident in yourself as a lovable person and someone who is also desirable.  You have to relax and let things flow.  You can not plan or act out anything anyone else has said.  It can not be forced.  It comes from inside you as a confident playfulness.  Being clever and humorous is only a small part of it. But it helps a lot.
The biggest thing is to believe in yourself and be brave.  Eventually you see it’s not hard or scary.
just be you.

Ah, confidence will help a ton. Which, recently I find myself having more confidence when he is around. I also have really bad trust and abandonment issues, which he is helping me with. I am very cautious when I like someone. It blows my mind when someone tells me that they like me. I will work on my confidence and self respect. :D

thank you guys a ton

Very well put.

It's sometimes described as "being comfortable in your own skin".

Just be relaxed and interested.

Yeah, you don't really want a "smooth operator" vibe anyway. Those guys tend to be walking garbage fires. Most guys, especially when they're young, are pretty clueless about flirting. Honestly, it's cute.

Comfort levels with people have a lot to do with it too. Different members of the couple are allowed to have different levels of flirting. For example, I will say things to Susan that make her give me a look that says, "Is there even a word for what's wrong with you?" As another example, I was at the chiropractor. I'd been seeing them for a few months at that point and felt comfortable joking around with the doctor and the technician. The tech had me in a spine extender. Basically a tight jacket around your ribs and another around your pelvis. So he puts on the one for my ribs and asks, "Is that too much?" I raised my voice an octave, got all breathy and answered, "Harder daddy!" He couldn't look at me for the rest of the visit.

There's probably something wrong with me.

The point being that your new friend sounds more comfortable around you than you are around him. Maybe a little more extroverted too. That's not a criticism, some of my best friends are like that. They have a minimal filter and they're comfortable around me. Enjoy it! You'll loosen up as your relationship deepens and you get to know each other better. A good partnership covers for each other's weak spots and builds on each other's strengths.

Seriously, I am positively giddy for you.

Hugs!

Thanks for your advice :) I love the story and I am really good around with strangers because I am extroverted too, just when I like someone my brain doesn't want me to mess up and look like a complete idiot, but he finds it cute. This morning he sat in the back of the bus and he told me to sit next to him, I abided.

There was one time I was in the bathroom and washing my hands and looked to the person next to me and let the water overflow and I said "Wow, this water is really getting out of hand." They laughed at me and smiled, I like making people's day better :D

The name "Mississippi" comes from the Anishinabe tribe of Native Americans; the word means "Father of Waters."

frustration:  the frustration of creative instinct is a notorious evil of the machine age : the state or an instance of being frustrated. : a deep chronic sense or state of insecurity and dissatisfaction arising from unresolved problems or unfulfilled needs

That's horrible that they are blaming you for her presumption. I hate to say it but maybe they are looking for reasons.

I have no skin in the game here, apart from the signal that a re-elected Trump sends to likeminded politicians around the world, which would result in an indirect yet detrimental effect on many people here and elsewhere. So, hopefully what I write here can be used as a reference for how he, and American politics in general, is viewed from a country that is not directly involved.   It seems to me that politics is not taken seriously by enough people in America. Actually, specifically the USA (America can be anywhere from Prudhoe Bay to Panama to Patagonia). Electing a celebrity to high office just wouldn't happen here, let alone one who has overseen the bankruptcy of several of his business ventures and is embroiled in hush-money scandals. I remember during my teenage years when Reagen was elected; the main point of conjecture here was that he was just a B-grade actor. Equally laughable was Arnie as governor of California, although he turned out to be somewhat more socially progressive than most Republican politicians.    I simply cannot understand why the Dems cannot find a decent candidate. Biden has cognitive issues. Everyone expected Harris to step up by now, but no. Where's Jed Bartlet when you need him, lol! In my mind, if Martin Sheen threw his hat in the ring, he'd be elected in a heartbeat because many of you would actually believe that he was the real deal! Even though he's older than Biden!!!   Sorry if that sounds like I am trying to insult the intelligence of y'all. But y'all asked for it, by valuing celebrity over substance over the last five decades or so.    I have no doubt that Trump will win in November, even if he is in jail. His rusted-on supporters will just say, "Yep! That's our boy!!!"

Well said.    Although this so-called Project 2025 will not affect me directly in an immediate sense, it sends a signal to equivalent minded people and political parties around the world that it is okay to exclude minorities and indeed, to persecute them.   In my humble opinion, the far-right politicians know damn well that there is a very large cohort of less-than-intelligent people out there who are not capable of critical thinking and believe every skerrick of dog-whistling, fearmongering, "they're-out-there-to-get-you" rhetoric. Pander to their rural and village attitudes and you're on a winner!    Correcting them with logic and science won't work; they just double down and get louder with their petulance on full display.

Just waking up so I'm in my pajamas - blue/white madras shorts, a navy blue t-shirt and my sleep bra with sleep-rated breast forms.   Thank you @Susan R for telling us about your mastectomy bra and forms fitting experience before your BA surgery and how sleeping in the bra/forms helped with the dysphoria.    First, hearing about your courage to get fitted gave me the confidence and courage to go out in public.   And, second, finding sleep mastectomy bras and sleep-rated breast forms (I found a set on eBay for a good price) has been a tremendous boost to my feeling comfortable in my pajamas and nightgowns and tamping down my dysphoria and dysmorphia.
