Just sayin'... when my therapist saw my new look she asked me how many IQ points I lost going blonde. On the other hand, people in general seem to find me more approachable.

Honestly the only two opinions that matter are yours and Patti Anne's. Yours more than hers. Also, couples wig shopping is a hoot. ?

Hugs!

Looking very good and this is from a girl who went through about 20 different colors until I hit my red color.Which I have lasted well with!!  https://www.transgenderpulse.com/forums/gallery/image/13339-my-neighborhood-2/   I say if you think you look fab with it (I think you do) then you own it and your overall feelings make it simply YOU.

Hey now, hate is a little strong. Just a personal preference. I prefer brunette's to blondes and redheads to breathing.

Hugs!

I think you look good as a blonde. Show us this same look with your everyday makeup on and I think almost everyone would agree that it’s a very nice look. I want to also mention...to me, it looks just slightly more natural too. Maybe that has more to do with the way it shapes your face.?

My Best,

Susan R?

Personally, I think the style and color strongly emphasize your eyes and forehead, giving a more youthful appearance. Can we see this blonde with makeup for the full picture?

What's all the fuss?  Is that not your natural color?  It's you, girl!  Hottie, gonna have all the guys' heads turnin'.

Thank you all.  I wasn’t sure as my natural color is a chestnut brown and it looked so foreign to me at first.  Well chestnut brown in my youth. It’s now a crappy grey.  Lol

I do intend to do an everyday makeup and take another picture with natural light and I will post these too.
Thank again!❤️❤️❤️

I got lucky. As a toddler I had dark brown almost black hair. By the time I got to high school it was a dark medium brown and over the years it continued to get lighter and lighter. By 67 I am blond. Nothing lout of a bottle except fo a blue strip on the left side. Funny thing is I never imagined myself as a blond. I like it.

That style really looks great on you Shawna ?. I feel a lot of warmth and kindness. It's good to try new things out from time to time and bring fresh ideas into your life.

I was waiting for Patti Ann to post this.

@Shawnaleigh  How dare you dig and find my cut hair. but then again mine had a little more curl to it. LOL. plus I haven't been blonde since I was like 3. My natural color is light to medium brown.

However, Looking good sister. You must have gotten the looks in the family. LOL.

Shawna,

It's nice to see the new picture next to the profile picture.

The profile picture makes you look more mysterious and a little evil (in a good way).  You look like you've got a secret to share with us.

The blond hair makes your eyes pop big time and you look a little more innocent and open.  With the blond hair, I notice how beautiful your eyes are.  With the dark hair, your eyes are kind of the same color, so my focus goes to your smile.  The more I look at it, the more I love the new picture.  Even though it's a closed mouth smile, it looks relaxed.  It looks a little more like someone who wants to know what we think, someone who's eager for input and expecting it to be positive.

@ShawnaLeigh Looks really good. The style of wig is complimentary too.  Not everyone can pull it off. I’m with @Jackie C., I prefer the brunette look, but it’s just my preference. My wife is blonde, so it’s not a very firm preference.  Also as Jackie has said, it’s really only Patti’s and your opinion that matters.

I’ve bleached my hair before, in my youth, I can’t work the blonde, so I’ll stay salt and pepper. Maybe at some point after coming out, I’ll try dyeing it, to hide the gray, but don’t want to draw any focus while i stay closeted. Hugs!

I resisted posting it for about a day, then this morning Shawna said something to the effect of 'I'm surprised you didn't post a response!' That was all it took! LOL!

Wow I am really surprised and happy with all the honest feedback.  I certainly like to comparisons to from my profile picture to this quickie pic I took.  I will be in full daily makeup tomorrow and will snap a pic for this thread to see if it still stands that I am now a blond.  LOL

Thank you all for the feedback.

To be fair I’m pretty lost when it comes to makeup technique. I’ve watched videos, but I have no idea what works for or would help my features. So I just bungle along, hoping I don’t look terrible.

There's many words to describe the same idea -- excellent, good, amazing, incredible, great, and other synonyms, for example. It's a shame that some people can't realize that the reason that so many words exist is that it's the human experience; There's a million ways to feel the same exact thing, or to express it. That includes gender. Not everyone wants to express their gender the same way, trans or no. If we try to say in order to be trans, you have to do a, b, and c, you deny all those "flavors" and "hues" that make up the human experience.   That's just my five cents, though

I also play guitar, not very well though and dabble in writing poems and songs. It is a very peaceful way to relax.        💗 Cynthia

I think the first thing may be to realize we have shared interests and shared opposition.  I read an article not long ago by someone who decided to non-op and non-hrt and her transgender friends basically decided she was a traitor and not really trans and had no right to speak on trans issues.  She said many trans people say you aren't really trans unless you do the whole surgical route and legal, etc.  Some insist on the gender binary, others insist on a spectrum.  There must be an agreement to disagree.  Not all of us here have the same viewpoint or the same experience or the same condition.  But we can identify common interests, like walking into a public restroom without fear of arrest, or the right to medical care.    The divisions are severe, heart-felt, and real, but from a practical point of view we need to lay some of those aside when we can for the common interest.  Some of those we cannot lay aside because of personal integrity, but we can work across the aisle, so to speak, something sadly lacking in the public arena today.

Thanks Vicky!  I made a mistake with my topic heading, I consider myself as a Lady but I know that not everyone here thinks that way so I apologize for that.   I should say Hi everyone!! 💗 Cynthia

Welcome to the Forums Cynthia.   We do have gentlemen here as well who are some of the nicest guys you can get to know.

@Mirrabooka@Abigail Genevieve Let's not neglect the severe divisions within the Trans and NB sector as well along those lines.  Where we have Non Op & Non HRT and Cross Dressers, Gender Benders, Gender Fluid, Agender et al VS. the full surgical route takers with GCS, FFS, BA and vocal surgery,   Which of those segments gets to speak for the others?  How do we turn them into a cohesive force for good just among those nominally under the Trans shade tree??

Hi, I am Cynthia, 62 year old lifelong crossdresser.  I have been dressing off and on for as long as I can remember. In the last ten years or so I have noticed that my dressing has become a major part of my life, I went through all of the purging and confusion and I came out feeling more like a woman every day.  Self acceptance is very powerful if you truly accept who you are.    Over the last few years I have built a nice wardrobe and now spend about 80% of the time as my true self. I only wear male clothing when visiting with family and running errands. I don’t know if I am trans or not, all I know is that I absolutely love myself as a woman and that’s how I feel about myself, that I am Cynthia.   I love wearing makeup, dresses and jewelry, it feels so good and natural to me.     I am thankful to have found this special place and look forward to being a part of this beautiful community!!  I hope to learn about myself and also to participate and interact daily and to help others in their journey as well.    If I could I would absolutely live full time as a woman and hopefully with help and encourage I will one day fulfill this dream. I love being a woman and thinking of myself this way. I’ve never thought much about my pronouns but I definitely like she/her for myself!!   Thanks for reading and I look forward to being here and sharing with you all!!     💗 Cynthia
