Looking for tall and mature women's clothing... any suggestions?

Ok, I'm tired.  I'm tired of spending hours and hours looking for pants and tops for tall women.  At reasonable prices.  I can't pay $79 for a single top, Lane Bryant.  You, too, Long Tall Sally.  Goodwill, you have tons of clothes but could you please put the tall stuff in a special section?  Amazon, you have 40,000 pairs of jeans and no checkbox on the left for "Tall".  How am I supposed to look through 40,000 pairs of jeans?!  Also, some of us are getting older... I don't want skinny jeans, I want a stretch waistband with normal legs.  My eyes are bugging from screen searching so much I'm going to need a new prescription for my glasses.

Does anyone have any suggestions on where to find tall clothes for older gals at affordable prices?  I'm only 5'11"... it shouldn't be this hard!

I shop at Torrid, Long Tall Sally, Target and the local thrift stores. I like cruising the resale shops with my wife, it's a fun outing and sometimes I get something pretty. Don't discount skinny jeans though, I've got no hips so they fit better than regular cut. I'm an XL-Tall at 5' 11" and... no idea what I weigh anymore. I hope less than 210. I haven't been able to check since the pandemic. We don't own a scale.

Hugs!

We own one of those new digital/talking scales. When I step on it in the morning it quickly response with; Hey! One person at a time!

For jeans I buy tall boot cut from Old Navy (I’m 6’ 2”) . They go on sale pretty often and you can get them for under $20. They also have some of their tops in tall sizes. My wardrobe has mostly Old Navy.

I usually find my clothes at old navy or maurices. I pretty much only wear old navy jeans. Kohl’s is another good place.

Thanks, girls!  I had not thought of Old Navy and I didn't know they have a tall section.  I like their styles.  I'm just a simple country gal... fashion and fancy is not my thing.  I need clothes to work around the house and yard and just a couple of going out on the town outfits (which I don't do very often).  I like casual, comfortable clothes but I'm very picky about certain things.  Hiking in the hills and birding requires pockets.  I have some cargo pants but don't want to wear them all the time.  I know everyone is wearing leggings and skinny jeans but I don't like clingy pants.  I like straight leg or boyfriend cuts.  You know, I just realized I haven't shopped in 10 years!  ?  I am so out of touch, lol.

Keep the suggestions coming.

Well GF when I get there we all will have to hit some stores. I do like shopping and I can literally abuse a clearance rack section in minutes.  I show up to a dressing room with a look on my face like “ Yeah right!  5 items only my arse!”  And then proceed to cram my card in there with me.  Lol

Id love to go a shop with you!

I can speak for Patti and say she is a bit of a shop-acholic too and she is tall as well.  Perhaps she can point you to some places out there.

Going shopping together sounds fun, @ShawnaLeigh!  But fair warning, I'm not a great clothing shopper.  I get frustrated with it, partly because I'm so picky.  But I get lucky sometimes.  Yesterday I breezed through the sweaters at Goodwill (not my fav place but we have a fairly nice one here) and within minutes found just what I was looking for and it fit!  Now if I can just wash the Goodwill stink out of it.  If not, oh well, it was only $4.

After a week of online "fashion" shopping I finally realized something... I'm in the wrong stores.  Heck, I'm not even in the right district!  I closed up all those browser tabs and went to LL Bean.   Ahhhhhh.... my style!  But, within minutes I realized no Tall filter... ok, not so bad because the product lines are short.  I've always thought their prices were too high, though... $55 for sweat pants?!  The twill pants are less than the sweats?!?  And they're still not long enough.  I saw one pair exactly the same as on another site... China made, over twice the price!  I have trouble handing my money to anyone trying to rip me off.

Btw, I've found this store called Beal's.  Everyday casuals at reasonable prices plus amazing sales/discounts.  I've bought several summer pieces from them, T's, tanks, shorts.  Thought I'd share that here for anyone interested.

I've decided I should probably find a local store with lots of jeans and spend a day there trying things on.  Seems like the smarter thing to do.  Who knows, maybe I'll just go back to skirts.

Tori, have you looked at The Vermont Country Store? My wife loves it. Two years ago we stopped there while on vacation.

Well, that's good.  @ShawnaLeigh will have energy to find stuff for me when I get tired.  ?

I always liked Lee's but my local (small) Wallymart's clothing dept. is a joke.  They should just clear it out to make room for other stuff.  I need to go to the city and see what the big ones have.  I never tried shopping for clothes on the bay.  Guess I should check it out.

Are women's inseams sometimes measured differently somehow?  I keep seeing 28" and 30" inseams listed as "Tall"???

Jeggings are a new item for me.  They look they might not be quite so form fitting as leggings?  Wonder if I might like a pair maybe 1 size larger??

Btw, I just discovered ThredUP has a Tall section.  Yippee!

I’m a 30” inseam and all the jeans I buy have to be tall and that makes it tricky sometimes. I never heard of threadup I will have to look it up

ThredUP is used clothing.  Seems fairly meticulously cataloged which helps.  Several pairs of ~30" jeans.

There is a store by me called uptown cheapskate that has some really cute clothes that are all used. Unfortunately they don’t have a tall section. My best luck finding tall jeans is old navy. If you catch the sales they are reasonably priced.

Germany has more castles than there are McDonald's in the United States. Yep, you heard that right. Germany is estimated to have 25,000 castles, and there are around 13,000 McDonald's locations in America.   In Washington state, there's a real-life law stating it's illegal to kill bigfoot and other sasquatch-like creatures.

DREAD f you’re anticipating something positive, you’re probably motivated to summon all your patience to wait for it—and sometimes for extended time periods. It may be counter-intuitive, yet in certain instances such waiting can itself be gratifying. Consider Carly Simon’s song “Anticipation,” the old Heinz ketchup ads, and—especially—recent research pointing in the opposite direction as regards awaiting something highly aversive. In this post I won’t be reviewing ketchup commercials, but I will be exploring some intriguing research on dread-infused anticipation.

So an update from me.   Had my endo appointment last night. Went very well and they are sending 3 months supply of estrogen (estradoil patches) and the anti-androgens whilst my Dr gets a shared care agreement sorted out. So happy, should start HRT tomorrow!! Cost for the 3 month supply is £70 total for me, so not too bad. Not told my parents about this yet, but them being in spain, not sure they need to know yet.   Can't wait to start, just got to think about where to put the patches now and wait for the changes...

Good Morning    well it’s Friday for most, pay day for some.  For me it’s pay day but not Friday.  I work the same opening shift tomorrow.  I typically have Friday on Saturday and Monday on Tuesday.     @KymmieL it does sound like your shop has an issue and you are smack in the thick of it.  The new gal or guy often is.  We have an issue with new people not getting fully trained before being turned loose on customers.  Some struggle through it and some quit because of it.  I try to get them working with customers as quickly as I can but I stay right with them observing, helping, even jumping in when things are getting backed up to keep the stress down.  Not everything comes up during training so when things do, even later after trying is done, I try to help and explain.  Our ASM feels that once she has you scanning barcodes and taking money she is done training.  Generally, refuses to train me on things that she does, and questions why I’m doing something that she normally handles when I’ve been told to do it as part of my advancement training.     She and the cashier involved both keep trying to toss the manager under the bus over a hours of work issue and shifts.  I tell her I realize her issues and I’ll work what ever she needs.  Because of that I tend to get a better more consistent schedule.   Well, time to say Happy Trails to you, until we meet again.   Hi ho Silver, away   Willow

That does get you the 'starting point' for cup size, but manufacturers, style, breast shape, etc... will effect the results.    Step one is of course finding the proper band fit, then figuring out the approximate cup size with the calculations. Of course you need to try on a few styles after that in different cup sizes close to your measured result until you get the perfect fit.    I have bras in a DD that fit just like my bras in DDD both from Torrid but different styles.    I have some DDD's that fit awesome and some that are a bit loose, but I measure a 46G. It's not wonder that 80% of women are wearing them wrong bra.

I firmly believe I drank entirely to much for about 25 years. Got drunk every day. This was my coping mechanism to keep hiding deep inside that I was a woman. I miss a lot of signs over the years. Now I drink mabye 1 or 2 beers a day don't even get a buzz anymore. totally accept myself and on regret is that I hide that part of my self which  truly makes me happy being violet 💜. I wasted a lot of time before  being self destructive and had no clue I was just hiding th real me
