No you didn't, but then again I didn't really expect an answer.

Keep it clean. There's no need to be rude or confrontational.

Just like all of the conspiracy theories about Bush? People claimed that Bush was going retain the Presidency after his second term, still claim that he was behind 9/11, claim just about everything about him, including that he is the Anti-Christ.

Yes Obama is different than every other President. His administration has taken over private corporations, forced banks to take "loans," then not allowed them to repay the "loans." He even has a Tsar to regulate the pay of employees of private companies.

Why is it that a white person disagreeing with a black man is automatically assumed to be racist?

Rational, reasonable discussion would be good. Barney Frank asking someone "On what planet do you spend most of your time?," and comparing them to a table. That certainly is rational and reasonable. No the woman, a member of LaRouche Youth Movement, certainly wasn't being rational, but is that any reason for Frank to go down to her level? Other Democratic politicians have also been less than rational, Pelosi is saying the whole movement is fake, amazing not one person came to that conclusion on their own. Boxer saying that they are all organized, certain members of the media calling them teabaggers, and racists. Are any of those people acting rational?

I have no problem with conservatives like yourself and do not consider the entire group loony. And yes, there are some loony liberals, too.

I don't consider the entire party to be racist just because there are white people disagreeing with a black man. There are black republicans who disagree with Obama. That doesn't make them racist against white people. But I think that for a lot of people, these irrational fears and ideas are sprouting from xenophobia. Some people have let it slip that their fears are rooted in racism, ie. Glenn Beck saying the health care bill (as well as the entire Obama administration) is a form of reparations. (ie. slave reparations) So... because he's a black man, he must want to punish white people? (And let's not forget he's only half black) *shakes head*

I thought that the Barney Frank comment was something these people needed to hear for a long time. To entertain these ideas by responding to them as if they're actually probable hasn't been working and makes about as much sense as the ideas do. All they do is scream over someone responding rationally. Barney Frank was saying, "Are you aware that your ideas are nuts?" Which they totally are. Perhaps not the most dignified or polite thing to do, but also quite needed and very funny. :D And Nancy Pelosi's never quite rational. :P

wow  this is why i dont like political debates, someone's bound to get personal.

i do hate how white people are always assumed to be racist when they dont like a person of a different race. that very idea is racist agenst white people. i dont like racism as a whole. white, black, brown, green, purple, it doesnt matter.

i dont know about all the rest of the country, but i live in tennessee, and everyone in my city who didnt like obama quoted race and religion as their basis for hating him. it may not be true in other places, i dont know, but here, yea, its racism.

frankly, i think all of politics is loopy. its all flame wars, and hitting below the belt. its pretty disgusting how both parties have acted over the years, and yet the people still put up with it. oh well, guess thats life. i hate neither liberals nor conservatives. i draw inspiration from both. all i hate is sexism/herero-supremacy/racism (i count transphobia as sexism. if they didnt judge based on sex, then they would have no problem with us), and i get that kind of stuff 90% of the time from conservatives. but the ones that arent stupid i can be friends with, i could name 3 off the top of my head. the stupid rule applies to liberals too, they can be just as annoying.

i want to start the republicrats, and end this pointless division. its ok to divide on issues, thats how this whole thing works, but this is like a civil war. and from i can see, its not that civil.

Whoops. I apologize for my part in that. I can be blunt when I speak my mind sometimes. :P I have nothing against anyone here, have not been offended and am not trying to offend anyone. I have actually been quite enjoying this debate thusfar. (I love debates!) :D

Skyy, you're funny. Republicrats, that's awesome. :D And, yeah, when it comes to war, all those silly terms are never what they imply. "Friendly" fire, "civil" war...

Its not your fault in any way, Charlie. No one here needed to try to make things into personal attacks. It was only opinions and no one ment to offend anyone. Peace, love and chicken grease. :)

oh no no no, i wasnt talking about you. i didnt notice anything super offensive about your posts. they all seemed to be humble political beliefs, no flaming in them. dont worry, i have a habit of being honest too. and debates are great, nothing wrong with them, i was refering to the assault on zabrak. it takes a lot of self control to have a mature debate, and some cant do it, cause it involves biting the bullet a lot, and dealing with humor and sarcasm. :) i really dont trust myself to debate; if i feel strongly about the subject and know it well, i get really offended easily (like gay marriage, for me, its like debating whether black people should be equals), or if i dont know the subject well, i dont even bother making stuff up (like health care, i'm not 18, never researched it, and dont really know much about it). so dont worry, i wasnt talking about you.

i forgot about friendly fire. it funny how terms can change their meaning. the the sarcastic "oh, great" is virtually never used in a positive light. "wise man" and "wise guy" are opposites.

oh, and i've always wanted to say the word republicrats, and now i finally can use the term.

sorry for the weird response posting, i'm not that computer savvy, so this is the best i can do

hmm...now i'm craving chicken soup, thanks zabrak <_<

What I don't understand is how did he stoop to her level by blowing her off? Should he have really bothered to waste everyone's time by answering her instead of moving on to the actual semi rational guy asking about what happens tot he people losing their houses?

Ok we all know that the trans community has many issues, chroning un/underemployment being one of the big ones. Thankfully i am employed but its part time and for 8/hr with no benefits, having grown up in Canada I know what a good state system can do for a person's peac of mind. You know you can get into the hospital should you need to, you can see a Dr or dentist with little or no co-pay. The standard of care, whie not equating a Mayo Clinic, is quite good and if its an emergency the will see you no matter what.

The majority of the people who are against it seem to fall into two camps

1) those who have money and wouldnt need/use it anyway

2) those who think that anything remotely socialist is way too close to communist (all though the two systems have little in common)

The majority of those for it seem to be people like us who have no insurance otherwise, and dont stand a hope in unowhere of getting any because we dont make enough at work or on public assistance or social security to pay for daily living and medical insurance.

just my 0.01$

No luck there, really. She's getting a signing bonus plus a little extra that I don't think would cover much in the way of the move, but it is something!   Oh my! I am glad to hear you're not passing anymore blood. I hope they figure it out soon! How distressing!   @April Marie @KymmieL @Mirrabooka @Willow @Justine76, thank you for the kind words and thoughts! We told our best friends last night. There were many tears. Now it's all about the work: selling the house (my wife's friend's son said he may want to buy it direct!), a job (a former employee of mine wants to bring me over to his company--and they're based outside of Tacoma!), and moving (just started going through what we don't want bring and donating things). So things have kicked off.   I'm not so sure of the job, it would be good to work with my former employee (he's great) but I fear the culture may not be super welcoming to someone like me--and the guy doesn't know I'm trans in any way. But I'll give it a shot as my authentic self and see what happens!

@LadypcnjI'm sorry. I know the feeling my mom thinks I'm going through a phase too although I didn't come out till April 17, 2023, so it was later in life. I was in denial majority of my life. I would love to hear more about this if you are comfortable sharing more of it.

I love fashion. I have over 100 dresses and 74 pairs of shoes. My walk-in closet is full of other clothes as well. I'm getting more shorts soon. SHEIN is awesome for quality and price. Just when you get a leather coat from them it's just the shell not the liner. Most of my shoes are from Torrid because I wear size 13 women's.

Unfortunately Oklahoma is about as bad as Texas but definitely not as bad as Florida. Especially as a minor!

I'm sorry @Ladypcnj I can only sympathize with you on that. Therapist on the other hand is crazy. I have had 16 in 10 years. It sucks having to have to go over things. I will say though after 6 therapists I didn't have to explain my history they simply read the history.

I followed you and will give you my advice when I can. It has happened to me a lot too. If you want to you can always message me and I'll get back to you ASAP. I understand your concerns.

I don't use it.   One of my daughters gave me a little to experiment with, but I haven't.  My youngest tried to put some on me once, but I din't like it.  The light was pretty bad admittedly. My ex didn't use it, and my daughters didn't use it much either when they were still at home.  (If so it was very subtle) And I don't often notice it on women my age (mid 70's)   I shave every day.  But my beard is not heavy, and essentially grey, so it's not real noticeable unless you get close with good light.  I was starting to look into electrolysis, but the pandemic hit, and I just kinda dropped it.   Sometimes I do wonder about it though.

It's something I'm just learning but I find I actually enjoy the 'craft' of it in addition to how it makes me look. Even after a fresh shave, I have a mild 5'clock shadow. For me, the primary use of makeup is to get rid of that. I'll start with the orange concealer over facial hair areas and a bit under my eyes. Liquid foundation over that and light concealer used judiciously over that (still dialing that part in). Then just a tad of powder to bring color back in certain places. There are a number of Youtube tutorials on that layering process.    I'll also pencil in my eyebrows a bit since they're blonde and otherwise not very visible. Sometimes I'll get adventurous and give mascara a try but that's a delicate skill and usually I mess it up. I don't particularly like lipstick, but just ordered a 'lip pencil' to experiment with. Hoping for a more subtle effect.

Sunday is my weekly ablution day - all of the parts that need occasional shaving get their required attention. The weather is rainy and cool today so after the ablutions and shower, I put on blue jeans, a gray t-shirt and a black front-zip hoodie along with gray sneakers.   And, I did put on make-up, not to impress anyone but just to feel as if I'm looking my best....as good as that can be given this woman is now 69 years old.

There are lots of us here willing to offer support, ideas, a shoulder or just a smile. Working with your therapist and finding your true self can be difficult process...but it will also be filled with wonder and joy as you discover that person who's been waiting inside you to be found.   Just know that you are not alone.
