Someone told me

youve arrived

I looked around

but had not left

where was it I'd arrived

how did I arrive

what did she mean

it felt no different

then I go to thinking

for years upon years

stuck in the rut

of societies blindness

finally to wake

finally to realize

that all I'd been taught

all that I'd done

was to please others

to do as expected

never mind the misery

never mind the emptyness

never mind it wasnt right

to behave as a male

when all inside me knew

that too was a lie

finally later in life

the time came upon me

the need, the desire

could be nolonger denied

then came that day

the day of reconning

just how many would remain

when I told them my road

sure some they left

others were hurt

in anger they reacted

some accepted not

still insist im male

but they will realize

they too are wrong

Youve arrived someone said

now it made sense

I was well on the way

to completing transition

new on the hormones

GRS still a dream

but here I sit

now a woman of the world

YES I HAVE ARRIVED
