Hi everyone!!

Another new girl here. My name is Kacee (actually, it's my nickname. My full name would take up half the page!! lolz).

Anyway, I have recently come out, although I have known my true identity since I was around 5 years old (I am 48 now (eep!!) and recently widowed.) My wife, God bless her soul, was the only one who knew about me for many years and she was very supportive and helpful. I think that really gives me a leg up on transitioning, because she taught me so much about make-up, clothing, etc. During our marriage, I usually dressed in "girl clothes" at home, and, sadly, put on the "boy clothes" to go to work. Because of my profession (I am an auto mechanic) I have been reluctant to come out at work. I'm workin up the courage tho!! It's a great job, and something I love doing, even tho it is hell on my hands!! I work in a small shop (4 other people) and I don't usually see customers, so I don't think my boss has to worry about any issues there. I've been there quite a while and the guys know me pretty well (Hmmm... mebbe not!! lolz) but I'm still scared. I have told some friends and my mom. That was very difficult. We live very far apart, and neither of us is able to travel right now, so I did it over the phone. The jury is still out on it. She was accepting and encouraging when I told her, but that was 4 days ago and in our conversations since, she has said nothing. Dunno. Anywayz, I'll shut up now. Thanks for being here and thanks for letting me in!!

Love

Kacee

Hello, Kacee,

I am so glad that you have found us, do come in and have a seat.

I'll bring you some cookies and cocoa and let everyone know that you are here.

They tend to take the cookies so you might want to hold on to a couple of them.

We have a good time here as well as learning and supporting each other so welcome to the family.

Love ya,

Sally

Hi Kacee and welcome, i have a good friend and her nickname is KC. I am sorry to hear about your wife, sounds like she was supportive and that was good.

You are by far not the oldest here or the oldest to transition, i started last year at the young age of 56.

HUGS!

Kacee,

Welcome to the Playground! Sorry to hear about your wife. She sounds like an awesome person.

It is my experience that most mechanics, at least here in AZ, are fairly open minded about these kind of things. I am a mechanic too. Just 17 though!

Hey everyone!!

Hi & thank you for being so nice!! I need that right now. Things are a lil strange here and I need all the support I can beg, borrow or steal!! lolz

Thank you for the condolences. Yes, my wife was a fantastic girl We had 28 great years together, even tho she was very sick for the last 6. She had a lot of serious medical problems, the worst was lung cancer. That's the one that finally beat her. She died in my arms at home last January and I moved out of that house the next day. I just couldn't stay there any longer. I miss her terribly, but I take (small) comfort in knowing that she is not suffering anymore. We were great friends and had many great times together. I will always cherish those memories. I told her all about me before we were married and she surprised me by being very understanding and supportive. OMG!! The shopping trips we went on!! We drove everyone nuts at WalMart & Victorias Secret on many occasions!!! Oh!! The looks we got!! Not to mention all the goodies we bought!! lol

Anywayz, thank you all for being here. And I hope I can not only learn and grow with your help, but hopefully, I can help someone else out here in some way.

As for the pic, no, I am a singer, not an artist. I didn't draw it, and YES, I do want it as my avatar, if I can ever figger out how to put it there!! (psst.... HELP!!!)

As for my singin, I'd love to post some of my stuff somewhere so y'all can listen and enjoy (I hope!)

I don't write songs, but I think I do pretty good with covering other folks stuff.

Y'all take care and I'll be back shortly!!

Love ya!!

Kacee (BTW, that comes from my initials: Kristina Alexsandria Caitlynne Elisabeth E... (don't want anyone yellin at me for postin my last name!! lol) But PLEASE!!! For God's sake, call me Kacee!!!)

Hi Kacee

Try this to put your picture as your avatar

First- have your pic in your computer (somewhere you know where it is like your picture's file or desk top)

Second- click on "my control"(top right of screen)

Third- click on "Edit Avatar Settings"(left hand column about half way down)

Fourth- Go down to "Upload a New Image from your Computer" and click on the "Browse" to find your picture.

Last click on "Update Avatar"

That should do it.

I completely understand the feeling. It’s much like watch a kettle come to boil. Looking back the changes were much like that boiling kettle…the less anticipation, the faster the results seem to have come or became noticeable to me. I do have to say that there was sort of an immediate placebo effect in just the fact that I knew I was finally making it real and that the process had begun. I was immediately at peace with my decision which up until that point I kept second guessing all the negative possibilities it might create. Almost 6 years in, I wouldn’t change my path in any way.   And a big congratulations for being able to make that leap toward authenticity. That is a huge milestone!   Best of luck on your journey, Susan R🌷

I'm not sure that's quite true.  If it was done by private entities?  Like most landfills here are privately owned, as are power plants.  I can't see a reason they couldn't be combined.    Right now, garbage companies in my area harvest the methane produced by the landfill to run their trucks.  The put all sorts of pipes in among the layers of the landfill to collect it.  Compressed natural gas (CNG) can be used with only minor modifications to existing engines, and many truck stops are adding CNG pumps as some fleets transition to it.    A fuel's usefulness is often measured in BTU's per gallon.  CNG has approximately the same BTUs as diesel or gasoline (138,000 or so.)  Pure ethanol and E85 have much less - like 76,000 BTUs.

Well, after a week on HRT, as many would probably have predicted, I've noticed exactly zero mental or physical changes. Patience appears to be the key here as hard as that will be after finally getting my transition moving. Guess I just need to sit back and enjoy the ride. Hope that my first blood tests after two months will show hormone levels moved acceptively.

A therapist appt is a great place to dress femme, If you want to!   It also sounds like a great safe venue to speak softer and more feminine, if that’s where you want to go.     Not sure the rules now.  But if you’re seeking HRT you might have to show them something to convince the money system that your case is medically necessary.  Obvious feminine clothes and mannerisms displayed by a human assigned male at birth (perhaps this is you?)  could be check marks towards them pushing your case through.     Please be whatever brings you love for who you are.   I have pursued this all the way through obstacles, mistakes, humiliation, and pain. And I  am so so so grateful  Hugs 😊 🌈🌈

Puzzled.  My United Healthcare Medical Advantage DOES cover gender affirming surgeries.  The HARD part is finding a surgeon that's in-network.  If the surgeon is out of network, the coverage is 40%/60% (they pay 60%).    Sadly, the surgeon I'd like to have, Dr Russell Sassani, in south Florida, is out-of-network and requires full payment prior to surgery.  I'm certain that there have been insurance issues for him and others, in the past.  Most GOOD surgeons for trans surgeries don't submit insurance, though they WILL help you with the codes, etc.  Actually, he does accept some regular insurance and original Medicare.     Anyway, I hope you were able to get your surgery or at least closer to being able to do so.

Welcome Madelyn, glad you are here and best wishes on your journey!!   I started HRT about two months ago... Had my initial appointment in December... Other than a bra underneath my clothes, I likely didn't look feminine at all ... I was nervous as heck but the doc put me at ease...   Just be yourself... do what feels comfortable for you ... The pace is up to you... Remember, you are one of a kind and have inestimable worth...    EasyE

I have been creating a space to be expressive. It's def not completed yet, I have loads of ideas still. Thinking about re-painting, maybe a light pastel purple or light pink, with a satin gloss. Honestly I'm hung on which would look best. Leave a comment if you think it would look better pink or purple. This area is a combination Man-Cave / She Shack. This is my sacred space, I think it's coming out well so far. I love this room, it inspires my creativity. Tho, I think there's not much man left in the cave lol.

Then there is how FDR is revered, and the ridiculous reluctance of the left to ever say anything negative about Biden.  It destroys their credibility.  Obsessed with Trump, they ignore how much worse Biden is.

The title of this thread is highly offensive.

Oh…. Now I get what the transgender agenda is.  I missed it.   I just didn't realize he was running again.   Silly me.   I'm going to quit now.  I've already been an ass
