Acceptance

Here is another of the milestones in my transition, and this one I didnt even go looking for. I was standing at the front desk this morning wrapping up the shift and making sure the papers and things were ready for the next shift.

The new Houskeeping Manger came behind the desk to do the room assignments for the girls, she looked at me and said "I've come to the conclusion that men are such babies when they are sick." I giggled and asked who we might be talking about and she proceeded to regail me with the entire incedent that happened the night before between her and her BF.

I got a good laugh out of it because i have seen it happen that way (with my old self) and she didnt know this bit but it felt good to be included in that kind of a convo. It seems things are slowly settling into acceptance of me as one of the girls there at work.

For me it was like the first time I succeeded in passing as a woman, its one of those lil things that mean so much. On day it will happen Carolyn, just don't try to find this one let it find you. It was/is a good feeling.

Wow that is so great! I have actually recently been experiencing the same thing (i'm on hormones and often were subtle female things) where many girls actually just talk to me like I was a girl myself (and they seem like it comes naturally and they have no problem at all), maybe it's just my imagination, but ether way I'm happy for you. It must feel great!

child birth I have no idea about, as to PMS i got accused of having that for the first two weeks on Estrogen... sanitary products... hmmm might have to learn something bout them... as to periods.. well im old enough to, if I were a gg, not have them anymore.

Give it a try, you never know. I have been fortunate that way at work. The younger waitresses in particular view and treat me as a woman. We've even gone shoe shopping together. Not saying that will happen with you, but nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Congratulations JoAnna, it an awesome feeling being accepted as one of the girls. I would even say it's a far bigger deal than being accepted as a woman by men. Good on you girl!
